Oma, how awful for you not knowing when the reluctant tooth extraction will be dealt with. I do hope you hear from the hospital soon.

Garage said they will return my car after lunch, still waiting. It has to go back tomorrow to have a new tyre fitted as they found a nail in one. They are run-flat, they have ordered one to be fitted tomorrow. I have the hairdresser coming at 1.30 so I definitely need to be here.

Oh dear Oma, they should just have booked you in for dental hospital extraction in the first place. Surely as they have removed part of it that will bump you up the waiting list? I hope it's not too painful once the reaction to the messing about with it is over xx

I hope your car is sorted out soon Plant.

Did GD go to school Daisy?

Lizzie, I think it was wise to avoid any potential covid risks before your surgery.

The visit to my mum went well in the end and I stayed almost 2 and half hours. Initially we had to get through a whole hour or more of upset. She asked me how dad was then was distressed to know he wasn't alive, then even more distressed about that fact that I was telling her it was 12 years ago! She kept asking what we had to do next and I kept saying nothing, it was all sorted at the time. In the end she calmed down accepted my word that dad had a nice funeral with everything mum wanted and that she was there!
Those times are so distressing and something like it happens every time. Sometimes the whole time is various versions of that sort of thing, with a lot of talk of where she will live next. Today the second half of the visit was nice with good chat, mum doing lots of the chatting which is best, as she loves to talk and its hard for her to hear what we say to her.

Oma, i do hope you aren't waiting too long to get the tooth seen to. Toothache is horrible.

Plant, hope your car is all sorted tomorrow.

Gem, pleased your visit with your mum ended well, although it was a bit difficult at first.

We have a had a nice day socialising. After the opticians we went to visit hubby's sister.
Had dinner when we got home.
Later in the afternoon DS1 came, then GD2 called after work.

I chose nice frames in Specsavers. My prescription had changed quite a bit.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma, that all sounds horrifying. Poor you. I hope the dental hospital treats you as an emergency, but not a fun day out to be thinking about. Sending hugs.

Plant, it was a good job the garage spotted the nail. Did you get your hair done? Has the bridegroom arrived safely?

Lizzie, after doing so well on the cross trainer you can greet it with a smile now.

Gem, it must be heartbreaking when your Mum keeps asking about your Dad like that. I'm glad you were able to steer the conversation into less distressing areas, and I'm sure she enjoyed being able to chat to you. It must be difficult for her not being able to hear very well.

Nanto, you are quite the social butterfly these days. It sounded like a lovely day. Sometimes a glasses prescription doesn't seem to have changed much. Did you realise yours had changed?

I seem to have had a busy day. I went to DS2's shop this morning to get some photos sorted out and framed. When it was OH's oldest sister's and BIL's Diamond anniversary at the end of July we had no idea what to get them, then found a photo of their Silver anniversary. I had lots of photos of their Golden and took some at the recent Diamond one. So I got them printed and framed them in a nice triple frame. DIL and I were smiling at the technology. The oldest was a print from a film camera, the Golden was on the DVD I'd made and the Diamond was on my phone! How times change. While I was waiting I took Eva over to see GD1, DS2 and Cooper. She does look rather poorly - very pale and coughing. Nearly half of her class are off with this bug! Hopefully she will be feeling better by Monday - fingers crossed. After her recent illness you can't help but worry.

This afternoon I've been doing washing and ironing and making lists for our holiday. I'm sure to forget something! OH is out tonight, and I must get on with the Sainsburys order for tomorrow.

            Night, night everyone.

                  Good morning all.

                  Nan2, great gardening graphics!

Poor GD Daisy, at least you know it's something going round. I hope she feels better soon.

Oma, I find ibuprofen is the only drug which helps tooth pain, and co codamol. I am very sensitive to that one though so would only take it at bed time. I took it a few times when suffering from the dreadful Dry Socket. I hope the pain doesn't get any worse, or in fact goes away xx

Just GC school run this afternoon. Back into the Friday routine after my holiday. This morning I WILL finish the final unpacking of my suitcase!!!

Good morning, Oma, you are allowed to feel sorry for yourself!xxx

Nanto, I hope they get the turf laid.

Daisy, your poor GD, so many bugs around at the moment.

Gem, good luck with the unpacking, I like mine done the minute I walk through the door!

I got my clothes sorted yesterday, my neighbour friend called in for coffee, I was showing her a long cardigan style jacket I made a few years ago, she said "oh, that is my colour". She tried it on and I must admit it suited her better than it did me, it was far too big as well for me, I have only worn it once as well. So, she went home a very happy lady leaving me more space in the wardrobe. I do fancy making a fake fur body warmer, I have one I made years ago and do like it, the one I like is that long pile, there is a material market in Leiden on Sunday, I did fancy going but there are heavy showers forecast.

When my neighbour called I was actually sat on the settee, she said " that is the first time I have caught you sitting"! She was right as well, I must try and relax more.

GS2, the bridegroom to be, arrived yesterday afternoon, he gives the best hugs. He and his wife to be are going to the venue to sort things there today. My hairdresser is coming at 1.30 and after that I will fetch my car from the garage. My sunroom has a leaky roof so my neighbour who does jobs for me is coming to take a look at 10.

Lizzie, you must be a very talented dressmaker. Your friend was pleased with her jacket.

Daisy, I hope your GD feels better soon, what a shame she caught a cold when she was feeling so much better. The technology your Dil and DS use in their shop sounds amazing.

Gemini, it must be hard for you and your mum of course to have to tell her that her husband is no longer with you. Those visits must be hard but at least she cheered up when the subject was changed.

Lizzie, my OH's case is long unpacked! I take out and do all the washing and remove essentials such as toiletries hair straighteners etc straight away. The rest waits until I have time. To be fair to myself I have had rather a busy week. That's my excuse anyway

I bet your neighbour was delighted with the cardigan. You are right - its good to keep busy, but relaxation is important as well!

                        Exciting times Plant

I was just thinking Gem, the organisation I do coffee for are giving an information afternoon, how to treat people with alzeimers etc, it sounds interesting, but, it is a full 3 hours so I won't bother to put my name down.

Good morning everyone. The sun's shining, but there's a definite chill in the air now.

I've had about 3 goes at posting on here, but each time OH asks where something is, or can her put such-and-such in the van and I find myself not getting my list of jobs done. Forgive me not commenting - I'll try and get back later.

Sainsbury's and the hairdresser have been, and gone. My sister-in-law has kindly warned me to take some warm jumpers as it's gone much colder up there. I've dug my wellies out, arranged for friends to come over for the day on Wednesday, coffee one morning with OH's eldest sister and her OH, sorted out Eva's food, bowls, leads, blankets, towels etc. Now for some ironing. OH is going to a funeral this afternoon so I can finish packing clothes while he's out. He can't understand why I need 6 pairs of trousers when he only needs 3, my walking boots, two pairs of trainers and slippers instead of his one spare pair of shoes and walking boots. Don't mention t-shirts.
