Afternoon ladies really hot and sunny here. Best news ever ( drum roll please) my baby girl is going home on Wednesday. We are all aware she is far from my old T but SIL had hour long meeting with Doctors, nurses and OT this morning to arrange and looking to put strategies in place for us all to manage her needs. Still a journey but made our goal of getting her home. 🍸😄

Libra that’s wonderful news about T. A long journey certainly but you’re well on the way.
I’ve had a busy day. Started by de-frosting my old “extras” freezer in the garage. Took ages to de-ice but all back in now and hopefully will go on for a good while yet. It’s always a bit nail-biting waiting to see if it will freeze again
Then I did a washing load and gave the bathroom a good going over ( not before time I might add)
The kitchen floor was next and a hoover through the downstairs.
A coffee break with OH then watered some plants that were crying out for a drink.
We had cheese toasties for lunch. then a walk which took longer than expected as stopped to chat to a couple of people who we’ve never met before but were very chatty.
Home to get washing in and start preparing tea.
Texted DD to find out how GD got on with her first GCSE exam today. She said it went O.K -phew thank goodness.
Hope you’ve all had a good day.Enjoy your evening.

What a beautiful day it's been - lovely and sunny, but with a slight breeze keeping the air fresh.
My DS2 is still off work ill, although he says he's going back tomorrow, better or not, so I took GD2 straight back to their house after playgroup. Cooper gave me the most wonderful welcome - honestly if you've never been loved by an enthusiastic Viszla puppy you don't know what you're missing!!!!! He's growing like a weed. When they first moved into their new house, all of 4 weeks ago, he had to climb on an armchair to look out of the small living room window onto the garden. Now he can stand on the floor and rest his chin on the window sill. And he could be growing for possibly another 12 months!
Enfys - we once took our GSs to Bovington Tank Museum. OH thought it was very interesting. I'm afraid the only thing the GSs and I found interesting was the exit! The admission price included free entry for the following 12 months, so every time we were trying to decide where to go we'd say to the boys 'hurry up and make your minds up, or we'll go to the Tank Museum' It's still a joke - behave or we'll go to the tank museum type of thing! What are you working on in your Art Group?
Another busy day for you, Plant. Do you do much embroidery?
Gem - good luck in the pub quiz! Red geraniums in terracotta pots always make me think of France.
Oma - we're having the same problem with the sticky tree bits. They get trodden all round the house and stick to the dog's paws.
Libra - it must feel wonderful to know that T will soon be back where she belongs, in her own home with her family. xxx
Clover - what a busy girl you've been, but the walk must have been refreshing after all that work. I do hope your GD's GCSEs go well. That first one is always nerve racking, so you must be pleased that she thinks it went ok. Good luck to her for the ones to follow. I always feel for students at this time of year - they're under so much more pressure than we ever were.
Nanto - I hope the weather forecast is right - it usually rains when we go away!

Hope everyone's better after their falls & migraine attack. I'm off for my hearing test tomoro. I think I might have to have help with my hearing. Doesn't bother me as it's only like having to wear glasses.
* Sorry I seem to have missed a few pages. Oma I hope your GS's knee is better in no time. Daisy not long to go now. Libra I bet you can't wait for your T to get home. What a journey!Last edited by Nana; 15-05-2018, 12:05 AM."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Nana, i just put the pork/beef or lamb in the slow cooker and let it do it's thing.
It tastes just like meat roasted in the oven.
The only thing i don't like cooking in the slow cooker,is a chicken.
It seems to give off a smell that is awful.
If i'm doing a roast in the slow cooker,i always put a little bit of water in the bottom.
I don't want to scare you,but iv'e seen photos of damage caused by exploding slow cookers.
Apparantly, a bit of water in the bottom, helps to prevent this from happening.
Oh, and i always use slow cooker liners.
Wishing everyone a good day.Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone.
Qwerty, are you back yet?
GS1 from school today. 6 of us are going to another escape Room tonight, with a meal first. (Me, OH, all 3 DDs, and DD3's OH)
It is near DD1's house so I will stay there instead of coming home, and go from there.
I intend to sit in the garden for a while this morning, OH is playing golf. I must send out the minutes and reminder for next week's meeting too.
Have a nice day everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

What a lovely sunny morning but I am shut indoors windows and doors shut kitten minding as everyone else is at work. they don't like him to be shut in the utility for too long but I don't remember being asked if I would do this when they arrange to get another cat. He is quiet atm sunning and cleaning himself, I might be able to nip in the shower before he has one of his mad turns. I had in fact decided to catch a bus to put a cheque into the bank and do some gardening, Oh well.
I have never done a roast in the slow cooker, only ever done casseroles, might give it a go. How do you ladies thicken casseroles cooked in the slow cooker?
Pleased to hear all the injured and unwell people are mended.
I wear hearing aids Nana, the technology is very good now. I don't wear them when I am alone, just when I am n company and at a meeting, particularly with a speaker.
Talking of speakers, we had an excellent talk yesterday evening from a young woman who worked on the costumes for Game of Thrones and Elizabeth 1, she was so talented and gave an excellent talk, she mainly worked on the embellishments on the costumes, lots of beading and stump work.
Have a lovely day ladies enjoy the sunshine and think of me shut indoors. Have a good journey Daisy. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Hi Gem and ladies yes I’m back came back last night bit too tired to do anything unpacked, ate watched a new series on tv and was in bed by 10. 00 , I’m ok but have learnt my lesson that I can’t do what I used to and that includes carrrying four year olds , my face bruise is more black which I understandc is good , I feel like I have whiplash, fell on my side so caught my right boob, bruise on the right thigh , and stiff neck but must have put my hand out to either save myself or to hold J I can’t remember but the ache in the right wrist is subsiding but caught my thumb and the odd finger also, it’s ok until I move it in a certain direction. J is heavy I think when I started to fall forward he just got top heavy for me , my own fault for trying to reach the sea in exctiement
Oma I see your Dd is ok, and g/s it’s been a few days of falls hasnt it , it’s something I always dread is falling .
Well we had a lovely few days good to spend time with family we see plenty of them but never seem to have time for a good conversation and eat together, OH I will write a couple of paragraphs later , he was very quiet a lot of the time conversation was a bit one sided , but what lovely weather we had and I’m sure he felt better for that
Plant I know what you mean about animal sitting , we have been asked to look after my Dd dog, she has two but can’t manage both , the little one we are having is an old dog a little terrier no idea what breed exactly, he’s no bother , but I know now I have said yes for 2 weeks 😨 this could become a regular thing, I fail to understand why they have 2 dogs and then go to work full time 😕
Nana hope all goes well with the hearing test, my OH refuses he is going deaf , so won’t sort it I always prepare myself to repeat things 3 times 😌
I will catch up with other posts but washing machine is calling , soon back to it aren’t we 😟
Have a pleasant day all of youLast edited by Qwerty; 15-05-2018, 10:14 AM.
