Aggie good to hear from you , how exciting to be finally moving

Gem I have just done my ironing with the help of the dog lying at my feet getting in the way ,

Just been talking about new wardrobes for the spare room as I have a lot of my clothes in there , but I don't feel like all the upheaval at the moment , maybe after Christmas or in the spring ,
Trouble is if we take the sliding wardrobes out we would need to repair the ceiling where the tracks have been ,plaster the walls where the shelves were inside as it was the children's toy cupboard ,re decorate , buy new carpet , the list goes on so have no enthusiasm at the minute , maybe its the dark wintery days and nights taking my energy away .Or I'm just sick of DIY mess after just finishing tiling and decorating the loo .

Aggie best of luck with dealing with BT. Have you been reconnected yet ? Talking to BT is like nailing jelly to a tree , impossible !
Are you moving far Aggie ?

We went to town today to meet DS and buy him lunch and do a bit of shopping. Now in my mind I know I wanted a few bits and pieces but could I remember what....... All I came home with was a roll of black bin liners !

We went out this morning in the lovely sunshine, to a local garden centre. We were very surprised to see the car park heaving and as we went in a great long line of people queueing up. I suddenly realised they were waiting to get their tickets to see Santa in his grotto! They sell out very quickly and are limited and today was the first day they go on sale. I reckon they’ve sold out by now. Couldn’t believe the length of the queue! We had a very nice cappuccino (DH) and hot chocolate(me, of course) and I enjoyed browsing but didn’t buy anything, just nice to get out in the sunshine,

DH has now spent the whole afternoon trying to pay our renewal for the house insurance, Grrrr, finally got through in the phone and apparently all their computers are down so are now waiting for a phone call back! Modern technology at its best 😠

Modern technology is fine when it works Enfys!!
Fancy you two queuing up to see Santa

As well as a fair amount of housework, I have moved all my summer tops to the spare room wardrobe, and the winter ones to our bedroom. I have far more summer ones I realise. It could be I have too many summer ones, but to be on the safe side, maybe I need to buy a few more autumn/winter ones?

Shopping trip not successful. Bearing in mind DD's mother-in-law is over 90 things were slow and I am afraid nothing was purchased. MIL is a very smart lady and has quite a fair amount of clothes but needs to be warm for a winter wedding. We came back to her house, had a cuppa and looked at some catalogues, it is really easier for her to buy on line now because she gets very tired.

Pleased you have a moving date and that you are progressing Aggie.

Fireworks going off as I type.

Hello all. Finally trying to catch up after our few days away. Missing the family like mad of course. We didn’t see much of GD as she was living it up on a school trip to New York! She had a fabulous time, saw all the sights and shopped for quite a few clothes We were able to spend half a day with her so better than nothing.GS was his usual unique self I helped him and DD make his Halloween costume. He wanted to be a severed head on a platter on a table covered in a blood-stained white tablecloth.Luckily DD likes crafting so between us we came up with a pretty good effort.Hope to be contributing a bit more now I’m back in the old routine

Oma - how lovely to share your nephew's pleasure about his new home.

Clover - welcome back. I thought your GD would have a fantastic time in the Big Apple! It's something she'll always remember. Your DS's costume sounds really bloodthirsty - about as gruesome as my GS1's was!

Plant - I do hope Dd's MIL finds something nice for the wedding. I think winter weddings are difficult - it could be really freezing.

Enfys - if Santa gets anymore popular he will have to start making appointments, not just selling tickets. Still you enjoyed getting out and it has been a lovely day.

Gem - you definitely need more winter clothes. It's totally unfair of you to deprive your winter wardrobe like that. It will feel all sad and empty.

Mimi - your comment about forgetting what you wanted reminded me I need to add an item to the list fo small things I need to order online - probably from Amazon, so I got the list out .....and can't remember what I wanted to put on it!

Aggie -I'm so pleased you are making good progress and have finally got a moving date. For goodness sake, don't overdo things getting ready to move. I hope you've sorted out your BT connection - it's such a pain.

Oma - I'm not surprised you're all decorated out - but I bet your cloakroom looks great. Just shut the door on the spare bedroom!

I've had a nice chilled day! Pottered around, done nothing much except sweep the front drive after OH and a friend had been busy with a chainsaw and half a tree! The Last of the summer Wine lunch was good fun, as it always is when the three of them get together (OH and 2 wood turning buddies). They're having a day out on Saturday - going to a place called the Tool Post! I think there will be demonstrations of various bits of equipment etc, but listening to them planning what to do about lunch etc made me glad they're not in charge of anything important! LOL

I've spent the evening trying to keep Eva happy - she's been pacing round. I couldn't hear fireworks or anything, so she might just have been missing OH who was out for the evening.

When I get chance I'm going to sit and catch up on all your news. Just read the last three pages of this thread & I'm so behind on what you're all doing. Busy ladies.

Very misty here but it promises to be nice later. We are going out to lunch and a walk afterwards, trying hard to just do normal things. We discovered I nice little pub where they do “light bites” just right for DH at the moment.

This last couple of weeks ive kept myself busy and have crocheted a scarf and have just started knitting a pair of socks. Very jazzy red, white and blue stripes. I wonder if they’ll actually be wearable when I’ve finished. . But they keep me occupied in the evening,

Have a good day, ladies - hope the sun shines for you 🌞

                                Good morning everyone.
Thanks for my morning coffee Oma

We're very chatty on here Nana, I'm sure catching up takes a while!

Lovely graphic Enfys. Yes , doing normal things, and keeping to your usual routine, with few treats thrown in, is a good way to handle things xx

Early meeting in Costa with the man I am relieving as secretary. Apart from that, the usual Thursday of doing mums shopping and visiting her.
Virgin Media are out bright and early. It will be lovely when they move on from our street!
                                Have a good day everyone.
