Good morning, yes the shoe problem as we get older! I have support soles with carbon so as not to bend my foot, they really do help as without them I am crippled with arthritis, add to that the special shoes, they help as well. As you say Daisy, Sketchers don't give the support that you need if you have problems. I think that is the problem with all the of "memory foam" soles.

I have just read this on Google about those shoes you wear Daisy.

The Asics Gel Kayano has come up repeatedly as being the best foot-stabilizing shoe money can buy, and Miguel Cunha, DPM, founder of Gotham Foot Care in New York City, has touted its benefits for walking, running, and every activity in between.

      Morning ladies
Dont get me started on shoes ,
im still getting over taking all my pretty ones to the charity shop
I have fat feet so need wider fit and that’s great if you want sketchers or trainers but buying sandals in wide fit is a nightmare
They either ugly have a toe post or have a strap that digs in
I will stop there or I will moan for England 😁

      Nanto
I wish I had that bath to soak in , 🙄

      Mimi
we used to have a Rhubarb in our other garden that would take over it was so big , I wonder if it’s still there or they dug it out
Its shocking the price at the moment £2.69 for a couple of thin stalks .

      Gem
Have a lazy day just enjoy GDs company 😁
I presume GS is up and about no lie in for him 😁

      Daisy
Its dull and wet here too,
I did plan getting the borders cleared of dead leaves and raking the top of the soil but it’s too wet ,
We only have the two small boarders but it’s surprising how messy they get ,
The Miniture Daffodils and tulips are dying back so not a lot I can do to them at the moment either.

Not a lot to do today towels in the wash but for once no ironing or cleaning it’s all done ,
We having Toad in the hole for tea so just taken sausages out of the freezer .

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Going back to rhubarb, the trick is, if I've got it correctly, you plant the crown and don't pull any the first year. The second year you can pull some, never cut, always pull, then the next year don't pull any again and then the following years you can harvest regularly every year
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Lizzie, I've currently got Sonoma gel trail shoes and they are so comfortable and supportive. They've also got fantastic soles which are great on the stony, muddy or rutted paths I mainly walk on. I think the Kayano ones are recommended for knee problems because they keep your feet in the right position so you don't put a strain on your knees. It's worth taking care in choosing isn't it when you've got to think about the aches and pains! Do the ones you have work well for cycling?

It's been a nice day today with sunshine most of the time. we did some gardening this morning, then went round to our neighbours after lunch to have a drink to celebrate his birthday. We had dinner, and then settled down to watch the Coronation concert. A nice relaxing day!

Good morning, Daisy, these are the shoes I wear. Not indoors as they are quite heavy and my neighbours wouldn't be too pleased. https://www.xsensible.com/english/our-story/

I do wear others indoors with my soles in though.

We had a lovely sunrise a couple of hours ago, cloudy now.

Mimi, we never cut rhubarb, always pull it. In fact,it wouldn't surprise me if hubby pulled some today.

No bank holiday plans here. First job is ironing.

Dinner is chicken in breadcrumbs, mashed potatoes, veggies and gravy.

Good Bank Holiday Monday morning everyone. It's raining here!

Nanto will you be having a rhubarb pudding to go with your chicken dinner?

Lizzie, those trainer look really good and supportive. Doesn't it make a difference when you find the right ones! Gem, I got my first pair of Asics trainers fitted in an independent sports shop. It's since closed down, so I buy online, but I've found what fits and I can always return them if they're not quite right. Their sizing is good, but if you're slightly between sizes I'd go for the larger size.

Today we're going to a Coronation barbecue at a cricket club this afternoon. I believe there are marquees and looking at the weather, we'll need them. We're taking Eva with us - she seems to enjoy social things and gets lots of fuss! I was going to do some washing this morning, but I won't bother now it's so wet.

                Have a good day everyone.

                  Good morning everyone.

Daisy I hope you enjoy the Coronation barbecue

Raining here too, a big contrast to yesterday.
We took the GC out for lunch then to the park. It felt like a summer's afternoon!
We recorded the Coronation concert but haven't watched any of it yet.
We are going to see my auntie today. With the weather forecast plus her bad knee instead of going out for lunch we will have it in the bistro there. I think she is quite glad as it is a Coronation buffet lunch today!

Gem, thank you. I'm sure we'll enjoy it despite the weather. Have a lovely time with your auntie. Has she hurt her knee?

Not wet here yet Daisy, perhaps it is coming our way, enjoy your social, I forgot it as BH.

Morning Nanto, dinner sounds good as always.

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday, a wonderful tea in the village hall, far too much food. We have some amazing people in the village who organise these events. I made an effort and wore red, white and blue but was surprised not many did. What an amazing concert on TV in the evening. Does anyone know who that lady was sitting to the left of Charles? I am spending the day with GD1 and H, will hear how the holiday went.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Daisy, auntie got up one morning a couple of days before mum's funeral unable to put any weight on her left leg. She couldn't come to the funeral.
Her DS took her to the ED, then she saw consultant last week. More injections advised due to her age and risks of surgery. It is a lot better than it was she says .
Oma I asked my cousin to tell his mum about my mum. She was sad of course and phoned us a few days later to see how we were.
She knew how sad my mum's life had become though and knew she was ready to go. Auntie has lost her 7 siblings over the years so is used to loss.

Not having rhubarb for pudding today.

Gem, hope your Auntie's knee is better soon.
Hope you all enjoy your meal as well.

We had a lovely buffet lunch (photos on FB) We went back to aunties apartment afterwards and had a cuppa and our lunch time cupcakes which we couldn't manage at the time, we stayed until around 4. It's been a poor day weather-wise, I feel for anyone having outdoor celebrations today.
