Afternoon all very cold day, but no frost here. Been busy walking the dog, blitzed the kitchen, then went to have coffee and a chat with my friend. Off to school collect girls, drop to ballet help get changed, silly Daddy packed 1 balley shoe for T. How he imagined she would do ballet in one shoe heaven knows, told the girls their Dad couldn't pack a picnic which they thought hilarious. Tomorrow T's class aremaking kites and as neither DD or SIL can get away from work I will go in and help her, should be fun.

Today I bought a new printer because one of my others died. I have two. One is a printer that sits in a cupboard and can be used remotely and the other is the one that I can use with my work laptop through a USB and can be used remotely with my other computers. We are not allowed to wireless connect to printers unless they are work networked. Very annoying as the cupboard one is called "illegal" when I try to connect it. So bought a new Canon printer today and opened the package, no USB connection. Husband was in a nearby town getting his bus pass renewed as the picture has disappeared and, of course, with his eye problem and not driving he uses it a lot so I phoned him and he got me the correct cable. What a flipping faff! There were dead cheap printers and some expensive ones but they are all domestic and I do a lot of work printing. We made the decision to go with a medium priced one and at least this one prints double sided without having to remove the paper and reinsert it but it will also break down within a year.

I am feeling a bit stressed with work to be honest. I felt when I was seconded that I didn't matter, that my work wasn't recognised. Now it is all meetings and I feel I do not have the same job as before. I am just moaning really. I know everything will be OK when I get myself sorted out. Zizi - I abhor printers! They're always the weakest link in any computer system, and I can still remember the utter frustration of trying to get IT classes' work printed out before the end of a lesson and the printer would continually jam! That was years ago, but I don't think things are much better. I think most of them these days are disposable - the very cheapest ones cost less than a set of the refill cartridges. I do hope things improve with the way your job's going now - it must be very upsetting to feel that you did the secondment against your wishes and now your 'old' job has changed.

It's been bright here all day, but very cold and windy. I took GD2 and their dog out for a walk this morning and was relieved to get back indoors before we got blown off our feet - and paws.

          I hate printers too!

Libra, the kite making sounds fun.I'm sure T will love having Granny to help

The GC were excited to be here together. I took GS to our local library storytime after lunch, and he told everyone his best friend (really cousin LOL) was coming to Grandmas after school. They spent a long time 'mountaineering' on our stairs. Lots of screaming

Printers, bah, I have a wireless printer but the printer doesn't realise that and refuses to work. I now have a cable connection, even then it works when it feels like it.

Good morning everyone! It's quite breezy and dull here - hopefully not too breezy for LG's kite flying!!

Gem - I can just imagine the scene on your stairs. And the noise! How sweet that GS calls GD his best friend.

Plant - we have a wireless printer and OH is always having problems with it disconnecting itself, or pretending to be invisible ("no printer connected"). It works perfectly with my Mac and OH sometimes ends up emailing me something to print out for him!

I'm having a day off today. I'm meeting friends for coffee and lunch at the Golf Club one of them belongs to. It should be interesting watching the golfers from the warmth and comfort of the club house if this wind continues - the course is right up on the cliff tops overlooking the Solent and the Isle of Wight. Although, we're usually too busy chatting to spend long watching golf!

                  Good morning everyone.

Daisy, I know full well how you need and deserve a day off! Have a good chat with your friends, inside in the warm

I have a coffee date this morning too. With my lovely aunt. I think we will go to a farm shop cafe. Now she doesn't drive, those are the type of places she doesnt get to.
Usual Thursday stuff with my mum this afternoon.
OH is playing golf this afternoon, the first time since her wrist op. Once she was fit to play the incessant rain kept her off the course for several weeks. She has really missed her golf!

Lovely & sunny here at our 'holiday' place. We're at the top of a hill so the view's fantastic. Looking out over the town below & over to the sea at Saltburn. I laughed because you can see over the top of the golf course too. All the golfers ended up in the trees looking for their balls...very windy here😲

I think printers are like men, they sit there gathering dust but when you ask them to do a one simple task, they just ignore you completely.

I hope everyone is well this morning .
Our old sofa was collected by the local charity collectors yesterday but I had to feel sorry for the one young man . He kept winching and looking around him . He then asked could anyone hear the high pitch scream going off every few seconds. He said he could only hear it when he stood outside by our garden. It turned out it was the cat scarcer. Every time someone moved it would click (we could all hear that) but when that happens it's supposed to give off a high pitch noise that only cats can hear, but apparently he could also hear it. He said it was very uncomfortable, it stopped him concentrating and he couldn't wait to get into the van and move on.
I just wish it had the same affect on all the local cats around here. They just lie on my lawn, using the flower beds as their toilet , generally mocking it !

Well I very nearly had a serious D I S A S T E R - yesterday evening I was sitting at the table working and was just about to close the work laptop down and was multi tasking by taking off my nail polish when................. yep, spilled flipping acetate nail polish cleaner on the keyboard. Oh my goodness how was I going to explain that to my IT department??? How was I going to work?? Well luckily I do have a lot of my stuff on sticks as I don't trust our back up system for various reasons and I made the decision not to close it down reasoning that the acetate would dry very quickly unlike if I had spilt coke or something on it. So I left it on - it did go to sleep - and this morning all appears to be well except the capital letter light will not go on. PHEW dodged a bullet there I think.

Mimi years ago I had a cat who would crouch over a drain to do a wee and would only use a sawdust tray for the other. My last boy Georgie would only go in a tray in our shed. He didn't usually go out of the garden because he was old, had dementia and was daft as a brush. Unfortunately he did venture out when the fences blew down in high winds and we were waiting for new and silly old boy went in the road and got run over.
