Oma, you and B cook such lovely meals I am not surprised you didn’t enjoy the M&S ready meals.

Gemini, I do hope your GD has a good day and enjoys her dancing show.

Nanto, Jacket potato and cheesy beans sounds like comfort food, enjoy.

I spent the day with DD and H, we went to a model village close by which she loves but she wasn’t happy, I suppose the heat got to her, so we went home and she had fun in her paddling pool. When I got back home around 7pm, I went to ask DD and Sil if they had a good holiday and found my GS2 sitting on the terrace with them. He and his wife had just got back from a 3week touring holiday in America. Lovely to see him, he is a good hugger.

Lizzie, you must be very fit being able to keep up with your GD.

Daisy he’s half way through the first coat , I think it will take a couple of days weather permitting,
I keep telling him to stop for a while he’s worn out but he’s determined to do It ,
SIL and GS were supposed to be doing the fence this weekend but he just couldn’t wait , like all men won’t listen .

We have long ladders I’ve made him advertise them to get rid incase he thinks of climbing them anytime to try get the satellite dish down when I’m not in ,
He keeps saying he will ask around for someone to take it down ,
If the ladders are gone he will have no choice .
Hope you get the shopping your expecting not a mystery bag 🤣

      Plant
isn’t it nice to see the GC unexpectedly,😁
Poor H the heat is too much for them , there was a little boy in Aldi on Thursday only about 18 month having a right tantrum ,
You could see he was tired and hot and the more he screamed the hotter he got .

His mother took him outside and when we came out he was fast asleep in his buggy poor little thing wore himself and his Mummy out .

Hi everyone,I will catch up again properly tonight.
it has dulled over here but no rain is forecast. We are leaving for the party now.

GD's show is at 4pm. I don't know at the moment if she will perform. Fingers crossed.
SIL's party tomorrow is postponed but we are having a smaller family get together tomorrow.
I will fill you all in on YEO later

Gem, hope GD is able to go ahead with the show.

Been cooler today, had about 6 spots of rain round 3ish.

I ended up doing chips, mushy peas and fried egg for dinner.

Oma, sorry the meals didn't please.

Nanto, about mid-day I found myself wondering what you'd decided to cook! You can't beat eggs, chips and mushy peas when you're in the mood!

Oma, poor little baby in Aldi. Don't you feel sorry for them. At least Mum had the sense to take him outside and he was able to drop off for a much-needed nap. I wonder if it was the noise of the fridges and air-con inside that upset him. I hope you can get rid of the ladders before B realises what you're doing. It doesn't bear thinking about, him being up on the roof trying to get the satellite dish down. Aren't men stubborn! He really should stop when he's tired, especially in this hot weather. This is why we're going up to DS1's again tomorrow, to get a job finished otherwise DS will be tempted to do it himself no matter how hot it is!

Gem, I do hope GD was ok to perform. xx

The Sainsbury's delivery was interesting! I think the picker had never previously ventured into the aisles where fruit is before! I ordered peaches and got nectarines, and also apricots but got plums, but the plums were clearly labelled "Apricots". So plums was what I got!!! They weren't golden coloured plums either, they were a very dark 'plum' colour.

I seem to have had the washing machine churning away all day again and now I've got a huge pile of ironing.

              Good evening ladies.

Oma, B is like S, and they think they are invincible!

Thanks for your good wishes for my GD everyone.
She didn't do her show. It was probably for the best as I think she needs a total break from everything. I feel sad for her as she was excited to show us her costumes last week. Her half term is this coming week. I will update on YEO tomorrow.

The 70th party today was lovely and as the temperature had dropped it was ideal for being outside with no one getting too hot.

Off to bed now, talk tomorrow 💤

The weather has finally broken. Thunderstorm just moving away.
Had quite a bit of rain, still raining.

Braising steak for dinner. Going to get it in the slow cooker with onions and mushrooms. Will have mash and green beans with it.
Going to finish my cuppa first.

Good morning, we are back home again, but, the traffic again! An accident on the road so we were stood still for almost one hour, then almost home and the road was closed, I really should plan better! I managed to squeeze into the traffic for another route and we managed it home! We had a really good few days, did a lot of cycling, Plant we all cycle here so the legs are strong!! We went into town yesterday, had a lovely lunch, I got GD1 a chain and a ring for passing her exams, plus tops etc!

Gem, how awful for your poor GD. I do so hope that she gets over the attacks, it must be such a worry for you all.

It is dull here at the moment, showers forecast in places so we will have to wait and see.

Daisy, the picker must have had a bad day!! I am lucky here with 4 or 5 supermarkets in the village.

I am going soon anyway as my fridge is empty!

                  I will catch up later.

                    Good Sunday morning everyone.

We're forecast rain this afternoon, so I hope it will be a good downpour to water the garden and then clear up again.

Lizzie, hat a dreadful journey for you, what with an accident and a road closure. Well done for finding a way round it. It sounds as though you and gD1 had a lovely time though. Is it a bit cooler for you now?

Nanto, I'm glad you're back on form with dinner planned and under way. I like braising steak, but not when I cook it. I'm sure your garden was ready for that rain storm.

Gem, It was a pity GD couldn't dance in the end. Sending her big hugs. The 70th party sounds a good success. I hope you slept well. xx

                      Good morning everyone.

We had rain too Nan2. It looks damp outside but not raining now. Thunderstorms are forecast this afternoon

Lizzie, good to hear that you are back, and that apart from traffic holdups you had a good time

I agree with you Daisy. We really need good downpour for the gardens - but not for it to continue for days and weeks!

We are going to DD2s this afternoon unless we hear otherwise. DD says someone needs to eat the massive amount of M&S sandwiches she had ordered for the party! GD feels 'safe' with family there, but we have all said if she feels differently today we wont go.

It is very dull here but not much rain forecast, I hope that you manage to go this afternoon Gem, poor girl, she should be living her life to the full at that age.

GD1 was saying when she went to sign for her results her teacher had said that the 10 days with her nan in april had been good for the results!!!

                          Morning ladies
                          Daisy
How can someone mistake Apricots and Plums? Suppose it could have been worse you could of received cabbage as a replacement 😁
A man came after tea for the ladders so now there is no chance of him climbing them 😁
The baby in Aldi was clearly fighting sleep , he got to the point where they are so upset they can’t stop bless him .

                          Lizzie
Pleased you got home eventually , nice to have the company of your GD too and a nice break for her after all her hard work and study .

                          Nanto
B wants to make Lamb kebabs for tea , Im not a lover of Lamb but I will suffer it as that’s what he fancies and after all it’s Father’s Day . I will eat more salad than Lamb.

                          Gem
Poor GD but better not do it than push herself in a stressful situation,
Sounds a perfect night for the Party not to hot just right ,
How is S doing with the Pagoda?

We had about 5 minutes drizzle last night not enough for the garden,
Its cooler today and overcast supposed to rain about 6pm

We are meeting D&J and our DD,SIL & GS for breakfast this morning at the local garden centre
Both of us were up at 3 having a hot drink , I went back up at 5 slept till 6.30 so very tired today.

I have persuaded B to give the fence painting a miss today he’s worn out we in no hurry even if it takes another week it will get done .

                            Updated about GD on YEO.

2 of the 3 main pagoda posts are up Oma, and all stained before putting up. It's getting there! I hope B takes your advice abut resting.
I hope you enjoy your breakfast with friends. I'll be round later for a lamb kebab

Lizzie, I'm sure you did have a good effect on GD1

Lizzie, Your holiday with GD sounds lovely for you both.

Nanto, I don’t eat much meat but the braising steak sounds good.

Gemini, could I borrow S for a day or two, I could do with her skills.

Oma, I think you a so right in getting rid of those ladders and telling B to have a rest from the fence painting. Enjoy your lunch.

Daisy, I am not sure what weather we are expecting, perhaps we shall get your rain. Have a good day whatever you plan to do.

GD 2 and her partner arrived yesterday, I fetched them from the station. They are here for a few days and then they are using DD car to have a short holiday. They are planning to move back home so that they can save some money. It will be nice to have them around for a bit. I expect GS2 will be back for Fathers Day, he and his wife have been to her parents who live nearby. My GC come and go like ships in the night. I imagine GS1 will bre popping in too. GD1 is working today, she might pop in later. I feel I am in slow motion this morning, had to drag myself out of bed.

Plant, I love how your family may drift away from home but come back so regularly to see you. It must be a very good way of keeping in touch with their lives, which I am sure are very busy. 🥰
