Been mild here today,a bit of a breeze blowing.

Well this morning got a few jobs done. As soon as one done it was onto the next.
I was glad when sis in law and hubby came, cos we had a break then.

Gem, hope OH has a good game.

OH loved her game thank you Nan2. They didn't win but were very glad to be out there as the course had been closed for 16 days.

That sounds a lovely afternoon Plant.

        Oma, it's mild here today.

I had a lovely lunch with my friends, we chatted for almost 4 hours! We will meet up again in a few weeks time.

It has been fairly mild here but the wind got up this afternoon and it went much colder. Still, it's nice to have a day without rain.

We had a lovely day with the GDs, although not quite what we expected. They were just finishing their second breakfasts and hot chocolates when some friends called round. It was nice to see them, and they hadn't seen the girls for years. GD1 is happy to sit and chat to anybody - and she was very happy have a chat about knitting and crocheting with my friend. GD2 is much shyer and slipped out of the room after a while. We had our traditional sausages, eggs, chips and peas for lunch, followed by Magnums. We didn't do much in the afternoon except chat - about all sorts of things from books, Christmas Day and music. I took them home late afternoon. I'm surprised how tired I am even though we didn't do much. I need an early night.

Gem, great that S could get out and play some golf. I hope the competition tomorrow goes well for her. It sounds as though you had a brilliant chatty lunch with C and your other friend. I hope the after effects of the chemo ease with time. As Oma says, the huge benefit is they are still with us.

Oma, I thought it was just me who went out without gloves, hat and scarf and regretted it! I hope you warmed up ok when you got home.

Plant, your Christmas lunch sounds delightful, and I bet the youngsters in the choir were very excited to be performing for you all.

Nanto, sometimes visitor are a real Godsend giving you a chance to escape the chores.

Going into town early this morning. Meeting DS2,then going to see his wife at work.
Exchanging Christmas presents, because we won't get to see the chance to see them again before Christmas.

Then i just need a few bits from the butchers. Need more cheese as well.

Daisy, sounds like a lovely day was had with the GD's.

I'll probably just bung a pizza in for dinner.

Good Tuesday morning everyone. Back to rain here.

Seeing your DS2 and his wife today is like an early Christmas, but a pity you won't see them at Christmas. I hope you get what you want at the shops.

We need to finish decorating the dining room today - every time we start to do it there seems to be some interruption or other. I'll get some washing done as well. OH has all three of his car buddies coming here tomorrow, so I'll do some goodies - mince pies etc - for their lunch as well.

Good morning Daisy, Nan2 and everyone else.

Daisy, I find that with the GC getting older often unstructured days like you had yesterday work well. GS2 only 7 still likes activities (but is also happy drawing for hours) The 14 and 11 year olds less so!

I bet it will be busy in town Nan2, good idea to go early.

Library this morning, I will do a couple of hours. GS1 from school and to his club after tea. Tesco delivery early afternoon. This is my busiest day before Christmas, it gets easier from now on ( I THINK!)

Gem, I think you're right about the older GCs just enjoying 'hanging out'. I think their lives during term time are so busy and quite structured with their various activities that they need time to do nothing, or even just to sleep in in the mornings. The friend who visited yesterday has her DD and GD staying with them at the moment and she commented that her GD was still in bed when they went out yesterday. I thought that was pretty normal for a 16 year old!

I know you are resting your knee and being careful, but take extra care with your busy day today. xx

I plan to set up my tree today and the cards. I might have some help from GD. I have one last social event tomorrow before Christmas that is my Board Games afternoon and we are having food supplied by Waitrose.

Gemini, busy day for you, take care not to over do it.

Nanto, thank you for the sunshine. Enjoy your time with you son2 and dil.

Daisy, not the day you planned with your GD’s but I expect they enjoyed being with you.

Sounds like a really good day with GDs
Sometimes they like to just chill and tell you all the things they haven’t managed to tell you while they are at school ,
Your right about teenagers and bed , it would be strange to find one up and about early 😁

                      Gem

Just as well my plans for today was getting my housework and cupboards sorted so we not going out .

I was up early so I set too and I’ve gave downstairs a clean within an inch of its life 😁

I hoped to do it all maybe Friday , but all plans have been changed ,
We have to go to MILs tomorrow instead of Thursday as she’s having her hair done Thursday ,
So now shopping I intended doing tomorrow has changed to Thursday,

Saturday we have to go to the farm shop to collect Christmas Day meat and I will pop into my sisters as it’s just down the road ,

I said to B it’s just as well his cousin didn’t come I don’t know how we would have fit her in .

Im now sitting having a cup of tea before I tackle sorting the food cupboard out and making a list

That’s if I have the energy to get up again 🤣

Just sat down and old friends came in, they used to be our neighbours and our boys went to school together.
They joined us and we had a lovely long catch up .
So nice to see them 😁

How nice to bump into old friends like that Oma.

I bet H is happy to see her cousins Plant. Mine are always pleased to see each.

My library morning was fine. I just do 2 hours at the moment, and spent some time seated in the children's library sharpening coloured pencils and chatting to a little boy and his grandma.

I have put all the chilled and frozen food away, the rest can wait. Off to collect GS1 in a minute.
Oma, I have no idea what he does at this club but he enjoys it! He generally starts things enthusiastically and his interest wanes after a few weeks. This hasn't happened this time

Hallo everyone, I have had a very busy day! The lady from the place I do coffee got in touch yesterday, could I help with the Christmas lunch today? I felt like saying no as I can't get on with the lady that thinks she runs the roost! I am not the only one, she does so much for the place, cooking etc so they seem to accept it. I told the one in charge that I can't get on with her, she said she is "milder" now??? I took my own tasks of coffee, serving etc etc, one of the other ladies I get on really well with so we did a lot together. The other one had to have a few digs though but I coped, in fact it was nice as there was an entertainment choir, some of the Shanty singers and a few women singing carols, they were good. I have been asked to go on Friday afternoon to help with the Christmas tea.

It has poured down all day long, I came home and had to go for treatment so got wet through a few times, my jacket is waterproof, luckily!

Gem, you are busy with the GD.

                            Oma, your house must shine!

Daisy, you would enjoy having your GD's, are they already on holiday from school?

Plant, have you finished all the Christmas shopping etc now?

Nanto, I hope you all had a good day and that the weather was better than it was here! Certainly no sun!

Presents handed over to DS2 and DIL.

Cleaned the windows after we got home.
Not long after doing them, the sun came out, don't like doing them with the sun on.

Oma, how nice to see old friends and have a good catch up.

Gem, glad you had a good morning at the library.

                                Raining this morning.

Shopping coming between 9 and 10. Its a big order.
Some of the things we buy, were on offer, so quite a few things are doubled up.
When that lot has been put away, i have plenty of other things to do.

                                I'll check back in later.
