    Good Thursday morning everyone.

Nanto, I hope your OH is ok, and you don't get it as well. My OH was in bed for 3 days with the recent bug he's had. Hopefully, I've escaped. (fingers crossed)

Plant, hope the electrician does a nice neat job for you.

Gem, a busy day for you by the sound of it.

I'm off out for coffee and lunch with college friends. I'm getting a lift today so I need to go and get ready, as this friend is very punctual. I've walked Eva, put washing out on the line (reckless, I know - it's sure to rain now) and done a few odd jobs. I got my new credit card very quickly but I'm still updating various contacts - this morning it was Eva's tablets.

I hope everyone else is ok. Back later. x

I am still battling with my new hearing aids, they will not stop whistling, I manage to stop it then off it goes again. I will ring them next week and make an appt to go when the audio lady is there. The electrician has finished fitting the new extractor fan in the loft for the shower, I haven’t got the bill yet. GD2 is coming home over the weekend to see the new baby. GD2 and her partner are going to be moving in with DD and Sil until they find another house to buy, they are very disappointed they lost the one they wanted.

Have a lovely time with your friends Daisy. Is your OH completely over the bug he had, it sometimes takes a while to get your strength back.

        Afternoon ladies,

        Nanto
Hope hubby only has a 24 hour bug but there’s lots going round.

        Plant
Hope you get them hearing aids sorted, it must be so annoying ,
        Did the Electrician take long?
Such a shame about the house but the right one will be out there for them.

        Gem
Are you having much taken off your hair or just a tidy up ?

        Daisy
Enjoy your lunch with friends .

Ive never stopped today , got up early put a dark wash on, and then had breakfast,
Once it was done and while that was in the tumble I did my usual housework.

We then went to MILs , was there almost 2 hours she had messed her I pad and email up so took forever to sort lord knows what she had done,

Came home had lunch then I tackled the drive, swept all the blossom and leaves up and killed a few weeds of with the gas gun thingy but they really need a root killer spray.

I then tackled the coat wardrobe , we were ruthless two huge IKEA bags full plus ball gowns on hangers to go ,
One coat a black cromby style I found a receipt in the pocket from 2013 , I think if I haven’t worn it in 11 years it can go 😁.

B asleep on the sofa this cough has him worn out and he’s feeling sickly so having a snooze , he’s had hardly any sleep for days now bless him.

Oma, my problem is that I have the space to keep things I can no longer get into. I am feeling I really must get this weight off and then I would have all these clothes (mainly troucers) that can get into again.

I do hope B can get rid of the virus and get some sleep, can’t have helped having to sort his mother’s I pad out.

Hallo everyone, Oma, try vinegar on the roots of the weeds when it is warm, that will kill them! It is used a lot here for drives etc. Oma, I bought a very expensive leather jacket in Hungary, 30 years ago, DH said he liked it so silly me bought it, it is still hung up in the wardrobe, I have worn it once!

Plant, I wonder why your aids whistle? If??? I wear mine whilst driving it makes an awful noise.

I didn't get any material yesterday Daisy, just had a look round, it was lovely weather, compared to this morning, drizzle! I have been to Zoetermeer, yet again, had an appointment at the TV/wi-fi provider, my mail isn't working right, they were not much help so went a few doors further to the Apple store, the man thinks it is to do with the age of my Mac, he could be right, in fact, I ordered a new one yesterday, this one works, but, not like it should. The new one will be delivered later today. Well, later today, could be 22-30 according to the site!

One of the instructors at the gym, a young man, has whooping cough! He started with it in December and is still coughing.

Goodness Lizzie I haven’t heard of anyone with whooping cough for ages.

You don't often hear about whooping cough do you? I think vaccination has more or eradicated it.

OH had to go back last year with her hearing aids due to annoying whistling. They fixed it easily I think.

I hope you have a nice lunch and get together Daisy.

Well done getting rid of stuff Oma. Poor B, fingers crossed he's on the mend soon, it's taking its time isn't it?

Baby asleep, although due to wake any moment. OH popped to Tesco ( as golf course closed) so it's quiet here.

Oma, poor B. He needs his sleep to build his strength up to shake off the last remnants of his cold, but if he's kept awake by coughing it becomes a viscous circle. Is he taking anything for the cough? Even if it was just at night to help him get more sleep it would be good. Well done on clearing out the coats and ball gowns you don't wear. I must do the same, although it's more likely to be jeans and dog walking rain coats for me!

Gem, S must be so fed up with the golf course being closed. I hope baby had a good sleep. Are you cooking tonight?

Lizzie, vinegar on weeds sounds a good idea. I'm much more tolerant of 'weeds' than I used to be, but sometimes they just have to go. I usually pour boiling water on them. I got a new Mac laptop just over a year ago because my desktop was going slower and slower and was 10 years old. I don't like using a laptop but it was cheaper than getting another desktop. The family got me a wireless keyboard, a magic mouse and a huge screen for my birthday so I have the best of both worlds - the peripherals stay on my desk, but I can take my laptop anywhere if I need to. Sometimes it's nice to have a browse round, and I bet you saw some material you liked in Zoetermeer.

Plant, I hope you can get your hearing aids sorted out next week - it must be very frustrating. Hopefully more houses will come onto the market now winter's (sort of) over, and GD2 and her partner can find one they like quickly - and have better luck than with the first one. If you've got spare wardrobe space, can I rent it out please?

Nanto - how is your hubby?

I was ready just before 11.30 this morning, so I thought I'd start walking round to the friend who was giving me a lift. I got all the way to their house (not far, to be fair) and was starting to worry she was ok because she is never late. Turned round and there she was, with her OH and their DD2's dog! They'd been asked to look after the dog last night because of work commitments today, and had just taken him out for a walk, She'd lost track of time and day! We had a good laugh, especially when I told her what I'd said on here this morning. . There were 7 of us at lunch, and I guess it's a reflection of our ages that ailments, operations etc were the starting point for our chats, plus one friend who had recently celebrated her 90th birthday with 4 days of celebrations, including a party, with a DJ, dancing and high jinks!

Daisy, the delivery has been moved to tomorrow evening! This (Mac) is 11 years old now and showing its age! I do prefer it to a MacBook though, like the screen, yours will be fine with a screen, DS2 has that in his studio.

I always use vinegar on the back path as it’s only a small area and easy to keep control ,
The drive is a lot bigger so a weed spray is better .

Good you got the Mac earlier than expected , was it easy to set up?

I love having a new gadget! Enjoy yours, Lizzie.

Oma, I seem to remember my new laptop last year was ready to use - no problem at all. I adjusted a couple of controls to how I like them and that was about it. I think our first meet up set the tone for the ones that followed. Lots of laughs, good company and great fun. Is it a celebration with GS and Lucie on Sunday, or just a lovely get together? Pleased B is feeling a bit better after his nap. xx

Nanto, I hope y our OH gets a good night's sleep and feels better in the morning.

Hubby is fine this morning. He slept a lot better and has had breakfast.

                                Lizzie, enjoy your new Mac.

There's a bit of a breeze this morning. Our azaleas are just flowering, hope the breeze doesn't blow the flowers off, the flowers only last for about 2 weeks as it is.

Not sure what's for dinner, I'll see if hubby has a preference.

Oma, hope B is better soon.
