I have just had my first cheese savoury sandwich (but in a pitta bread). It was divine! Thank you Oma. 😋

I hope B will be home soon Oma, discharge does take a time.

Mimi what a problem backache and heartburn, hope you get some relief soon.

Pleased to hear the garage are going to provide a locking nut Gemini, I wonder where mine is in my new car, must have a look.

I do hope your mother will feel fit enough to visit her friend Gemini.

An unwell Nana here today.😷 Sadly had to cancel sleepover & I suspect there will be tears & tantrums (& that's just Mummy). Full blown virus thing with the addition of a poorly tummy. OH got the letter from the hospital that we've been waiting for. All the heart scans are ok with no sign of damage or disease. You don't realise how much you worry til the worry is over eh? He's off to a well known supermarket now to see about a job. Stress free is what he needs.

Oma I'm really pleased that B will be home today. You're right tho' about missing your mobile fone. Mimi I hope your back gets better soon. There's too much been spoken about for me to reply to, especially feeling as I do today....thinking about you all. X

Oh Nana, you thought you had a cold coming, the children will be disappointed, hope you feel better soon. Scan results very good, you must be relieved and now you are sending your OH out to work.

Thanks Grauntie. Do you mind me asking who it is in your Avatar? Makes me smile...so jolly looking.

Thanks too Plant. Always a painful decision because I know they'll all be upset. I just couldn't physically manage. Neither do I want to pass this on to DD or her boys (6+ & 2+). I'm wheezing & coughing for England. Too right about OH, can't let them rest on their laurels.😂

For the first time in three weeks I’m beginning to think I might be over the worst. It was the flu which turned into a chest infection, pneumonia and general awfulness. Still after 24 boxes of tissues, antibiotics steroids, painkillers, the loss of half a stone and much misery I’m feeling that I’m not knocking on heaven’s (or hell’s) door.

(Wrote this earlier - didn’t finish)

After I wrote this I ended up in A&E. GP sent me to A&E and spent all day there. Now back at home. CT scan showed no clot which they suspected DG. But left lung is very crackly so I have another lot of antibiotics to mop up the remains of the pneumonia.

I have to say despite the long wait the care was superb. I do not know how those A&E staff cope. It must be like firefighting. Spanish Dr was superb, explained everything (even though I must have misheard some technical terms) he said I should be able to see Isaac in a few days unless I suddenly take a turn for the worse, really sympathised with my sadness at not seeing him.

I had a chest X-ray, ECG, blood test, CT scan and good care. But my blood ran cold at the thought of what it would have been like if this was America.

The A&E was something else, two lots of prisoners handcuffed to Serco guards, people with mental heath problems, three or four men who looked like rough sleepers, screaming babies in distress, some obviously very poorly people, three or four on crutches and a couple with spectacular wounds. And others with problems which were not obvious. I truly do not know how they cope.’

Still totally exhausted and Dr says it will take three to six months to get over it all especially the awful weakness and fatigue. Poor T has done everything for the last three weeks, he’s over the flu and didn’t get the pneumonia but he’s still weary. Still I think the worst is behind me now

I’ve been very low in spirits as, apart from the briefest of glimpses I haven’t been able to see Isaac or indeed any of the boys. I saw the Dr again today and have more steroids. She said ‘My word, that was a nasty dose of pneumonia ‘ I have yet more steroids and if the cough goes next week, I shall finally be able to Isaac.

My goodness Sum1Ls you have had a nasty time and you can't afford to loose half a stone. the children must be missing you and of course you can't wait for a cuddle with the new baby. do hope you will start feeling better soon. You certainly see some very bad cases in A&E, I don't know hope they cope.

You've certainly been through the mill SumLs. Hopefully, you've turned the corner now and are on the road to recovery. Fingers etc crossed that cough goes and you can finally have that first cuddle with Isaac and indeed with the other boys too!

Last time I went to A&E there was a young chap with a bandage round his head and carefully holding a plastic bag. Turns out someone had bitten his ear off and it was in the bag in ice!!! he was having to wait until the next morning because there was no one who could re-attach it! I agree with you about wondering how the staff manage. It's certainly not a job for the faint hearted. It's an eye-opener just sitting watching and waiting.

                      Take care of yourself.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

I do hope you are soon feeling at least a little better if not fully 100% xx
