    My car passed its MOT

We picked up GS1 from school and OH dropped me off to collect my car on the way back. All taxed and MOTed for another year.

Very damp and drizzly here but warmer than yesterday.

      Afternoon all

Gem good news about your car

Plant I hope to feel better soon. Eldest DS had the 'dreaded lurgy ' Weeks on and he still has a cough, not so bad now but at the time it was horrible. Coughs seem to be the last thing to go wearing you down Hope the pharmacist was able to help with your eyes.

This morning for almost 2 hours I kept my phone by my side waiting for the dr to ring.with my booked telephone appointment to discuss my blood pressure. It wasn't until I looked on the calandar I noticed that the appointment is for tomorrow morning! I am a fool

Later this morning the pharmacist rang to see how I was getting on with the tablets and did I have any side effects. He rang me a few weeks ago when I first started taking them. I have been on medication for one thing and another for longer than I care to remember and I've never had this sort of attention. Cant understand why. I did mention that I'm waiting to speak to the Dr tomorrow and hopefully he will either keep me on the same medication or change it as I am down to the last two tablets. I do know that I am on medication for the foreseeable future
The pharmacist said the dr should have spoken to me before Christmas and written a repeat prescription as my medication shouldn't get so low . He has assured me as soon as he receives the new prescription my tablets will be ready the same day . I hope so , it all seems a bit weird to me.

Thank goodness we've seen the last of the Christmas chicken and gamon. I'm fed up with trying to construct a different meal each day with the same ingredients. It's the beef stew saga all over again
Tomorrow we are having fish cakes, plain and simple fish cakes , can't wait!

      Have a good evening ladies
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

          Mimi
I think they sometimes check up on patients for their own research. My sister had same thing with her BP meds , Pharmacist said some producers require Data , it may be the same thing .

Pleased the car passed at least no worries for another year 😀

          Plant
Did you get to the Chemist , how you feeling now ?

The men came and put the car charger point in , not the prettiest of things but it's partially hidden by a tall planter outside so I will get used to it I suppose .

It's been so cold today , we went down Iceland and the wind was biting.

Gem, so sorry I didn't see your post this morning - you just beat me to it. Pleased to see your car passed its MOT - it's always a relief, isn't it! And your timing to pick GS1 up from school worked well. Was GS happy to be back at school?

Plant, I'm sorry you're still not feeling well, but I hope the pharmacist could give you something for your eyes. Did you get any shopping done/delivered? Take care and keep warm. xx

Oma, you're all set for an electric car now! The weather sounds about right for Iceland! LOL

Mimi, your pharmacist sounds like a treasure, and a good backstop with so many doctors' appointments hard to get. I think now they do sometimes check on a patient's meds, especially if they've just been changed. My OH had a call from the actual surgery asking if he'd talk to the pharmaceutical company about his inhaler for mild COPD. He said yes, and after a lot of confusion finally had a very detailed and useful conversation with them. They switched him to a new drug which seems more effective and is only one dose a day instead of two. I hope your conversation with your doctor is useful tomorrow. I hope your GS1 is soon better. There are so many lurgies about.

I sympathise with the food problem! Tonight I used up some smoked mackerel with a warm potato salad. The recipe said broccoli and beetroots with it, but I didn't have either. I did sprouts, cavalo nero and chopped up a stick of celery. I used the honey and lime dressing I'd made for the New Year's Eve started and it was all ok! It will be another invention test tomorrow as we've only got bacon, cheese, chorizo and eggs plus some white cabbage and carrots in the fridge! Oh, and some parsnips - mustn't forget those.

At least we got the indoor decorations down today, but it was far too wet to do the outside lights. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit drier.

The door to the summerhouse collapsed today! It's all perspex apart from a wooden frame, and the bottom of the frame had started to rot. It blew in the wind today and the whole bottom part of the frame dropped out, and so did the 'window'. OH has made another piece to fit it, but it was too wet to try and rebuild it. Another job for tomorrow!

Mimi we have only had sweet leftovers as we had no turkey etc, so haven't had that problem. Enjoy your fish cakes!

Daisy, GS1 really doesn't like school, would always prefer to stay at home and Mondays and new terms are always a challenge.
We were proud of him today as he went with no fuss. First day after the holidays and with daddy gone was likely to be hard .

Well I started to take Christmas things down today. The cards and a few other things. It made me feel sad and when I told OH when she came in she said 'Well why are you doing it then?!' So the rest will stay until the end of the week.

Off to bed now, Aquafit in the morning.
              Goodnight everyone.

Aquafit for me this morning, mum visit this afternoon.
Due to the horrible cold I had I haven't seen her since Christmas Day. I am taking a slice of our Christmas cake to her.

I hope Plant is starting to feel better.

                Have a good day everyone.

Well a horrible day for GS2 yesterday, plus GD
DS rang this morning , GS had a freak accident in Boxing yesterday resulting in his ear being almost ripped off ,
Spent 6 hours in hospital seeing surgeon as it was ripped from his head from where it meets his skull ,
Managed to give him 8 stitches to reattach, DS said it was just hanging down 😱

Got home late last night GD ran to meet them at the door kicked a chair and DS thinks she has broke toes or foot
When he rang this morning they were sitting again in A&E waiting to be seen , he said her foot is black this morning.

No Boxing or Dancing for those two for a while .

Hubby gone to his friends house. They are doing a job on GD2 car.
Mot is due at the end of the month.

I am so sorry I can’t reply to your posts although I have managed to read them. I now have an eye and chest infection. Went to the doctors today and she is more worried about the eyes and has given me an address for a walk-in eye clinic if they get any worse.

Good morning, Oma, how on earth did GD2 manage to do that? Will his hearing be affected?

It is blowing a gale here with heavy showers now and again. I have been to the new circuit group, with me not being able to go every Monday this will work out better for me.

Daisy, I hope the door can be repaired or will it need replacing?

Gem, enjoy your visit to your mum.

Nanto, enjoy the meal out. I had DB2 on face time yesterday afternoon and they often go for pub meals, I wish we could eat for that price here!
