Good morning from a very wet Poole, nothing planned for today. Babysitting tonight for little pink ones.

I'm having a catching-up day today, but not being very successful! It's been an exceptionally busy week and I have the GDs all day tomorrow because DS2 and DIL are working. I managed a bit of gardening during a brief spell of sunshine - but it didn't last long! I think I'll just give up on the idea of being superwoman today!!! LOL

Hello everyone, dark and dank outside. Spent a lot of time catching up on work today. Got to eat from the freezer this week to make room for the Boxing Day food I am going to get in for the big breakfast. Got plenty in there. Chilli for tomorrow, rack of lamb Sunday, bacon Joint during the week, carbonara one day, sausages, mince etc. Enough to keep an African village going for a week!

Going out tomorrow to see if I can break the back of my Christmas presents, I think I put elsewhere that I am very uneasy that I am so far behind. Got all the wrapping paper out to see if I need to buy any and the answer is no! I usually like to wrap all the dils things in one paper, sons in another and each of the children in different ones but I have so many rolls that are unused and half used that the OCD will have to take a bashing this year.

Busy week next week with one thing and another. Meeting on Monday with someone I suspect will be talking to me about a job ex-Company, school thing on Tuesday for "Giving Tuesday" at Kings' Cross Regen project, Birmingam University on Wednesday, Senior Leadership Team Meeting at Euston on Thursday and final meeting with secondment co ordinator Friday - don't they know who I am? I need to rest, I am a lady........

Zizi - as always, your working life leaves me reeling. After one of your typical days I think I'd need a week to recover!!! Respect indeed.

Don't worry about Christmas shopping. It's not even December yet!

Good morning all, its the lull before the storm here today, we are waiting for our 5 year old GS who is staying here for the weekend. Fingers crossed we don't have rain tomorrow as we are taking to him to a Christmas Fayre that is being held on the grounds of one of local parks, the Castle Green where Santa is going to be making an appearance.

Morning ladies up very early today had to get Josh up at 7 so could have breakfast and shower before DD picked him up for football at 8 so been very proactive cleaned all inside of windows and all mirrors (I love my karcher 😀) stripped both beds washed and dried them need to iron fresh bedding , washed floors and paintwork right through and washed sofas down , was going to clean outside windows frames and doors but it's started to drizzle so having a sit down and a cup of tea I think I have earned it, Josh lost his earring during night so I had a look under bed with the torch and there it was with a load of dust so will have to move bed before I make it but it's a super king size and can't manage myself rang SIL and he's calling in on way back from football to move it . Son in laws are a wonderful invention 😀

Oh shame Mimi, hopefully it will happen sometime before Christmas. I know from expire cr that these things take a lot of organising.

                      Hi everyone.
What a shame about the Christmas Fair Mimi.
It is raining and really dark here!!
I am cooking a roast pork dinner tonight. We had a largeish pork joint in the freezer which I got half price on a Tesco order. I need the freezer space for Christmas, so we invited 2 friends round to eat it with us!
The husband is diabetic, so I'm not doing a pud this time, just a nice cheeseboard.

We are having family Christmas breakfast (well it will be brunch really) on Boxing Day so I have ordered some bits to put in the freezer so this week we will be eating as much as possible out of the freezer to make room. I have ordered mini quiche, pigs in blankets, mini hot dogs and mozzerella stars and sticks with a mild dip. I shall get cook yourself mini croissants and cook bacon and eggs to go in nice fresh rolls from the baker. I shall do a cheese board and fruit but no pud just ice cream and sprinkles for the children and some squeeze yoghurt which they like.

As it will be earlyish I don't expect they will be drinking just maybe a Buck's Fizz or two and a big pot of coffee. I don't own a tea pot (neither of us drink tea) but I will put the kettle out and lots of herbal tea bags and Assam tea bags etc.

Tomorrow I am going to my storage unit to see if the Santa sacks actually arrived there, from there I will go to the pound shop to get some plastic store boxes as shortly after Christmas we will have new Windows put in and I am using that as my opportunity to store things in the loft. We have so much Olympic memorabilia including husbands gamesmaker training manuals and his whole uniform, socks, watch, trainers the lot. I have bought those sucky innie vacuum bags to put it all in but I want to make sure it won't all end up creased soI am going to get a roll of bubble wrap. I also have lots of paperwork from my secondment. I got rid of a lot of it but some of it is quite interesting and I want to keep it in case it comes in handy.

Got the Christmas card bag out today and found that there were hardly any in it! I know I bought a load after Christmas last year. Husband has had a look and thinks they have fallen behind the wardrobes in the childrens room (they were on the top). I will have to nip out and buy some more. We don't send that many and none between the family except my sisters and brothers. Don't send any to sons and dils at all.

A late in the day hello from me, the weather is exceedingly miserable and set so for a few days I believe.

It was the Christmas Fair in my DS2's town today, so I've been looking after the GDs while DS and DIL were at the shop. It was cold and windy but the rain didn't get heavy until 4 o'clock-ish - just in the middle of the parade through the town! I took the girls in at lunch-time and their other grandparents kindly took them round the Fair to give me a break. I'm shattered now, though. When did having fun get to be so tiring!!!

Mimi - what a shame your Christmas Fair was cancelled.

Zizi - you're getting very well organised.

Nanto - not long till Monday. Have you done your packing?

Such a shame about the weather Daisy, during the parade. Not packed yet, will do it later, only going for 3 nights, so not as much to pack this time.

Raining again now. Everything coming together for you ZIZI.
