Lizzie, you are so fit with all the exercise you do!

Oma, I don't blame you telling MIL off. I do feel for you with your mouth pain. As you know I am not stranger to tooth pain in recent years! Poor B I hope he feels better soon.

    Lazy starts are good Daisy

We have been to The Range for paint and a few other things, then we had lunch at our favourite cafe in the village.

Hooray - I have a Drs appointment Tomorrow morning for a knee injection! I have just taken the phone call. I have been waiting for an appointment for some time. I have been in so much pain lately even doing aquafit, and my knee locked when I was climbing steps at the panto in December and I fell Fingers crossed it works well. The one I had last May did, the August one not quite so well.

Good late afternoon ladies,I have been just sitting here most of the day trying to find the energy to get going but not a chance I feel so down at present. I'm missing my man and just can't get myself going even though my lovely family are so caring.

DS1 is heree with DGD she has come for tea after school she has brightened up my day chattering and telling me what she has done at school & had for her lunch they have gone down the garden to feed the birds and to try and coax Oliver to come in for a while but not much chance whilst DGD is here as soon as he hears her voice he disappears.

I've been reading about "stick-hoover gate" they are just the best aren't they I also have a pull a long hoover which I use every now and again but prefer the stick one I have its so easy.

Will say bye for now take care everyone xx

Gem, I had to start the exercise about 13 years ago, I had been to a clinic about a new knee but they are very doubtful about operating with lipedema, my physio came up with a plan to exercise and build my muscles up so I don't have to put so much pressure on the knee. They have a special medical centre and I went twice a week for almost 8 years and it worked, when that stopped I decided to go to the sport school, first I went twice a week, one day I asked the owner what a good tread mill cost for home use, he said I would be much cheaper getting a 60+ card and go there when I want. That is why I go so often. I do feel my knee, not as much as I did, last year when my foot was bad I was walking wrong and my knee was giving me ####! I have a special knee cushion in bed, that helps as well. I have always been active really with swimming, walking and cycling but the gym part of is from when I was at the medical training centre.

If I had an appointment when GD2 was here I could take her and she could go to the nursery, she loved it, she often mentions it, when she was here the other week we went to the Lidl and met the lady that worked there, she often asks how M is so now she saw her. She said she wouldn't have recognised her!!

Lizzie, that looks like an instrument of pure torture. The Spanish Inquisition would have loved it, I bet! But I'm sure you all support and encourage each other on, and if it's helping you to keep active and mobile it's well worth it. What a good idea it was to get a 60+ card for the gym - exercise and seeing people as well. It sounds a friendly place.

Plant, I can't believe "baby" H is two!! How that time has flown. I'm glad she had a lovely day.

Oma, I'm sure this must be one of those days when you could really give MIL a piece of your mind - neither you nor B need her complaints at the moment. Has B been to the doctors (or spoken to one).?That cough must be getting him down, poor love. You're very brave and stoic, but your mouth must be feeling very uncomfortable and then is you can't eat properly you can end up feeling really grotty. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Sending hugs. xx

Gem, fantastic you have finally got an appointment for your knee treatment. I hope it works as well as the first one. xx Sorry if I've missed it, but buying paint - where are you decorating? What colour did you get?

Glamm, sending hugs. This time of year must be very hard for you. Probably all the family activity got you through Christmas, but January is bleak at the best of times. Your little GDG sounds such a lovely, lively little girl who brightens everybody's day. How it your DS1 doing?

I've had my lazy day! Apart from taking Eva out, that is! I managed to dodge the rain but the wind didn't let up all day so I didn't walk as far as I'd hoped. I took a short cut back which goes past a friend's house. As we passed she was just answering the door to someone. Eva saw my friend and dug her paws in. She wasn't going anywhere until she'd said 'hello'. We chatted on the doorstep (we politely declined to cover her house in mud by going inside!) and then Eva kept stopping all the way back because she wanted to go back to the friend's! I'm just getting dinner and Alexa is scolding me so I'd better give the casserole a once over!

              Its windy here as well.

Daisy, i think it was you that mentioned cheese with fruit cake.
I was brought up from little having it.
Started giving it to hubby years ago,and i think most of the family members have it now.

Plant, it doesn't seem 2 years that H was born. Tempus fugit. (Time flies.)

Nanto, I think it was Gem who originally mentioned cheese with fruit cake, but I fully agree, it's delicious, especially a really nice rich home-made fruit cake (aka Christmas cake) and Wensleydale cheese.

Glamma, it is a time of year for feeling down. Christmas behind us and the days dismal. I hope you are feeling brighter soon xxx.

Nan2 Tommie is a little sweetheart!

Daisy, we are going to decorate 2 bedrooms. Ours we have never done ( only lived here 12 years!) We bought a dusky pink type colour. The bigger spare room we painted a shade of blue we didn't like a few years ago but couldn't be bothered to change. Now it is due for freshening up we have bought a shade which we prefer.

All our Wensleydale is now gone ( I gave the last to my mum) There is a small wedge of Christmas cake, so that's that for another year. Neither of us can resist it so we just eat it until it's gone!

                  Night all 🛌

                    Good morning everyone.
                    It sounds very windy outside!

My knee appointment is at 8.40. Apart from that is is just single school run this afternoon (meeting GD at GS's school again) It works best when you rest the joint as much as possible for 24 hours or so after the injection, so apart for the walk from car to school and back I intend to!

                    Have a good day everyone.

                        Hello Nan2

Injection went fine, in and out of the consulting room within 5 mins, which is what makes the long wait for an appointment so frustrating. The GP has referred me to the muscular skeletal department.

I think I am going to ask GD to walk to school to collect her brother. It's less than 5 minutes walk from the car but it's better to rest the knee as much as possible today. I will ask DD if the school need to know that it will be GD bringing him to the car. They know GD as she went to that school.

Gemini, I hope you are able to rest your knee today.

Glamm, sorry to hear you are not feeling great, pleased to read GD has been cheering you up. The anniversary of losing your partner so suddenly and unexpectedly must be hard for you. A virtual hug from me.

My mouth is feeling less sore today , I did have to take pain killers during the night I woke laying on that side and it was throbbing but I did manage some nice toast this morning without too much trouble so on the mend I think .

We went to Asda this morning , Looked around for the Pie Nanto buys but couldn’t see it , asked one of the staff showed her a picture but they were out of stock said expecting deliveries today so try tomorrow ,
To be honest there wasn’t much in the chiller cabinets , no pork pies not many pies of any sort really so must be low on stock .
From there we went to Lidl wandered around came out with a bag of red onions that was it ,bit of a waste of time .

I went to bed early last night I felt drained , in bed by 9 slept till 10.30 then was wide awake again so got up and went back at 2.30am .slept on and off till about 4 when I had to take pain killers then got up at 6

Not a lot to do today , sneezing my head off so a quiet day .
Im a bit disappointed as we were going to see Finley but won’t go with this cold I don’t want to pass it on .

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Hallo everyone, it is still very windy and feels much colder, I have been to do the coffee for the art group and I can do it every week now, the lady that did it has had a new knee, it is still bothering her and she said she has enough going on so was pleased I am willing to do it.

Gem, I hope your knee goes well. How old are children allowed to leave schools on their own in the UK?

Glamm, difficult days for you, thinking of you.xx

Oma, is B any better? I hope you are soon feeling better as well. You must be tired with getting so little sleep. One of the supermarkets in the village is often very low, or out of, stock.

About the fruit cake with cheese, we had both in the house but never together, that must have been my fathers Scottish taste buds! He would put butter on his fruit cake but not cheese. Then I don't like different tastes together, I never have done, I love stewed apples but would never eat apple sauce with pork. The same goes for anything with a sweet taste.

I have a Lidl box to pick up but to save me cycling twice in the wind I will pick it up after my treatment.

I got my windows done inside yesterday, I have 2, very heavy, club chairs, they belonged to DS1 and DIL, when they got a new suite years ago they decided I would like them! They are very comfy, as I only sit in one I swop them round, well I did swop them round, I did it yesterday and come to the conclusion they are too heavy for me to move! The next change I will get the boys to do.
