Good morning, lovely and sunny here again, GD1 is still asleep, I went to pick her up at 1-30am! She had enjoyed it, but, told me the prices were disgusting for a youth festival, €15 entrance then €4,50 for a glass of water!!! I heard the same from a friend the other week, his youngest had been and said the tiny packet of crisps, in a supermarket 10 for €2, there €3,50 for one tiny packet.

I hope the flat goes through this time Oma. You do right to get a throw to protect your new suite.

Plant, H would be bewildered, she would wonder what was happening to her!

I will get GD1 woken, the rest of the family will be home later today, I think they get the shuttle at 12am.

I have my washing hung out, Sunday or not! It is drying.

I was going to to do a load of darks, but didn't have much.
There was plenty enough for a lights wash.
Sun keeps showing its face, i bet washing is dry now.

Good Morning ladies,Its dull here but dry during the week the sun has been out and its been quite pleasant .

I've had a busy week helping people distribute leaflets for a missing dog which has been dognapped not too far away she is a 5 yr old pomeranian who was picked up from outside her house after she escaped under a hedge she has been missing for a week and is so distinctive someone must know where she is such an awful time for the owners.

My neighbour Jim has been taken into hospital he is very unwell poor man in so much pain from stomach pain and bleeding it doesn't sound good at all according to his niece.

Yesterday after leaflet drops I did some gardening and pulled up lots of weeds from the underrneath of the front window where do they come from so quickly ? B&Q have a discount on their bedding plants so am off to buy a few trays to brighten up the tubs on the front path.If the back pain stays away I may go out there again today and do some planting.

Oma how the time goes over when we have lost someone so dear to us on Tuesday it is my darling John's birthday he would have been 78 God Bless Him,we have his picture pride of place with his glass of Brandy placed next to it and a remembrance card,it will be my GGS's 4th birthday the same day.

Must dash off now to B&Q I'm not sure what time they close today,I even forgot it was a Bank Holiday how daft am I ?
          Bye for now Glamma xxx

Did H settle with them , it would be good if she did then she could stay again if they offer ,
Hope GD had a nice child free night out .

            Lizzie
It was the same when GS went to the Leeds music festival,
£ 12.50 for a hotdog £6 for a bottle of water , it’s daylight robbery, they know the kids will pay it though .

            Glamm
How awful for that poor dog owner , I saw the photos on FB someone must know where it is .The poor dog will be traumatised too
Doest sound good for Jim does it , sad tosay but it’s unlikely he will be able to come home even if he recovers x

When Birthdays and memories come around it’s hard, you get to a point of acceptance but doesn’t take away the sadness does it .

I must admit i forgot it was bank holiday too ,
I rang my hairdresser to come on Monday to cut my friends hair , my friend is in a wheelchair and lives a distance away from our hairdresser and it’s easier all round if she gets it cut at my house rather than trying to get a power chair in the salon .
My hairdresser said you do know it’s bank holiday don’t you , I had totally forgot ,
We had a bit of a giggle as she confessed she had forgotten till her husband said shall we go out for the day 🤪

Its easier when you have little ones in school as you remember days off

We went to Dunelm but I didn’t see anything I really liked ,
I will keep looking maybe try The Range there’s a huge one opened at Dalton park ,
We have one on our retail over the road but it’s very small and has limited stock .

Grammar, not sounding too good at all for Jim.

Oma, hope the offer is accepted.

Started raining about 11.30, only a few spots though.
Got the washing in, it just needed airing off.
              Sun is shining again now.

                Hello everyone.

Fingers crossed the flat offer is accepted Oma.

                Poor Jim Glamma

I don't think bank holidays mean much when we are retired do they?

Mixed weather here in Stratford upon Avon. Sun, showers, sun again.
We went out for breakfast, went on a boat trip and had a little wander and a sit and an ice cream. Not as much walking as we would have liked, but I can only do so much.
We came back and went in the hotel pool and hot tub. We chose the right time to go in as there were several people going in as we got out.
Relaxing in the room now. We are meeting our friends downstairs in the bar at 6.30. They have booked somewhere for dinner but I don't know where.

That all sounds very nice Gemini, love the river trips.

I didn’t realise it was bank holiday either

Glamm, so sorry to hear about Jim, I doubt he will be able to come home now. You have been so kind to him.

Oma, I hope they accept the offer on the flat. H settled very well with GS1 and the family. GGD1 and GGS were so excited to have her stay. I have been with GD and H all day, we went to a place called Beaconscot, it is an amazing model village very close to us. It was very busy.

                        Good morning everyone.

Nan2, that meal is exactly what I had for my dinner last night! And very good it was too.

It was lovely catching up with our friends. We had a drink in the hotel bar then a short walk to the restaurant for a meal.
We have earmarked another nearby place for breakfast today. We have to check out of the hotel by 11 but our car parking is paid until 3 so we can leave when it suits us.

Enjoy the bank holiday whatever you are doing

Quiet day for me, I am going to DS and Dil’s later for a sandwich lunch and give advice to Dil about her garden. Goodness knows what plants she has been buying. DS takes no part in the plants. They are very much party animals and DS and his youngest son have designed a sort of sunroom cum bar to replace the shed.

Gemini, all good things come to an end, your weekend away sounds good, lovely to have a pool.

Nanto,, it is Bank Holiday, no washing or housework allowed.

                              Good BankHoliday Monday morning, everyone.

Nanto, thank you for the welcome home. What a pretty graphic to greet us today. I love chicken, leek and mushroom pie, but whenever I make it my pie crust seems to collapse into the filling. I wonder what your OH will find at the car boot sale.

Gem, do you feel more relaxed for your week-end in Stratford? It must have been great to see your friends yesterday. Safe journey home.

Oma, It would be nice if the weather stayed dry for the Bank holiday today. Is there any news on your DD's offer on the flat yet? Fingers crossed.

Glamm, I'm sorry to hear Jim is so poorly. It must seem strange to you knowing he's not next door, even though you haven't been able to have much contact with him recently.

This Bank Holiday seems to be very low key, and I've always felt it should be moved to say the end of October when everyone needs a bit of break before winter sets in.

We had a busy, but useful weekend at DS1's. They had a lot of work done on the garden a couple of years ago, but they ended up with one corner where they put the shed and greenhouse where the lawn sloped down into the tree-lined hedge at the back. It's ended up as a dumping ground for things they don't use much, and it's been irritating DS for a while. So on Saturday he and OH moved all the stuff out, and levelled the ground, putting the extra soil on the the lawn. But there wasn't enough soil so they had to get more yesterday morning, and when it was all nice and level they put turf down. DS usually seeds the lawn, but this corner is quite shady and the grass needs help to get going. They got it finished just before it started to rain - perfect timing. DIL had had a night away visiting an old friend, so on Saturday I did dinner, although lovely DIL had done most of the preparation. I even used the air fryer!

I think we need a lazy day today, though!
