Good Saturday morning, everyone. The sun's just come out - wonderful.

Nanto - I hope you win! Hopefully it will be a good day for gardening.

Oma, poor you. That sounds really painful. Do you know what brought it on? Does warmth help? Take care - no scrubbing floors today, young lady. xx

OH has got a friend coming this morning. They are going to chainsaw some logs - some for our wood burner and some for the friend who makes the mot luxurious fairy houses I've ever seen!

Unusual for me, but I couldn't get to sleep last night - I think I was just overtired, like a grumpy toddler. I want to get my study curtains ironed and up today and remake the beds. Then there's just my desk to tackle.

        Good morning everyone.

The 100 day cough sounds awful! I hope B and other sufferers feel better soon.

Oma, rest your poor hand, don't worry about posting here. Perhaps try ice (wrapped in a tea towel or something) alternated with heat?

Nan2, my mum always liked a bet on the Grand National.

Daisy, disturbed nights really do affect us the next day. At least the sun is out for you

I hope your GGD doesn't suffer too much with the chickenpox Plant.

Last night babysitting at DD2's we had nice time. GD was on good form, happy and chatty when we all ate together. Later GS2 taught us both to play his new Mario game on his Nintendo Switch via the TV. He said we were quite good . I used to play Super Mario years ago on a GameBoy so had a slight advantage! We then played a rather tedious and confusing board game based to the TV series Bluey. We did 2 rounds but GS could have gone on with it for hours!

No plans today. OH is popping out to Wickes for something to repair the cord which switches on the shower. It broke yesterday so its bath or nothing until it's fixed!
We are very happy with our new bathroom flooring.

          Afternoon all.

Oma arthritis is horrible isn't it, one minute you're going along with your usual daily routine and suddenly simple tasks become impossible.
Rest your hand and hopefully you will be pain-free soon.

OH had that 100 day cough last Christmas. He didn't feel completely better into well in the new year

OH has an appointment for a covid booster vaccination this month. I didn't realise it was still on offer twice a year for eligible people.

Today we have taken off the cover that was on our bench and table that was protecting it from the harsh winter weather. The cover is so big it takes two to fold it up .
All we need now is some nice warm dry weather.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Oma, hope your hand is pain free soon.

Hubby got the hedge done, and i wanted to do the grass, but rain has stopped play.

Been to the bookmakers to have a flutter on the Grand National.

Gem, what a lovely evening you had with GD and GS2. I bet GS2 tells his friends at school on Monday that he's got the coolest Grandma ever, playing Mario! What is your new bathroom flooring like? (Sorry if I've missed this.)

Plant, I'm sorry - I missed the info about your GGD having chickenpox. I know it can be really nasty, so I do hope GGD is ok. Are you having another sunny day? It's better here than yesterday - no mist and more sun.

Mimi, isn't it great when you uncover the garden furniture for the first time in the Spring. Promise of better weather to come (fingers crossed, of course).

Nanto, does the hedge look nice after its trim? Pity about your lawn, but perhaps tomorrow will be better.

Well, I've ironed the curtains and the liners - ready to hang now. Just going to tackle the next basket full.

Sorry Nanto but we are having another lovely day. I hope you have a win on the National.

Oma, You and B are having a bad time health wise, I hope B feels better soon and you are out of pain. Time for a holiday with some sunshine.

Daisy, those fairy houses sound lovely, my GGD’s would love them.

GD2 is coming home from London today just to see the new star of the family, baby T

I have just cleaned the dried leaves out of the covered area just off the SR where I sit quite often. Now that is all today, feeling tired now. Will go into the sunroom with an audible book. I am still having trouble with my new aids so I am going to get my ears syringed next week and go back to the hearing aid shop. Managed to get them adjusted yesterday no problem, no luck today.

Nan2, we (well OH) got our lawn cut for the first time this year. As she was putting the lawn mower away down came the rain. Let us know if you win anything!

Plant I'm glad that you at least have nice weather!

Mimi I hope good weather comes so you can use the garden furniture.

Daisy the bathroom flooring is a patterned vinyl which looks like tiles. I will post a photo when we get the bath side put back on!

OH fixed the broken shower switch by buying and fitting a new cord and fitment, so I have been able to have a shower now
She got the lawn cut as I mentioned so that is all the good news. The bad news is she got speeding fine through the post today It was last Sunday evening when we were coming back from GS2's pizza party.

GS is having his school friends party now, at a local play barn . We are happy not to be invited

We're having a lovely day today. It's warm enough to be in the garden in a sleeveless t-shirt. I got the lawn cut, and hopefully OH will roll it later to get rid of some lumps and bumps.

I got some of the ironing done as well, and put a casserole in the oven for dinner tonight.

Gem, your new flooring sounds very nice. How lovely to have your shower fixed - your OH is very handy. Oh dear - it's so easy to miss a speed limit change. One of my college friends at lunch on Thursday is a member of a Speed Awareness group in her village, and she says they are highly visible and most drivers slow down. It doesn't help when signs are obscured by trees etc, or you're concentrating on avoiding pot holes and don't notice.

Plant, how lovely - enjoy your sunroom. I hope you had a relaxing read.

Nanto, did you back the winner?

Hallo everyone, it has been a lovely day again, done the shopping etc and some people came for the cupboard, from, Enschede!! That is near the German border and with traffic a 3 hour drive!

GD2 has started her job today, officially! Her friends mother has a very popular coffee/lunch/ice salon in the village and she is helping there. They will get planned in after school etc.

I have been to their house this afternoon as I ordered GD1 a summer trench coat, one for tall ladies! She was in when I got there and she loves it.

Gem, you will be pleased with the new flooring, I don't think I would enjoy a children's party in a play barn, all the screaming going on.

Daisy, you will be pleased the sun has been shining for you to get the garden etc done.

Plant, take it easy if you are tired.

Mimi, I got my table etc out on the balcony last week.

Oma, I hope that your hand is improving now.

I backed last years winner, but it went down at the first fence.
Hubby's horse finished the race, but not in a winning position.
Not to worry, there is always next year.

Good evening ladies! Back from a lovely stay in SLovakia. Beautiful weather, 28 most days. Visited some different places and spent a day with friends of DS. They have 2 children. The little girl of 5and ahalf, spoke to me in very good English, but I don't think the 4 year old boy knew what to make of me! This strange woman who couldn't speak his language! But they loved their presents, which was a relief, and we had a really good day. The new GF is very nice and they both seem very happy and relaxed in each other's company. Who knows where this might lead?

Been a beautiful day here. I walked over to watch GS play the last match of the season this afternoon for the local football team. Took about 35 minutes each way, so I definitely got my steps in for today! Not sure what tomorrow will bring. I know I have washing and ironing to do, but.......I'm sure I can find something to distract me!

Plant, did you know that Peterley Farm shop have Cook meals in their freezers? I've bought a couple of their individual meals before. ALways handy to have in the freezer and good quality. Hope your GGD isn't too ill with the chickenpox.

Night night ladies! Hope you all have a good night's sleep! x

Welcome home, WeeGranny. The lovely weather must have felt like the icing on the cake, being able to spend time with your DS and his GF (fingers crossed there!). His friend's children sound delightful. You certainly did get our steps in walking to and from the match. Does. your GS play cricket in the summer - or am I imagining that?

                            Nanto, better luck next year.

Lizzie, a summer trench coat sounds a good idea - especially if this wet weather carries on! I hope your GD2 enjoys her little job. It's such good experience for youngsters isn't it.

                              Welcome home WG.

Hoping to get the grass cut today.
Hubby got the hedge cut , but then the rain came.

Didn't do the ready meals yesterday, we had jacket potatoes.
                              Having the ready meals today.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. We've got a very watery sun and lots of cloud. I hope it stays dry.

Nanto, I see you've got my gardening wellies and garden tools out ready for me to get started on the weeds! Ready meals give you a day off from cooking - enjoy.

Yesterday OH and a friend sawed up loads of large logs - some for turning and the fairy houses his friend makes. The rest are our logs for next winter! Talk about being prepared for the worst. If it stays dry he will split and stack them today. I've got plenty to do in the garden, and didn't finish the ironing yesterday.

Have a happy relaxing Sunday, everyone.
