It ended up being a very busy day. All good, but not a minute to come back here and chat. I'll have to catch up tomorrow. Night, night. x

Good morning. Its very warm already. Had a beautiful sunrise.

Had a bit of a quiet day yesterday, probably be the same today.

DS1 is 54 today, won't see him though, he's working today.

Jacket potatoes with cheese and beans on the menu.

        Good morning everyone.

I hope your DS has a good birthday Nan2.

Some days are just too busy to get online Daisy!

We have a party weekend ahead! An old friend of OH on Saturday, SIL2 on Sunday. Both garden parties, both special birthdays.
Today we have no specific plans but I think we may be going to shop for a new parasol and stand, for the lawn. We have one which is over our patio table and a very old one with a water filled stand we put on the lawn. I want a new one and a stand I can easily move. I was looking for a stand with castors but got bogged down with pole diameters etc! In the end OH has ordered a base with wheels which she will attach to the stand, when we get it.

we have a water filled base I can’t move it , good idea of Ss to put it on a base with wheels ,
Busy weekend ahead for you 😁

Sometimes the day hasnt got enough time in it ,You wonder where it’s gone and what you have done 😁

Is your DScelebrating his Birthday in any way or is it just another day for him 🎂

B is washing the car while it’s still cool enough then I have Hairdressers at 10 ,

GS came yesterday and he’s decided he is coming for dinner today , he wants a full English .
He was bringing Lucie but she has a part time job interview this morning
          .
Forgot to say DD had a offer accepted on a flat for him in Leeds so fingers crossed it goes ahead without any hitches .
They are cash buyers and as it for GS no chain so should be straight forward .

Gemini, pleased to hear your DD has hopefully secured a flat for your GS, he is a lucky lad.

I don’t have a parasol but DD and Sil have two, one on a table and a new one on a solid stand on wheels. We have to sit under them now if we are eating because of the Kites.

Gemini, how nice, two birthday parties for you and S.

I am spending the day with GD and H again. I wish she had some other mothers to spend time with but H being a Covid baby and GD working, she relies on family for company. Where they live it is a huge estate with houses and flats. Theirs is nice because it is ground floor so they have a piece of garden and a duck pond nearby, the ducks come into their garden for food. Oma, I don’t know what your Mil would do if she lived there, the man who lives in the flat adjoining them smokes pot and they are sure he is dealing as he has a lot of visitors who don’t stay long.

              Good sunny Friday morning, everyone.

Nanto, I hope your dS1 has a celebration of some kind booked, even if he's working today.

Gem, what a lovely week-end ahead. Parasols and their stands seem to be tricky, don't they. We got a new one this year to go over the garden sofa etc. The base has 4 metal legs with weighted blocks between them. But we've found we have to put heavy post of flowers on the actual legs because it can tip over in a gust of wind. Fortunately we do't need to move it around. The wooden table has a hole in the middle for a parasol but that wore out so we've got a free-standing one for that as well. We gave up on water-filled ones, as well.

Oma, Good luck to Lucie with her interview. Great news that your DD has finally had an offer accepted on a flat for GS1. I hope it all goes ahead quickly for them, then GS can look forward to moving in when he starts Uni.

We had a lovely day yesterday. OH and DS1 went to Duxford. DS1 had a flight in a Tiger Moth booked (it was our Christmas present to him) and when they got there DS found there was a short slot free on the plane, so he got it for OH for Father's Day. So they both took to the skies! They had a great day out, and of course, perfect flying conditions. DIL had a work meeting online so I sat in the garden with my book, and the dogs. Then after lunch we both sat in the shade. DIL hadn't slept the previous night, so I persuaded her to go and have a nap. Then I fell asleep on their garden sofa! We had dinner there and got back home about 11 pm.

I need to get some washing in today - at least it should dry quickly!

Good morning, it is still very warm, up to now it has been the warmest June ever with not a drop of rain since May 14th.

GD is the opposite to her nan, I am an early morning person, she is more late nights, luckily we each have a bedroom so no bother, we rode almost 70kms yesterday, both enjoyed that. We are going soon on the way to Tilburg then tomorrow with the bus to Den Bosch, we did cycle through Den Bosch yesterday evening, going on the bus tomorrow though, only 15 minutes ride.

The apartment is very nice, well equipped with comfy beds.

Gem, it will be handy having a parasol on wheels, all my plants are on trolleys😉

Oma, I hope the purchase of the flat soon goes through.

Daisy the men would enjoy being airborne, I think DS1 and family had a flight from there when they were on holiday. He will be on a longer flight today!

Daisy, sounds like the menfolk had a good day yesterday.

I don't think DS has anything planned for his birthday.
His next day off isn't till Thursday.

Our parasol base is filled with sand.Imagine trying to move it.

I'm going to make you all envious now.
I neede a new bowl for the kitchen sink. The other one sprung a leak.
While hubby was out with his pal this morning they passed a DIY kind of shop, sold all kinds of stuff.
So he bought one,and he got the right colour.

Nan2 that reminds me of the hours I would spend searching for a washing up bowl the right colour for my mum. To make it worse she insisted the pedal bin match!

It sounds as though you are having a good time Lizzie, with lots of cycling!

Plant it would be nice for your GD to meet some other mums. I'm sure she is very glad of your company.

                      What a lovely day Daisy

We have been to The Range, an independent garden centre then back to The Range.
We have managed to get a parasol and stand, Mystic Mog cat with solar light ( late
birthday present ) some solar batteries, solar lights for under the patio parasol and some birthday cards!
We bought sandwiches from Thomas's and cherries from the greengrocer next door then came home.
It seems hotter than ever today.

Gem, you did well getting that much shopping done on such a hot day. The solar light sounds unusual. Aren't fresh cherries wonderful! One of my favourites.

Lizzie, it's a pity it's a bit too hot for you, but it still sounds as though you and GD are enjoying your break.

Nanto, your OH is a star giving you such a fantastic present. You must have been thrilled. Actually I've got quite a few washing up bowls and use them for all sorts of things from pre-washing stains on clothes/soaking them to defrosting dog food (in packages!) and moving items from one freezer to another.

I got some washing done today, and did quite a lot of cleaning and tidying in the kitchen and utility room. Then I hoovered the floor and OH steamed it. I have spent most of the evening trying to update my Sainsbury's order for tomorrow. There seems to be some sort of problem and I've now been holding on the phone for ¾ hour to try and get it updated. The cut off is 11pm. I'm getting a bit fed up with the recorded voice telling me how sorry she is that they are busier than usual, and that if I don't want to wait I can go on the website and do things like update an order!

                          Not much happening today.

Got a load of towels in the wash.

I haven't even decided whats on the menu yet.

                            Good morning everyone.

Oh Daisy how frustrating! I hope the Sainsbury's order was sorted out in the end.

Nan2 this weather is wonderful for getting all the washing dried quickly isn't it?

This morning GS2 is coming for a while when his mummy does some shopping for his daddy's party tomorrow.
This afternoon OH and I are going to a 70th birthday garden party. The forecast is still good today but sadly not very good for SIL's tomorrow.

This afternoon I would rather be watching my GD dance. She is dancing in show for the second dance school she attends, and this will be her first performance with that one, and she has a solo. We had accepted the invitation to the party (old friend of OH) before any of us knew the date of the show. GD has had a bad week with her anxiety (I will update on YEO later) so we hope all will go well for her today.

                            Happy Saturday everyone.

yesterday as B had been busy all day we decided to treat ourselves to a M&S meal deal ,
Got there and they didn’t have any on so he ended up with a ready made cottage pie and I got a chicken tikka pie for quickness
He didn’t enjoy the cottage pie and mine was tasteless so that didn’t turn out as we planned 😏

Been to Sainsburys for them opening , I hate shopping on a Saturday can’t stand the crowds ,
got what I needed and back home quickly ,

Washing out , B started to paint the fence , it’s not as hot as it has been so better to work in .

Good Saturday morning, everyone. We had a short shower of rain this morning, but the sun is now out and it's warming up again.

Gem, I do hope your GD enjoys her first show with her second dance school. I think she must have impressed the tutors to have a solo in her first performance with them. What a pity you can't watch it, but hopefully someone will be able to take a video of her solo.

Nanto, good morning to you and your cheery teddy. It's not like you not to have your menu sorted out. I hope you decide on something tasty.

Oma, what a disappointment, twice over, no ready meals and what you eventually chose wasn't very nice. I've pretty much given up on ready meals - I was never very keen - because they are a disappointment more often than not, and it worries me that there are so many ingredients in that seem more at home in a laboratory than a kitchen. Will B get the fence finished today, or is it too big a job?

I eventually got my Sainsbury's order done after holding on the phone for nearly an hour! It will be interesting to see what actually arrives this evening. I'm keeping the washing machine busy again today. Apart from that it's go with the flow!
