Mimi, that is the style of bag i would buy.

While out shopping today,we were in Wilko's, someone said hello to me. I replied hello Mary.
We stood chatting for ages, while hubby looked round the store.
As we left the store,he asked who it was i was talking to. I said it was Mary.he asked where did i know her from.
I said i don't know but i know her. Well, i have thought about her all day, but still can't think where i know her from.

Mimi - I do like your new bag - and it looks very expensive. A lovely colour for spring, too. You've had a good day of bargains!

Clover - I bet the rough sea was spectacular. I could watch it all day, too.

Oma - I hope your leaves dried out.

Plant - I only saw the last 15 minutes of the England game, but it looked as though we were lucky to win. We'll have to do better for the next one!

Gem - I hope your cold is soon better.

Nanto - that happens to me as well - I know someone but can't recall why! Still I'm sure you were pleased to see each other. It's amazing where you meet people. Two of our close friends are currently on holiday in the Canaries, and texted to say that they found they have booked into the same hotel as two of our other friends! The 2 sets of friends only know each other through us, but I can imagine the surprise when they bumped into each other!

Not long after we moved here I was pushing GD in her buggy and a lady spoke to me calling me by name. I just couldn't work out who it was, and didn't want to try to pretend so I said 'I'm sorry I just can't remember where I know you from!'. She replied that she was K, and lived behind us. I felt rather silly.

              Good morning everyone.
I am armed with soft tissues and Olbas oil!
We are going to friends today for lunch. I hope the sneezing has now passed! We haven't seen these friends since New Years Eve, and this meal has been planned for weeks.
              Have a happy Sunday everyone.

                Good Sunday morning.

Another damp day here, but not cold, so I shall try and get out in the greenhouse later. It's quite pleasantly warm in there at the moment. I also need to do some cooking - treats for Eva and a big batch of mince for the freezer. Does anybody know if it's ok to put mince in the slow cooker?

Gem - I hope you don't need too many of those tissues, but have a lovely lunch.

What is everybody else doing today?

Damp and dreary here too, so indoor jobs for us. Daisy, I have made bolognese in the slow cooker so you should be fine with mince, on a low setting.

just had a lovely long chat with DS on FaceTime, so nice to hear all their news. They have just bought another house, a holiday home very near the beach in a lovely quiet area about an hour from where they live. Pleased for them but sad a little bit as I know now that they have no thoughts of returning here. Ho hum, but I am thinking of our little holidays we have planned this year and of course, our GRus get together .

Good morning ladies its another dull damp day here. We have just come in from a walk and the field at the back of us is in flood .
Plant that sounds lovely, I've never been to a baby shower.

We had a lovely evening with OH's sister and BIL, our niece and her husband were there also so we had a good catch up. It was lovely to have an evening with no TV, no mobile phones and no browsing the internet, just good old fashioned chat .
                          Have a lovely Sunday ladies

Well what started as a lazy day has been far from lazy ,
We met friends for a coffee sat chatting for couple of hours then went to pick my Laptop up , came home had a light lunch then as the sun was out i decided to tackle the front and back ,
Boy was it a mistake i now can hardly walk my back is breaking , i got the garden vax out and sucked all the leaves up from down the side of the house and the drive first and swept the drive as best i could then i got my old hoover out i use for the grass and sucked all the leaves and rubbish out of the edges of the two drains at the front . they have drain covers on but still catch a lot of rubbish .
Then i hoovered the grass and swept the Patio by this time i was exhausted put hoover in shed and had a bit tidy around in there went to empty the Garden vax into the bin and the bag holding all the leaves and twigs split all over the path
I DIDNT KNOW IF I SHOULD LAUGH OR CRY . I decided to swear instead ,( words no decent woman should know let alone use ) talk about potty mouth its all cleared up now but you know when your so worn out you shake , im feeling like that so hubby made me a sweet coffee , i dont drink a lot of coffee but i needed this even if it was like drinking a bag of sugar .yuk .I am doing nothing more today im getting too old for this malarky , a bit each day would get it all done just the same wouldnt it .
Daisy how you keep your allotment going you must be fit as i know when we had one it was back breaking sometimes ,although i did enjoy potting up in the greenhouse

I have spent three hours going through all the emails, correspondence and texts re the kitchen fiasco. The kitchen company offered us £950 compensation. When you consider that husband person used "toil days" which if cashed in would total more than £950 it is a very low offer. Plus the almost 12 weeks of disruption and complete upset. I think they offer a standard amount as a full and final offer thinking that people will just take it to avoid the hassle. They have even had the cheek, when I sent them a recorded dlivery letter to tell them to stuff it somewhere (only in different words), to say that they put the problems right at their own expense! Well whose expense should it be then? They also said that it was obvious we could not reach an amicable settlement. Well how can you reach an amicable settlement if you get a "full and final offer" of £950. The words "amicable settlement" means negotiation which they haven't even entered into.

So after doing all of that I am very fired up. I do not recommend that anyone crosses me right now as I might take it all out on the first person that annoys me. I didn't exactly forget how awful it was but looking at the emails and letters and responses reminds me of just how very difficult it all was and has made me even more determined that I am going to make them pay. I originally asked for £3,500 compensation, this was when they asked me to detail it all but they have ignored that. I wasn't really expecting that much but what they have offered is vinegar in the wound.

I don't even love the kitchen, I never got my WOW. People walk in and admire it and even someone from over the road mentioned that she noticed when my light was on the other day how space age it looks. We had a flat evaluation (again) as part of our pension plans and the estate agent said that the kitchen was the room that would sell the flat. The rest of the flat is a tip ..... No it isn't really, we have had new triple glazed Windows, UPVC sills, air conditioning, central heating, boiler, NEST CH control, soffits, gutters and things and eventually we will reinstate the programme of works we were going to have before the kitchen rubbish which is: new flooring in bedrooms, bespoke fitted wardrobe/storage in our room, full replastering and decoration in all rooms (except kitchen which has been done), and new furniture in the childrens room. I just cannot face workmen in the flat right now,
