Gem - you posted while I was typing! I do hope you get lots of visitors to your coffee morning at the library. I thought your message on FB was a good idea!

Morning ladies ,
Nanto a early start for you tomorrow morning ,
Gem I hope you raise lots of money I'm sure it will be worth not having a lie in ,
Daisy I have pictures in my head of this mad woman wandering around her garden late at night
Enfys maybe Daisy is right if Dexter has chased a wheel when a puppy and come of the worse he will not like them now
Ive had a busy morning cleaned the kitchen cupboards out and the draws , seems to take forever ,
The knife draw is the worst how come no matter how many times you clean it crumbs always seem to make there way into the cutlery draw ?
Then I decided to shred some paper work and got the shredder jammed , it wouldn't take them down or up ,
I had put some paper in and forgot there was a envelope with a letter between so it was too many layers.
Brian sorted it and I got plain instructions how not to do it again
Good morning and first and foremost I want to thank Daisy for taking over the role as ' woman completely mad in a dressing gown ' . It takes a huge weight off my shoulders I can tell you
Oma we have been promising ourselves that we would get around to doing some shredding as we have loads to do. We leave it so long that we have to let our shredder 'cool down ' mid shredding as it may well over heat.
We have got DS coming here to stay the weekend as its his birthday today and I am going to cook a Sunday lunch for him tomorrow. ( I will be serving more than just one sausage )
Arelaxing day for me thank goodness DS is at the Caravan and Dd taking eldest on a a Hallowee train so no chance of any interruptions lol
Doubt I will get on til late tomorrow OH has a ct scan at lunchtime, going on the bus no parking in Leeds well not cheap enough but it’s Sunday service so not many buses in our village will therefore be an early start, but as a treat we are having lunch in town and a bit of Xmas shopping, isn’t it strange from many years ago where there was no shops open on a Sunday and certain
y not an x ray on a Sunday !
Happy birthday to your son Mimi 🙂 enjoy lunch , sausage overload ?
Gem hope it’s worth getting up early for , I’m sure it will be
I don’t know much about dogs and fireworks , I do know my Dd dog has
little wees all over the house when the bangers go off 😒
Nan enjoy your holiday I won’t be far behind you 🏖
Good afternoon all.
I'm being kept busy, busy at DD's so can only pop in briefly. It's not too bad a day here though a bit chilly on the morning dog walk.
Hope you are all having as good a day as possible.
I hope to contribute a bit more when we're home next week.xx
PS Off to mend GD's blazer lining-see what I mean about busy
Around here we have had fireworks fir the last two weeks due to Diwali. They are very noisy, very spectacular and I think probably very expensive! My dear old cat used to be petrified and I used to make him a nest under the bed with big heavy blankets and pillows. He would stay there for hours.
I got up at 6am today (I could do with going back) read the paper on line, went to supermarket to get few bits, came home, hung washing, cleaned kitchen to within and inch of its life, then got the hissy spitty flat thing out. The deal is that if I work four days instead of five I have to economise so I don’t take all of the ironing to my fairy. Funny how I am cramming five days into four and doing all the economising/habit changing as well!! I have taken the covers off some cushions as the cushions are getting flat and I am going to send them to textile recycling and took the covers off the good ones as well and I have had an explosion of feathers. I sucked them up with the thingie but the little blighters keep creeping back.
I am just about to make a lasagne for dinner. See picture of new wallpaper, pattern looks gold in some lights and green in other light. Husband
will put the mirror, shelf and fire up tomorrow and then we will be steam cleaning the carpet which fills me with dread as last time we steam cleaned anything (stair carpet) he was typical man and knew how to do it without looking at the instructions and soaked one of the steps completely. When I “gently” mentioned that last night he told me quite firmly “that was then, I know how to do it now” mmmmm we will see.

Curtain man been this morning....had to have a sit down when I got estimate, but we can't sit without curtains or blinds for the rest of our days, so estimate accepted! That's the problem with having large windows, needs lots of material which isn't cheap these days, especially the decent stuff.
Glorious day here again.
Went to library this morning and there was a man in returning books and paying a fine...£20, so the books were very overdue. He only wanted to keep the books as " he'd paid for them"! Couldn't believe my ears! Took his children to explain that wasn't how it worked!
Zizi....we're having the carpets cleaned by a professional! Leaving nothing to chance with OH!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

I'm sure you are having a lovely time at your DD's Clover.
Plant, someone to sort out your borders is a good idea.
I like that wallpaper Zizi.
The coffee morning started off really quietly. It being on the edge of the village rather than in the hub didn't help. Added to which, no sign outside I don't know whose job is was, but not mine. Anyway, OH popped home, brought our children's easel with blackboard on one side and magnetic board on the other. We had a chalked sign and one made of magnetic letters on the other. Another member brought a wooden A board with handwritten sign. These certainly helped to draw people in.
We were busy, I was on secondhand books. I don't yet know how much we made. Daisy, I thought it was worth putting it on my own FB page, and I also put it in the page for our village.
I had a look around the stalls of course. I came home with - 4 lots of biscuits, made by the lovely WI ladies on our committee, who bake yummy things, a pair of earrings, a Reading Cushion for GD, and 4 handmade cards! I should have left my purse at home
OH and I are going out again tonight. A group of us out on yet another birthday meal. This is the last of the year for this group. No more until February.

The sun seems to have given up on today - it was lovely earlier!
On the subject of crumbs in knife drawers, I find it helps if I can persuade OH to shut the drawer while he's sawing away at a 600g loaf! Needless to say, it's always full of crumbs but if I moan too much he might find he can't make sandwiches any more! LOL Mind you it's not as bad as the mess we have if he uses the shredder in the living room while watching tv.
Mimi - glad to be of service and taken a weight off your mad-woman shoulders. Enjoy your DS's birthday week-end.
Qwerty - it sounds as though your DD's little doggy gets a sort of stress incontinence when she frightened.
Clover - I'm sure you're having a lovely time at your DDs, even though you are keeping busy. Have a lovely time. Is GD enjoying New York? When does she get back?
Plant - I would find it very hard to cast out any of my carefully chosen plants unless they were utterly ruthless thugs.
WG - hopefully the curtains will last for many years, then the cost per year won't seem so bad. Our last ones were incredibly expensive but lasted 26 years. We bought much cheaper ones this time! I bet the children of theman in the library were really embarrassed by his behaviour!
Zizi - another busy day! I like the wallpaper - it looks more green than gold on my screen, and would look great in our living room!
Gem - I'm glad business picked up at your coffee morning - the signs are essential, aren't they! Enjoy your night out tonight.
I was a good girl this morning - waving the sucky up thingy around upstairs, flapped a duster about a bit, did a couple of loads of washing and had a bit of a sit down after lunch. I'm going into the summerhouse now to do some more on my project.

It is very striking wallpaper ladies and, as I say it depends on the light. At the moment it doesn’t look gold or green it looks sort of dark beige. To the husband who is colour blind anyway it permanently looks yellow, hopeless bloke! We got it from Groupon for an excellent price and we have three rolls left. He says we should put it in our bedroom when we get that far but I don’t want to, I will have that argument another day. I will post another picture when the bits are on the wall.
Tomorrow I have to do a quick Superdrug trip as himself forgot to tell me he had run out of deodorant and I also need to get a couple of bits for holiday. Then I need to get some lasagne from little Sainsbury. I made the meat sauce and the cheese sauce and found I only had three sheets of pasta. Now I don’t want it to sound like I have a down on my husband person today but when I say “ can you check the lasagne in case I need to get some more” I do actually expect him to look IN the box not AT the box and expect it to be full! So it is chicken Kiev for dinner tonight instead and lasagne on Monday. I also have a huge bag of charity shop stuff to deliver. I am not good at disposing of clothes (even worse at disposing of shoes and handbags) however I thought about how my job has changed and how I no longer have to dress so formally and I have chucked loads of skirts and dresses into the charity bag, some only worn once or twice. I have kept all my jackets though as they can be worn with chinos or jeans can’t they? I have kept three plain ish straight jersey skirts and the flowing ones you can wear over boots during the winter, also kept some “going out” dresses, not that we go out much!!
Other than that I have spent an absolutely riveting 40 minutes cutting and filing my nails. They have become very long and I wouldn’t usually chop them but I know that if I don’t they will start to split before holiday and then I will be cross.
Noticed in the bath this morning some lovely dark purple bruises on my arms where the elastic thing was put around my arms for blood tests and canulas in hospital this week, don’t hurt, just very dark and I suspect quite deep. Husband says I am a princess as in princess and the pea.......
