    Oma How is B ?

Lizzie we also use vinegar in the garden. We find its really helpful in keeping the weeds at bay on our gravel beds . First sign of anything peeping through the gravel gets a blast of vinegar

Strangest thing going on with my right foot, it hurts when I walk. Its as though I've twisted my ankle but I don't recall hurting it. It isn't swollen doesn't hurt to touch , just hurts when I put weight on it. I suspect it's just another one of the trials and tribulations of getting older.

Yesterday was a very productive day. OH painted the fence. I assembled the new raised planter. Well when I say assembled what I really mean is I took it out of the box, attached the legs and stood it in the garden where its now waiting to be filled with potting compost and plants.
OH layed the old penny farthing stepping stones along the gravel beds in the front and back garden.

For the past few Tuesdays we have experienced our tap water turning dirty , with a muddy appearance. This was happening on and off throughout the day. At the same time a cleaning company van , with two men would appear at the standpipe located on the path just opposite our front door and I suspected that they were the cause of our water incident.
Last Tuesday I had ,had enough, the men had gone and the water was muddy again. Not ideal when we are having to constantly run the tap to get clean water bearing in mind that we have a water meter.
I rang Welsh water and they were extremely helpful. Apparently there a very few people who legally have access to the stand pipe. Welsh water, the fire service and registered companies who pay for the use of the stand pipe. They said that they would investigate it and within 24 hours they got back to me
They said that there wasn't any companies registered at the location of the stand pipe and a lock has been put on it now. The lady on the phone said that this isn't an unknown issue but it's usually a problem in the country area not within the city .

Hopefully if the weather stays as nice as it was yesterday I can catch up with the washing and then get on with a few more jobs outside.
Tesco delivery this morning, not sure what we're going to have for lunch something quick and easy if I'm any judge. Can't waste time being in the kitchen, I rather be outside!
    Have a good day everyone

Nan2, forgot to ask, how is hubby
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

        Good Friday morning ladies.

I'm glad your hubby is better Nan2.

I hope B is too Oma.

Too many random aches and pains seem to come with getting older Mimi!

GS1 is coming for a while this morning. His school has a teacher training day and DD has something on this morning. I have reflexology for a hour later but OH will be here and he's fine downstairs by himself for a while anyway.
Carpet fitter is coming late morning to lay the bathroom flooring (I will message you with an update on that Oma)
A different Friday afternoon routine this week. Instead of bringing GS2 back here, OH and I will take him to their house. We will look after him and GD while DD and SIL2 go out for an early evening meal. We four are having a takeaway delivered , so no cooking tonight

Busy day for you Gemini, you are certainly a hands on grandma. Enjoy your reflexology.

Pleased to hear all the OH’s are feeling better or are on the mend.

My new fan for the shower is ready and working for me to have a shower. I am expecting a delivery from a company called COOK, I have had some before and I enjoyed them. They have a shop in the town but it is difficult parking. I quite enjoy the meals and it saves me cooking for one.

Mimi, that was strange about the water meter, hopefully it will not happen again. You are very busy getting your garden straight, we must have a picture when it is finished.

Plant, having 4 GG in 3 families makes it busy! If they were one or 2 families it would be easier.

              My DD likes COOK Plant.

                Morning everyone

Just popped to Aldi , I didn’t get any kitchen roll when I went on Wednesday and I needed salad stuff.

B still coughing badly but started a course of antibiotics so fingers crossed it will help to clear anything that’s there.
Still getting little sleep with it but better last night than previous nights.

                Daisy
Its just a meal out with them on Saturday ,
We try to take them out every other week when they both have time of Uni together,

                Nanto

We have heard of cook but never looked into them , we did try to get MIL interested but she wasn’t so we have to cook for her,
We got the leaflets for a few meal companies for her to look through but they sat on the coffee table for weeks un looked at
So I finally scooped them up and put them in the recycle bin , then she said I was going to look through them πŸ™„

                Mimi
Last year I had the same with my Ankle, I couldn’t put weight on it . It felt like a stabbing pain.
Went to drop in centre and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it ,
It eventually eased over a few days but I’m still none the wiser what it was .

Thats strange about the water isn’t it, I wonder who they were.
Can you imagine if the water had run brown when you had your washing in 😱
watch out for next Tuesday see if they turn up again.

                Gem
Sometimes it’s easier to babysit at their house and it’s a change for you.
                Enjoy your reflexology

We off to our Martins after lunch we want to take Finns Easter present and Martin wants to chat to B,
He may be a grandad himself but he still needs his brother to talk too .

Its not a bad day out , not sunny but dry and bright for a change .

We are having a glorious day, Sil is repairing their log cabin. GD1 and H have just arrived with a small bulldog, her landlord should be looking after it but he has gone to play golf and she can’t resist animals so couldn’t leave it on it’s own. Can’t say I find it appealing (sorry Daisy). It is loving our big garden.

Hallo everyone, Mimi. we get a "special" cleaning vinegar here, at the moment you can get 5 ltr containers, sells really well for the weeds etc, I use it for the toilet etc etc.

A friend has just been for coffee, it was his son that went to America for a year, the family is going in June to pick him up, he was saying that he is really enjoying himself but misses home! He is only 16 years old so a child really. They fly to Montreal, the son and his "host" will meet them there, spend 5 days sightseeing together than travel to where the son is staying, it is New York State just over the border from Montreal, they spend a few days there then all fly home together.

I want to go to a shop in the next village for a few things I need.

A late good Friday morning from me today.

Nanto, so pleased your OH is feeling better. Once you can start to eat again it makes such a difference. I love azaleas. What colour are yours?

Mimi, well done for sorting your water problem out. And full marks to Welsh Water for being on the ball. That's rare with the utility companies these days. I agree - I'd much rather be outside gardening than doing any sort of household chores. I wonder why your foot was hurting if you haven't done any damage to it. Very odd, but then I occasionally get a sharp stabbing pain in my right knee and at exactly the same time have the same pain on the outside of my ankle. No idea why.

Gem, your childcare times sound just like mine were - never knew hat was happening from day to day sometimes! Your DDs are very lucky you are so involved and helpful. (I know you love all your GCs, but it's still hard work at times.)

Plant, I've heard of COOK and people do seem to like their meals. If it save you some cooking it will be great. x

Oma, I hope the antibiotics work quickly for B. He must be fed up with that cough. How lovely to have regular outings with GS1 and Lucie. I hope Martin and Claire are ok, and I'm sure Finn will give you a good welcome. It's good for M and B to spend time together.

Lizzie, the cleaning vinegar sounds a good idea. Sixteen is quite young to be so far from home, isn't it, but I'm sure your friend's son has had a marvellous time and will have lots of great adventures to tell his family about.

I'm getting washing done today -it's a good drying day. I've just put my study curtains in the machine - it's ages since I washed them. While I'm at it I'll give the room a good clean and tidy up. It would be nice to be gardening but it's a bit too wet today, even though the sun's shining on and off.

Daisy, I am surprised you say the sun has been shining on and off, we have had a very warm and sunny day. All the GC including the latest have been here and Sil cut the grass. Sil got all the garden furniture out of the cabin. GGD has chicken pox, fortunately all the other GC have had it and the adults. Baby T presumably will be covered by his mother. I am enjoying a pre-dinner G&T. A meal from Cook tonight so no cooking.

Daisy, one of the azaleas is what i call a baby pink pink.
The other one is a cerise colour.
You are right,it does make a difference when you start eating again.

Oma, hope the antibiotics kick in soon for B. Our Bro in law is on them for his cough.

We had a lovely afternoon with Martin & Clare and Finn is so adorably funny ,
He could say Uncle Brian no bother but when he said Uncle Bri he kept saying uncle Di 😁
He loved his Tesco delivery van and all the noises it made.

Clares mam is an Air paramedic , she’s been working in the local hospital , she said this cough going around is called the 100 day cough at the hospital , so many people have it .

Oma, I'm glad Finn enjoyed his Tesco van. I bet he'll have lots of fun with it. I've it heard it called the 100 day cough as well. That's a lot of coughing.

Plant, it kept clouding over, and was a bit misty most of the day. I've just got back from walking Eva and the mist has come down again.

Nanto, the azaleas sound so pretty. I try and visit Exbury Gardens in about 3-4 weeks time just to see their amazing azalias.

I've done quite a lot of sorting out in my study today, as well as washing all the bedding, throws and curtains. Still need to tidy my desk up though.

                                Good morning.

Oma, everyone is calling it the 100 day cough. That's 3 months of coughing.

Not going shopping today, hubby is planning on doing some gardening.

We will have a flutter on the Grand National. We will go to the betting shop, always have to get help filling out the betting slip.

Dinner will be a ready meal out of the freezer.
