Oma, we're still getting Christmas cards - all posted in good time! How did your visit to MIL go?
Lizzie, no wonder your friend is upset and changing her plans to take the family out for her birthday meal. Even more so that one of her daughters has had her "sister" tattoo changed. Families, eh!
Gem, is your kitchen full of goodies?
I seem to have had a busy - washing, hoovering etc. Soooo exciting! I took Eva for a mud bath ... err, I mean walk ... in the Forest. It was so wet underfoot I didn't even try my planned route, but the one I used wasn't much better. Done the Sainsbury order for tomorrow, helped OH to fix the summerhouse door. Just going to start dinner, make the bed up, portion up some dog food and then relax!!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Oma, i can believe it about the card only arriving today.
Lizzie, what a shame about your friends daughters falling out.
We know a family whose 2 sons fell out over Brexit. They haven't spoken since.
Daisy, hope you are relaxing now. Glad the summerhouse door is fixed.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oma, I'm sure you don't mind helping her when she's pleasant and chatty, and she's very lucky to have the great variety of delicious meals you and B make for her.
Nanto, how sad that two brothers should fall out over something like Brexit. It must be hard on their parents.

Good morning. Its a cold wind, but at least its dry and bright.
Daisy,it is sad that they fell out over Brexit.
Oma, how nice for MIL to be pleasant. It makes it so much nicer to visit.
Hubby has asked for fish and chips today. We havent had them for ages.
I think we were having them too often and we went off them.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning Nan2 and Mickey.
I love fish and chips but if we had them very regularly I would get tired of them. I think OH is doing a stir fry tonight.
Good to hear MIL was nice Oma, and appreciated those wonderful meals. I didn't realise Christmas cards were still floating around in the postal system!
Lizzie, long term family arguments like that are sad and pointless aren't they?
Daisy I did feel quite productive yesterday with the carrot and ginger soup, the bread and 2 chicken casseroles. I did think about making apple crumbles, but thinking was as far as it went
School pick up this afternoon. Just GS2's school. GD will meet me there. DD and SIL share the secondary school drop offs with another family so some Fridays I pick up GD and H (a nice polite and chatty boy) before going for GS. Other weeks H's mum does it and drops GD near GS's school. Much less driving for me when it's not my turn!
Very wild wet and windy night here, but it looks calmer now and isn't raining. All the decorations but the trees and outdoor lights came down yesterday. I will take the trees down this morning and OH the outside lights. Although she could just leave them and not have them switched on, I think she will want to get them down.
Thinking of Plant and Clover and hoping they don't feel so bad today.βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

Morning ladies
Its was very wet last night but dry and bright this morning,
Did two loads of washing and drying , then we popped out to get some throat pastels for B heβs got this cold yet again ,
Just thought he had shook it off and itβs back .
He sat in car while I went in for them the wind is bitter cold ,
Plant
How are you today howβs the eyes ? Xx
Gem
I know a few who just leave the lights up all year just donβt turn them on , we take ours down
Sounds like a good productive day in the kitchen yesterday bet the baking smells were wonderful in your house π
Nanto
We havenβt had fish & chips for ages either , will you do home made or go to the chippy ?
we bought a new Vax carpet cleaner , well I say we B ordered it and I knew nothing about it till it arrived yesterday ,
He got it o the sale and it came with a floor steamer and free carpet cleaner.
He got a bargain direct from manufacture. We share it with our DD, she has the old one in the garage but we have had that one about 20 years between us , it works fine but the suction isnβt as good as it was and is leaving the carpet damper than it should be , so out with the old in with the new .
B wanted to clean our living room carpet this weekend but I donβt think that will happen the way heβs feeling .
Have a good day ladies xxxIm not fat just 6ft too small

My eyes are still red and sore, well not the eye itself now but they get very blurry. Still have a bit of a cough and feeling washed out. H was here yesterday which cheered me up. I have an online order coming from Waitrose tomorrow, couldnβt face shopping. Sil reminded me it was 12th night yesterday so I took my small amount of decks down, it took me two attempts. My GD is enjoying her new job.
Oma, my DD has a Vax, I have never used one, good luck with the new one. I hope your GCβs injuries are not long to heal. what a calamity. Why canβt your Mil always be pleasant, it makes your visit so much more enjoyable.
Gemini, your school pick-ups sound a bit complicated but as long as you are in the right place at the right time and have the right children you should be okay. I think after all your cooking, crumbles would have been a bit of an overkill.
Daisy, I hope you managed to avoid the mud on your walk, Eva must love it.

That was the doorbell - it seems very busy at the moment!
Plant, you've had a bad time with nasty bugs and sore eyes. I hope you are on the road to recovery, and have ordered yourself some nice Waitrose treats to tempt you to eat. It's hard to feel enthusiastic about cooking when you feel poorly. xx
Gem, you certainly have complicated school pick-ups. Your GCs are very lucky you are close enough to do them every week. x The carrot and ginger soup sounds delicious. Do you use your soup maker for it? We take our outside light down from the front garden, but we have some in the back garden which we leave up for summer use.
Oma, poor B, he seems to be having one cold after another. We've got a Vax - it's very good and leaves the carpets pretty dry. It's heavy to lug upstairs, though. It's always a shock to see the colour of the water afterwards.
Hello, Nanto and Mickey! I just fancy some fish and chips - we haven't had any for ages, although I did fish fingers, chips and peas the other night. The last time we had that must have been well over a year ago!
Just been out to hold the glass in place in the summerhouse door which OH is repairing. He did a temporary repair yesterday, but has now painted the new piece of wood and fixed it in place. He always does a thorough job and it's a family joke that he always over-engineers his repairs.

Just been next door to see H, she is a delight. Her mother is enjoying her new job with the horses, has been told to get some steel toe boots.. Energy level still very low but I am feeling things are going in the right direction. My appetite is quite good, I could do with someone to clean the house, it isnβt too bad as I am very tidyWhat is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Poor B Oma I hope he feels better soon and send him our love.
Plant I am glad to hear you have an appetite. I'm sure seeing little H did you the world of good. Someone to clean for you is an excellent idea. You have done your share of cleaning, let someone else have a turn!
Daisy and Plant, it's not as complicated as it sounds! I just go where I am told Every Friday I used to pick up from both schools (one further away at 2.30 the other on the way back at 3.15) The timings work out very well. Then DD started to share the school run. So depending on which families turn it is on the Friday I either go to both schools, which means setting off from home no later than 1.45, usually earlier, or just GS's, school which means I don't need to set off until 2.20.
Our plans changed and we ended up having fish and chips for tea like Nan2 Very nice they were as well.βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

Good morning everyone, I had a hectic day (for me) yesterday! I went to see how my plants were doing, the one I stripped has so many new shoots within a few days, whilst I was there one of the young girls from the office came and asked if I would see to the plants in the office as well, they have all see how well the plants are thriving with my loving care!
I then went to the next village for a few things, on the way home I decided to go and get myself some roses. In the afternoon I went to visit my friend, oh dear, the move has upset her, her mind was all over the place, upset, annoyed, tears etc. Blaming her children for taking her there, she was talking as though she had moved from here straight to where she is now, completely blocked out where she has been the last year. I left with the promise to go today with roses for her! I didn't like leaving her and went and told the carers how upset she was. Her daughter phoned me last night to let me know she was calmer and that it is the change she has problems with, I can understand that but I didn't like leaving her like she was.
Oma, I hope B is feeling better, there are so many here with some virus or the other, I was reading that the schools open on Monday and there will be children sent home etc as so many teachers are down with the flu.
Plant, I am pleased you are feeling better.
Gem, the home where my friend is in is opposite where the children used to go to school, the school has moved now to make way for more houses.
It was a lovely day yesterday, seems to be damp at the moment.
