Nana - your ironing basket and mine must be twins. There are still summer clothes lurking in there somewhere. But I once read that when you put summer clothes away (ie folded up and in storage containers!) you shouldn't iron them first. So really all I've got to do is put them in one of those plastic zip up bag thingies.

I would love my house to look like Oma's must look - but I start to do some cleaning and then lose interest after slaving away for 5 minutes or so!

Daisy, it's not just our ironing baskets that are twins. It sounds like we are. 'Soon' I hope to iron & get summer clothes put in the loft as you suggested. Then again I might not do anything & they'll be ready to take out of the basket at summertime. It might take that long to get around to it.

That sounds about right, Nana. And just think of all the work we'll have saved by not ironing all that summer stuff!

Good morning Oma, Pearl and everyone.

It sounds as though you've both had a sstormy night. It's a bit windy down here too, but not on that scale - and the sun is shining. Mind you last time I said that it disappeared for 3 days!!!

Back to dog training classes for us and Eva today. I bet we've forgotten everything we've learnt and Eva will show us up by being really good!!!

                  Good morning everyone.
Really windy here too, all night.
I hope you get a nap today Oma.

We will get out for a bit today, but not for a walk, too windy! 2 friends are calling to see us this afternoon, and maybe DD2 and baby I cannot wait to see him. I hope he hasn't forgotten me, but even if he has, he is a baby who loves everyone, and reaches out to friendly strangers, wanting to go to them!!

Gem - good morning! I hope you slept better last night. Getting out for a while will do you good, plus a good chat with your friends this afternoon. Of course GS2 won't have forgotten you - and you'll have wonderful cuddles. xx

Right , first things first....Daisy you must never speak of the S word.... it will only go and hide behind a cloud for the day or even days. 😆😉
Good morning all. It's also very windy here. It whistled around the flat keeping me awake. We have double glazing on our windows and doors and we can't find a draugh anywhere but when the wind gets up old Whistling Jack Smith ( remember the 'singer' back in the 60s) returns. We have spoken to the neighbours about it and they also get it. We can only think it's from when the flats we modernised a thermal coating was put on the outer walls and the wind is getting through that ! It's can only be heard from the fronts of the flats !
I am sat waiting for the gas man to arrive to service the boiler. I wish he would get a move on as I need to pop out . I hate waiting in for people.
my lovely neighbour brought me a plant yesterday as a thank you for looking after her cats over the Christmas and New Year which was totally unnecessary but lovely none the less. When the weather improves it will take pride of place on the patio.

Hope you are all well. I'm going to stand by the window and look for the gas man because my stupid brain thinks by doing this it will hasten the gas man's appearance!

You all crack me up sometimes!

Mimi - I saw a photo of the plant elsewhere. Is it an olive? If so they are frost hardy to about -5C, so the nursery told me when I got one for our friends who own the paddock we exercise the dog in. I was surpirsed they're that hardy because I always associate them with the Mediterranean - and lots of that S stuff I mustn't mention. Actually, Mimi - you are right again. I haven't mentioned the S word since first thing and it's still here. Clever girl.

We have had some of the S word too! Also a parcel I expected arrived before we went out, not just as we have driven off, as usually happens

Its a lavender plant but it is in a terracotta pot and as the plant as been kept in a warm shop I thought I'd better keep in in doors in a cool room till all this colder weather has passed. Lavender is a hardly plant but I thought I'd better be cautious.
