Oh lordy Oma glad you and Brian are safe, good luck for his chemo. Hurricane Henry is due here tonight, so batten down the hatches. A working day for me today, tomorrow and Friday then 2 weeks off so won't grumble. Happy February everyone, soon be spring.

Went up to town for a meeting with a charity which manages admin apprenticeships for young people. I was walking down the steps at Waterloo when this young person in a hoodie threw himself down the steps, he hardly touched the steps and shocked everyone with his speed. He was quickly followed by a rather podgy policeman. Clearly he was either a fare dodger or thief (those are probably the same things now I think about it). I did not think Mr Podgy Policeman would catch him but he did. I was waiting in the reception area of an office on the corner of the station and saw the young person being frogmarched to the seats outside a restaurant/café over the road. Now my question is this: why did it take a total of fifteen police people to deal with the situation when he was clearly already subdued. I counted them as they came and went and at the least there were seven there at one time. If the police are so short of funds why did they send three police cars and a big van? I am sure there is a logical answer but I am afraid it did not look good to the general public.

Came home to find the scaffolding has gone - relief! I was going to put a note on the scaffolding to ask them not to trample on the snowdrops but went out and forgot. Thank goodness the dear little things are completely un-trampled.

We once again have a vehicle parked outside which has been there for a week. We are all getting fed up with this now, if it isn't taxi drivers sitting out there and coming into the garden to use it as a toilet and chucking their rubbish out of the window it is people parking their cars and going off on holiday. I always check that the car/van is taxed and if it isn't I report it to the local authority as abandoned. I also put a note on the windscreen to say I have reported it. Gosh I am a bad tempered old bag today...............

Oma - I hope all goes well tomorrow and Wednesday for Brian's chemo. Give him a big hug from us lot! xx

Tax discs will soon be a thing of the past as renewals take place! Zizi - you could always report the cars as abandoned!!! I bet each person who thinks they're being clever avoiding airport charges thinks they are the only ones to do it and have no idea there are lots more nuisances out there!

Mimi - I hope your DS has had a lovely birthday.

Wow, all those policemen ZIZI, usually when you want one,you can't find one.

                      Busy few days for Qwerty.

Tax discs are a thing of the past Daisy. No longer issued. Libra you just tap in DVLA car tax or something similar, and put the reg number and make of vehicle and it will tell you whether the car is taxed, when the tax is due and the MOT date. It can also tell you how much tax is paid on the vehicle, for instance mine is £20 a year because of low emissions! If it cannot find the details it means the reg number is either wrong or it is not taxed. You can report the vehicle on that site or, better still, report it to the local council as abandoned and it will be removed.

Nan2 we recently had an attempted break in and the police were not in the least bit interested and the person I talked to actually told me that he didn't know why I was bothering to call!

                          Good morning, Nanto and everyone.

It's quite windy here, but I was hoping it would stay dry so I can do the jobs in the garden that are crying out for attention - but it's now trying to rain! If I'm not careful I shall have no option except tackle the ironing!

Zizi - LOL, I know they're no longer issued, but there seem to be a few odd ones still stuck to car windscreens! There was a news item when the new system came in about a lad who had a huge collection of tax discs and was devastated they were no longer being issued. Knowing how important GS1's various collections have been to him, I felt really sorry for the young man.

I must admit mine is still on the windscreen!

I am on my way up to town on the tube today. Was for one meeting now vastly increased to three, one of which is going to be mightily bad tempered ........

                                Good morning all.

Very windy here also. I see a large solar panel in the front garden opposite

Work for me this afternoon. It is a client that I go to (I prefer it when they come to me!) Only 3 miles away, and towards town, so hopefully I won't be blown away!
