Mimi, your poor DS .That hand must be so painful. I hope it feels better really soon.
It's a gloomy day here and a bit drizzly. I want/ need to catch up on a few general jobs round the house and do some cooking. Once I've got going it'll be alright but sitting here with a coffee isn't very conducive to motivation.

Gloomy here too Clover, sewing and another try at crochet perhaps.

Must be difficult to shut your own hand in a car door Mimi, hope the pain wears off soon

Morning ladies been shopping then went to pick my glasses up , I know the optician said my prescription had changed but goodness I seen the difference when I put the new ones on , everything looked as sharp as a pin . You don't notice when you have your old glasses you think everything is normal don't you ,

Mimi have you heard how DS hand is now ? Maybe he should have gone to drop in centre , you can still move your hand and fingers with a fracture

Gem sounds like a lovely day planned and picnic in the park will be great for the children they don't feel the cold , but no sitting on wet grass or rolling down hills 😊.

Clover it's fatal sitting down as you don't want to get up again 😀

Plant how's your crocheting coming along are you making anything ?

Good morning, ladies. Doris is shaking her skirts a bit round here, but not too cold. I've finally bullied OH into going to the doctors so he can listen to his hacking cough! Why are men laid low by man 'flu, but when they really need to go to the doctors they are suddenly 'ok'!!

We've got dog training today, but otherwise a quiet day - so far!! Clover - same here, coffee and no motivation. The house is covered in toys - both children's and dog's - but I'm doing nothing today except get meals ready!

Mimi - I hope your DS's hand is ok. It sounds really painful.

Plant - interested to know how the crochet goes today.

Gem - I hope you don't all get blown away in the park - have a lovely time.

Oma - I hope your recent decorating still looks ok with your new glasses!!

Oma, now you have got your new ' all singing, all dancing ' glasses you will be able to see every tiny speck of dust that you might have missed with your old glasses!!!
How I loved rolling down the grass hills when I was a child, simple pleasures 'eh ?
DS's hand is just a bit numb now, he says it's the tip of his one finger that seems to have come out the worse. He has got two days off work now so it should heal quite nicely now.
Still no sign of the gas men !

Mention no names but the ladies from the North had fun when they had to sit on the grass.

By the way Miss Saigon is on at the Hippodrome Bimingham in Sept. but I expect most of you will have seen it.

The answer to your questions have I made anything yet, the answer is no, trying hard to make a square atm

Beautiful sunshine here today. Had washing out in the wind, and it dried lovely. Some of the pegs kept coming though.

Yes Oma, it really makes a difference when you get new specs, even if you think the old ones were OK.

Oma, I don't like getting new specs......my wrinkles show up more . Very blowy here today, so just food shopping this morning and tidying up and cleaning this afternoon. Took delivery of some new fence panels so DH has a nice job waiting for him.

OH went to the doctor's this morning. I gather the conversation went something like "Good cough-cough morning, how can I cough-cough help you?"

"Good cough-cough morning doctor. I've got a cough-cough cough". "How cough-cough long have you cough-cough had it?" "About two cough-cough weeks, and it's not getting cough-cough any better." You get the picture!

The upshot was - it's viral, his chest is clear but "come back in 6 weeks if you're still coughing and have a chest X-ray. I've had mine 4 weeks already and mine hasn't improved either!"

I remember accompanying my dear dad to his Drs when he was no longer able to go on his own.
I went into the consulting room with him as by now dad's hearing and site had deteriorated quite a lot.
Converstion between dad and the dr went something like this
                          Dr. " Hello Mr * , what can I do for you ? "
Dad " I've come about my hearing "
                          Dr " Your urine ? "
                          Dad " Pardon?"
                          Dr. " Ah , your hearing "
Dad " No , not my urine , my hearing "
Dr. " I see you mean your urine "
Its about then I stepped in and simply said
" Dad doesn't hear very well at the moment, he thinks he needs his years syringed " ( and so do you I thought to myself)

I have just made an appointment on line for a bra fitting at M and S next Wednesday. I didn't even know you could book for something like that, I only came across it by accident when I was looking for some new bras. All of mine are suffering from constant wearing and washing, it's ages since I brought new ones. As baby GS is being Christened next month and I have a new outfit to wear I think my old bras will let me down ( no pun intended) 😆

We had a nice day, and all went well, apart from driving home which took a very long time due to broken lorry slowing traffic down on our way back. All children got on and the baby was lovely as always. he had his first swing (which I didn't realise until DD told me!) It was very windy and we had to keep telling the children to keep hold of their food. Crisps went flying off
It was a bit manic back here with so many children and the 2 younger ones have very loud voices! My GD has a very quiet voice so it's a shock LOL. They were all good and stayed downstairs when I said no one should go upstairs while the baby had his 2 hour nap though.

I was measured by M&S for a bra once. When DD3 was in her early teens I took her to be measured and decided I may as well be as well. I have put weight on since then however!

                            So many damned viruses about!

Mimi - I hope your bra fitting experience is better than mine! I selected the bra I wanted, in the size that looked right, and asked the assistant if I could be measured. So off we went to a fitting room, she took measurements I would never have thought of and said I was way out with the size. She went to get the correct size, which visibly didn't fit, neither did the next one, and I ended up with the one I'd picked first which 'looked' right, and a rather grumpy assistant.

The next time I went to JL, taking along my SIL who is a trained bra fitter. She measured me but none of the ones we chose in the 'right' size fitted and we agreed in the end on a completely different bra and cup size!

I think I must be unlucky with tape measures.

I bet your Dad came away from the doctors very puzzled.

Gem - You've certainly had a hectic day, but how lovely that all the children got on so well. I bet they all sleep well after that fresh air.
