Oma - poor B - and poor you. I do hope he doesn't need another transfusion. I know you're always very positive, and we have to remember it is still very early days - he was expected to still be in hospital until after Christmas. If he has no appetite for solid food is he having Complan-type drinks to give him the nutrition he needs.

Big hug - let us know what the hospital said about the transfusion. xxx

Daisy he can't stomach those type of drinks we have tried everything over the last 4 years , it's only 4 weeks since the Transplant and they still getting the right drugs and right dosage to work , as Dr said today everyone is different it's all a matter of juggling at the minute , He has ate a meal at tea time then a pudding so today is a good day for him 😊 In a way I'm not worried as he always loses lots of weight then regains it when his taste buds return but i don't like him not eating . We still can't believe he's home so that's a bonus 😊

Oma - what a shame he can't manage the protein drinks, but as you say he's done so well to be home at all so quickly. He's done well to have a meal and pudding for his tea - well done, Brian. xx I hope they get the drug doses right quickly.

Pearl - it's lovely to hear from you, although I'mn sorry your OH has missed most of Christmas with the lurgy.

I love this short lull between Christmas and New Year - time to recover and get ready for NYE.

                    Good morning everyone.
Lovely to see you Pearl, but sorry to hear your OH has been ill. I have sent you a PM, or I will once this is posted.
Oma, can you get B to have soups? You can always add potatoes and chicken to give extra calories and nutrition. I know when, on the rare occasions I couldn't eat, I could manage yogurts and soup.
By 2pm it will be 48 hours since I was sick, so officially non infectious! I will go to see my mum this afternoon, and pick up any shopping she may need.

Very cold but sunny here. Popped over to DDs this morning as she is not very well and had run out of milk. Otherwise DH is playing with the new TV, boys and their toys

We went out early this morning (early for me, not like early for Oma) to get a few bits and pieces for tomorrow night, and it was perishing cold. It's taken me nearly all day to get warm again.

My absolute joy this evening is - I'm going to wash the kitchen floor. It's horrible, like walking on treacle, UGH!!!

Plant - I hope you didn't get cold going out to the clinic today.

Oma - does Brian like soya milk or any of those other non-dairy 'milks'?

Gem - glad you're out of quarantine. I bet your mum was pleased to see you. xx

Mum was pleased to see me Daisy I took her an audio book from the library and her weekly TV magazine. We bought her an electric blanket as part of her Christmas present. I helped her fit it this afternoon then remade her bed for her, as she was exhausted! She easily tires but does revives well after a rest. Most things are an effort when you are 88 I think!

I hate milk Oma (but love cheese!) I have my drinks black but almond milk on my cereal. It's nice!

I will have to wash the kitchen floor tomorrow Daisy. With the steamer it is actually no effort though
