      Good sunny Sunday morning everyone.

Nanto, thank you for the lovely 'welcome home' graphic. xx

Oma, well done to you for checking for allergic reaction so thoroughly. I hope that doctor remembers to look at the "one in a million" reactions to medicines in future, but I'm so sorry you've gone through all those problems.

Nanto, we didn't have much salad while we were away and I missed it. So in a pub one day I ordered chicken Caesar salad, expecting the usual piles of nice crunchy lettuce. What I got was every chicken lover's dream salad, hardly a leaf of greenery in sight. I hope your chicken goujons outweigh the salad today.

Gem, I'm pleased to hear you're having a good week-end away, and I hope your knee behaves itself. I'm sure you could do with the break, and Morcambe (if that's where you are) is very 'bracing'. I hope the weather stays good. Enjoy your day in Lancaster. xx

It's already warm here, with a gentle breeze. Perfect. We've been invited to a friend's for lunch today. Well, OH put today on the calendar, but insists the invitation is for tomorrow! We shall see. Meanwhile, I'm keeping the washing machine very busy - where on earth does it all come from!

We are about 5 miles from Lancaster, a little place called Thurnham. We went to Lancaster yesterday and visiting Morecambe today.

Gemini, sounds like a lovely break you and S are having. I have dug up your bulbs, I have to devise a way to wrap them safely, I will post them tomorrow or Tuesday.

Daisy, the salad was ok,hubby enjoyed it more than i did.

Cool again this morning. Hope it warms up a bit.

I know its a Bank Holiday, but its just like any other day to us.

Kitchen has been cleaned,a few other little jobs to do.

Dinner is beef stew form the freezer, might do dumplings with it,or might do pancakes.

              Have a good day ladies.

                  Good morning everyone.

Yes Oma, home today. We can stay another night but as OH has early golf tomorrow that wouldn't work. No hurry to leave though, it's up to us. The friends staying for the second half of the week won't be here until late tomorrow.

Not sure what we will do today yet. After a dull morning yesterday turned out very hot and sunny again by afternoon. It's lovely this morning.

Bank holiday are much the same as any other day when we are retired aren't they Nan2?

Thank you for the bulbs Plant, no rush to post them.

Daisy I hope you have/had a lovely lunch!

Oma, you sound like your old self. Why wouldn’t your GS want to see his lovely GP a second day running.

Gemini, that sounds like a lovely break for you both

Lovely and sunny again but we have had a lot of wind in the last few days. I am attending a lunch for the OLD FOLK in the village hall today. No H today, DD and Sil took her out to lunch yesterday, she didn’t want to go home. H has been here two and a half days, one overnight, I bet my GD has missed her.

Good morning, Oma, when GD1 stayed here I had to have banana milk in for her!

Have a good ride home Gem.

                      Daisy, enjoy the lunch.

Plant, enjoy the lunch for the OLD FOLK!!!

I have been to the material market in Rotterdam, I got all I went for, I could have got more as one stall had all material for €1 per meter!!! They had taken a bankrupt stock over, there was furnishing, curtaining etc. I did have a good think then just got what I wanted. I bet they have a busy day as the stall was very busy as I left for home. I got some denim as I like skirts in the summer, I have it in the washer now, the man told me to wash it first, I do anyway, I told him I do as at my age I don't want to be wearing a mini skirt, he said " well, I for one would like to see you in one"! I soon paid him and moved on!!!!

I had a meal at DS1 last night, I enjoyed it, GD2 was delighted with the stuffed dolls I had made for her, she was baby sitting after I left, it is a regular thing, a boy of 2 years old and the girl is 5 now, she goes and gets them to bed etc and enjoys going, she also looks after the cats whilst they are on holiday etc, well, all she does is open the door to let them out then the same to let them in the next morning! She puts food and water down for them then that is her work done.

GD1 went out with friends, they seem to be both growing up all at once!

Good Bank Holiday Monday morning, everyone.

Reading through the last page or so of posts, don't we all spoil our Grand children! And Great-grand children as well. Everything from stuffed dolls, special drinks, crispy duck on demand, play times, sleepovers, picking up from school and lots more. I think it's one of the best things about having grand children and great-grandchildren - we can spoil them with a clear conscious.

Lizzie, you did well to avoid temptation at that fabric stall given how much sewing you do. It's lovely to have a meal with the family, and I bet GD2 will treasure those dolls. I'm the same with my two oldest GCs - they seem to have grown up overnight.

Plant, enjoy lunch with the OLD FOLK. I'm sure you are one of the eternally youthful ladies there. H has such a great time with you and with her grand parents, no wonder she doesn't want to go home.

Gem, you've had much better weather than when you went to Stratford a few weeks ago, haven't you. I hope you have a safe and leisurely journey home with no traffic jams. If S is playing in a tournament tomorrow wish her luck from me.

Oma, yes, thank you, I slept like a log but woke up quite early (early for me, that is!) Did you get everything you went out for this morning. Sourdough bread is lovely, and I keep thinking it would be a nice idea to try making it at home - it's quite expensive in the shops, isn't it.

Nanto, I agree, Bank Holidays can seem like just another day when you're retired. We usually stay home for them because it's mad busy with tourists, especially in this lovely weather. On the other hand, it's nice to seem people out and about enjoying our village and local beauty spots.

It's another glorious day here. It's a big windy though at the moment.

Our lunch with friends was yesterday, and we almost arrived on time. We were just locking up when the smoke alarm went off! Poor Eva was besides herself. It's one of those you can't just switch off of take the battery out. OH hurriedly found the instructions and we decided it was probably dust that had set it off - or pollen which we're drowning in at the moment! We hoovered it out, and fingers crossed it seems to be ok. It's only a couple of years old and has a 10-year guarantee, so hopefully it was just dust. We had lunch in the shade in their lovely garden and came back home about 5 o'clock.

I got up early this morning - 6.30!! - and took Eva out into the Forest for a long walk while it was still cool and there weren't loads of people about. In fact I didn't see a single person, and we had a lovely walk with the birds singing and Eva having a great sniff round. There were lots of foals around - all wobbly legs and cute faces. The stallions are out, so the mares are all frisky as well. I'm still catching up with washing from before we went away, and the lawn is paying tribute to No-Mow-May!! I'll try and do it this afternoon.

we did get what we wanted ,
Some nice bedding plants and strawberry milk
We bought Sourdough bread and nipped into the Butcher's on sight and bought some Penshaw piglet sausages
The farm is called Penshaw farm shop . It sits at the base of our local landmark Penshaw monument Hence the name 🤣

                          Plant
Enjoy your Old folk lunch 😁
H knows where she is spoilt that's for sure , she's a little cutie
I'm feeling so much better after only a few days off the tablets so it's looking more likely its those isn't it .

                          Lizzie
I bet it was so tempting to buy more fabric than you needed . Well done restraining yourself .

Both B & myself were up at 3am having a hot drink neither of us could sleep it was so warm we stood in the garden talking quietly what we were going to do today out there .
B has started to paint the sleepers around the boarders then he will do the shed
we hope to get the wood for the fencing this week . Just haven't been able to get it with me being unwell and up and down to Hospital . So must make the effort this week .

Oma, it's great to hear you feel so much better. I hope you've got rid of those horrible tablets for good! Was it chilly in the garden at 3 am? At least it would have been nice and quiet. Those sausages sound delicious. Have you had them before?

Yes Daisy we have had the sausages before , they won a gold award for them last year along with a host of other sausages 😁

It was quite warm in the garden mind you we both had dressing gowns on ,
We could hear the rustling of wildlife but couldn’t see anything , we do know there is a fox around and about sometimes you get a glint of a eye then it’s gone but we couldn’t make out if it was that or not.
Could have been a cat even
our security light comes on when anything moves in the garden so you have to stay very still for it to go off so it scares anything that’s there .
