Lizzie I like butter on fruit cake too , even on Christmas cake , I like fruit with savoury but my DD hates it !
She won’t eat apple sauce with pork , mind you she isn’t keen on stewed fruit but she likes cranberry sauce with Turkey as long as it’s home made and slightly tart tasting .

You need the boys to move heavy furniture now , That’s my one bug bear I used to be so strong and now although I think I can move things I find I’m as weak as a child so frustrating.

It is frustrating Oma, makes me feel old when I can't move things like I used to be able to.

My father would put butter on everything he ate!! I am not keen on any sauces like cranberry. Strange woman.

I got my Lidl box, a very good one with plenty of fruit and veg to last me a few days!

I heard from DS1 that GD1 has sprained her ankle, she just sent me a photo, it looks painful!

My OH hates apple sauce with pork, mint with lamb, cranberry with turkey etc. I like them all. She will eat cheese with fruit cake though.

        Oh poor GD Lizzie.

Are you getting B's cold now Oma?

I think we all have to accept there are some things we can't move or lift as we could.

All went well with the school pick up. I was shocked by how many cars did drive into there. We are not supposed to even park on the street the school is on, let alone the car park!

          Gem,
Yes getting this cold too, our window cleaner came today , he’s just over Covid for the 3rd time and now he’s coming down with this cold too ,he said he feels worse with this than COVID .

Lizzie sprains can be more painful than a break ,
I remember as a child I had a weak ankle and had lots of sprains , ended up with a brace on my ankle many a time to support it.
Poor girl I feel for her .

Oma, her foot and ankle are really swollen, she fell down the stairs at school!!! I have told her I have crutches if she needs them so will hear from her.

When I had the flu in April I was much worse than when I had covid.

Gem, now you know where you can park in the future!!!! I bet you won't though, I know I wouldn't dare park where I am not allowed to.

Well, I am just a weeny little bit too late to say 'good morning', aren't I!

                It's been a day and a half!

Sainsbury's was due between 8.30 and 9.30 and it's bins day, and yesterday one our our lovely nieces said she had a day off work, could she come over this morning. So of course we said we'ed be delighted to see her and would love for her to stay for lunch. So I ordered salmon and new potatoes and some nice veggies to be delivered this morning, and even a apple tart as I knew I wouldn't have time to make one. All sorted?

No. Sainsburys arrived just as I was getting out of the shower. I quickly got dressed, ran downstairs and found OH on the way back to the garage clutching a large screwdriver! The rear door of the delivery van had jammed and wouldn't open. The driver phoned in for help - about 90 minutes was the reply. So there was our lunch, in a van behind a locked door! Two hours later a man with the right sort of whatever was needed arrived and our order was released! Luckily I persuaded OH to go to the village and get salmon and potatoes (he forgot the potatoes!) So when our niece arrived the coffee was on, and I was making the best I could out of what veggies were in the fridge.

Anyway, eventually it was all sorted and we relaxed and had a lovely day. We hadn't seen each other since last summer, so there was a lot to catch up on. But you don't realise how the years roll by! She was my little bridesmaid, and she will be 59 this year and is talking about retirement!

DS1 had an appointment at the eye hospital today as a follow up appointment from his cataract surgery in November. The consultant zapped both eyes with the laser and his vision was immediately much better, so he was very pleased. I think the traffic in London was pretty bad though. Both he and DIL were quite tired by the time they got home.

So I'm now trying to catch up online.

A day and a half Daisy but at least lunch was saved even if it wasn’t exactly what you planned.
Good news about DSs eyes , can he see without Glasses ?

Oh what a carry on Daisy!! I'm sure your niece was happy to spend time with you both potatoes or no potatoes

I had that after-cataract laser treatment. It's brilliant and instant!

Gem, yes, it was an instant improvement for DS1 as well.

Oma, I don't know yet if he will need glasses or not. He'll have to go for an eye test at some point.

What a windy day yesterday! I attempted to hang out some washing yesterday morning, it must have looked a very funny sight. The wirrly washing thingy wouldn't stop spinning and at one point the 'neck' of my polo neck jumper was blown right over my face .I couldn't see a thing. That didn't stop me from laughing out loud mind you, I must have looked like some sort of idiot to anyone looking on seeing a woman battling with the wind trying to hang out the washing whilst laughing about

Daisy what a day you had! We once had a Tesco delivery van breakdown just as the driver was driving into the close where we used to live. Luckily for us he was able to unload our shopping but not so lucky for anyone else trying to leave or enter the close as it was completely blocked. It stayed like that for quite some time until it was eventually repaired and the driver was able to continue with his rounds.

I like fruit cake but I don't like any accompanied extra with it MIL used to eat hers with cheese.

We can't move anything heavy now . In fact there are a few things we find difficult to do. Climbing too high on a ladder as we both get dizzy so decorating is a out of the question. Turning the mattress over , it's far too heavy for us . In fact the list seems to get longer with the passing months, this getting old marlakely doesn't come without its draw backs

It's forecast yet another wet day here , hopefully the weather is better where you are.

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good Morning ladies hoping I find you all well,I am feeling brighter today not 100% but certainly a wee bit better than I have this past week or so.

Today is my best friends Birthday and I ordered some postbox flowers for her as she lives in Scotland and have just woken up to see they have changed the delivery day until tomorrow I am so angry about it as I gave loads of notice for the delivery date, they are being delivered by Amazon which was not mentioned on the order or I would have used another company steam coming out of my ears to say the least.

DS1 has been here most days he is on holiday for 10days he is doing all little jobs I need doing such as gutters and back garden which needs hoovering over as its full of leaves and quite a few pots need emptying once all that is done I shall feel much better and content I think.

Daisy I had laser treatment on both eyes after cataracts where done what a great difference it made everything was crystal clear it is a marvelous procedure.

Off to make a cuppa and do some cleaning enjoy the day xx

                                Good morning dear ladies.

                                Mimi and Nan2, beautiful graphics.

Glamma, good to hear you are feeling a bit brighter. How annoying about the flowers though. Something similar happened with flowers I had delivered to DD and SIL3 when the baby arrived. Then to add insult to injury they delivered to the wrong house ( a day late) These flowers are far from cheap as well aren't they?

The image of you and the washing made me smile Mimi

                                Wet here too Nan2.

A free day today. Christmas things are still in the spare room to be packed away This evening we are celebrating a friend's 50th by going out for meal in town. Drinks at theirs from 6 then a mini bus to take us all to the restaurant.
