    Good morning.

We had fish and chips yesterday Gem. The fish was nice but not fussy about chips from any fish shop.

Lizzie, how awful to have to leave your friend in that state.

Plant, glad your health is going in the right direction, you'll get there.

Oma, hope B's cold clears up soon.

Daisy, our family always say hubby is a perfectionist when he does jobs.

I think we are going shopping in Wakefield today. Plenty of shops to go in to dodge the rain.

Yesterday afternoon sis in law and hubby came, then another 2 family members joined us.
I don't think anyone wanted to go home. 4½ we were sat chatting. Tea cake and biscuits were served several times.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

      Good Saturday morning ladies.

Tea, cake , biscuits and chat, a perfect afternoon Nan2!

Lizzie. Your poor friend. My mum is disorientated enough just going downstairs at the home. I can only imagine what a complete move would do

      Oma, how is B today?

We are going to see friends this evening for a catch up. They will be going to New Zealand for 7 weeks towards the end of this month so we are grabbing the times we can!
No other plans today but we may go to Aldi this morning. It has been very windy and raining all night and still is.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. It's a wild one here with rain due soon.

Lizzie, your poor friend, and awful for you too, knowing how upset she is and not being able to reassure her. How kind of you to go back and visit her with some roses. I hope she is calmer and more settled today. It must be worrying for her daughter as well.

Nanto, I like (most) chip shop chips, but find the portions far too large. The fish is definitely the best part though. Your OH sounds just like mine, but even though I sometimes tease him about over-building things at least I know they won't fall apart in the next 100 years! Also I suppose they've built up their DIY skills over the years and can see the pitfalls to avoid. Your family sounds lovely, and you all obviously enjoy each other's company. It's a nice way to spend a miserable January afternoon. x

Oma, I do hope B is taking things easy and feeling a bit better. It's horrible when you keep getting one bug or cold after another. Sending him hugs. And your poorly sister as well. I remember getting an endless cycle of coughs and colds some years ago and in the end went to the doctors. She suggested just stopping whatever I was doing and having 3 days in bed. She said it's now really scientific, but it often works, and it did. It seemed to break the cycle of never quite getting over one thing before another hit.

Gem, it must feel strange knowing your friends are going to be away for so long. Enjoy your get together this evening. I hope they keep you posted on their travels and all the places they will visit. Are they seeing family or friends out there?

Plant, I think getting a cleaner would make a big difference to you, and would solve the problem of changing the bed as well if that was included. I'm so glad your GD1 is enjoying her new job, and steel-top capped boots or even wellies are a good idea. Is she able to take little H down to the stables to see all the horses? Take care - I hope your eyes are still improving.

We had a nice evening yesterday. Our neighbours came round for a New Year get together. Between family commitments and colds this was the first chance we'd had to say Happy New Year to each other. I did vol au vents with a cream cheese and prawn filling and everyone seemed to enjoy them.

No particular plans for today, except to make some cakes to take up to DS1 and DIL's tomorrow.

Oma, I am sorry B is still suffering, there are so many viruses going around. I doubt if he would agree to a few days in bed in one temperature.

Lizzie, your poor friend, I hope she settles, not nice to see a friend deteriorate like that. I am sure she will love the roses.

I am still finding reading and replying to your posts a bit of a strain so I am sticking to this one atm. I have a food delivery between 1 and 2 today. Just had an email stating the subs and out of stock items, not too bad just a couple. When I mention getting someone to do my bed to my DD she states it is not necessary as she will do it but she is so busy it doesn’t get done. I haven’t had the energy to do housework and it looks okay, I just do it because it is the day to do so.

hallo everyone, I have been to visit my friend, luckily she was over whatever it was yesterday!!! In fact she looked so much better. She loved the roses and we had a walk round a local shopping centre. It is very windy so I was soon back home! It is much nearer for me than the other home she was in.

Gem, enjoy the evening with your friends.

Oma, I hope that B and your sister are soon feeling better.

Daisy, the friends daughter seems to cope really well with all the caring, arranging etc. She has 3 daughters so has a busy life.

Plant, take it easy until you feel better, is it difficult finding a cleaner or help?

Good Morning Ladies,I'm still slowly going through my mini-spring clean doing one job at a time then having a rest this morning my son moved out the sofa's so I could dust underneath them not much dust thank goodness later I am doing the bathroom windows and surfaces all the glass in there collects so much dust as I have the window open all day.Next week my boy is clearing the gutters again they fill so quickly with leaves etc from the tree's in the front and back garden,it keeps him busy.

This morning I had DD crying on the phone as she had a client she has become fond off pass away whilst she was there its the first time she has had to go through this and it didn't help her as the lady was only 60 no age at all I don't know if I could do the job ?.

Oma how is B today hoping he is on the mend DD has suffered all week feeling poorly but she has battled on with work Dr said she has tonsillitis and a badly infected throat she has been prescribed antibiotics so hopefully she will feel better in the next few days.

Off now to carry on with some cleaning where does it all come from when only me living here ??

Plant, please don't think of trying to post anywhere else until you are fully able to. Rest those eyes!

I'm glad you found your friend in better spirits Lizzie. You are a good friend.

I hope B rests today Oma. Neither of you find resting easy!

How sad for your DD Glamma.

That does sound a nice evening Daisy.
One of our friends has family in New Zealand. Her brother and his family. She visits fairly often and they come over here. However this is the first year of retirement for both our friends, hence the 7 week trip this time. Her OH is one of my aquafit pals, I will miss her!

I had a phone call from mum's care home this morning saying she had had funny turn, after being initially fine on getting up. Slurring speech a little not very responsive and very pale She soon recovered, but was tired and pale. They helped her to lie back on the bed.
They rang for medical advice and were told to just keep an eye on her , do regular obs and get back in touch if anything worsens.
I have spoken to them since and mum seems fine. A covid test was negative. She had a much longer episode like this a few months ago, when she did test positive for covid. Paramedics were called out that time.
Neither she nor we as a family want any hospital intervention or tests. She was fine after the previous episode so fingers crossed she will be this time.

It must be concerning but hopefully she’s ok now , at her age it will take longer to recover when she has these spells.

Your DD must be so upset , she’s a lovely girl ,
Working with Tonsillitis can’t be easy hopefully she rests in between visits ,
Doing a few jobs a day it’s surprising how much you get through .

GS rang about 3 could he come for tea , DD was out so him and the dog arrived to be fed ,
                    left about 20 minutes ago.

Oma, GS and Storm know they can always depend on you for a meal.

Very upsetting for your DD Glamm, I hope her Tonsillitis clears up quickly.

Gemini, pleased to hear your mum recovered okay, sounds like a small stroke. Or perhaps she is aneamic.

Lizzie, so pleased your friend was feeling better, I am sure she loved the roses.

Daisy, my GD had a horse step on her big toe years ago and the toenail has always been damaged. The horses are mainly in the fields, they have to go out and give them medication, they only come in if they are poorly or when they first arrived.

For the second consecutive day I've taken Eva out in the afternoon. Overcast but otherwise not too bad, and each time we've got soaked and blown about by sudden squally showers. This afternoon is was a long walk up from the river with the wind trying to blow us back. Eva wasn't amused. I was surprised how many people and dogs there were around in such awful conditions. Just about thawed out now and off to cook dinner.

I'll pop back later hopefully, but hope everyone is ok. xx

Plant I have wondered about those mini tia strokes.
Our hairdresser has a horse and got her foot trodden on last year and lost her toe nail.

Lucky GS Oma, how is his ear?

We had a good day in Wakefield. Parked up in Trinity Walk, then headed to our favourite cafee for coffee.
Just got in when the heavens opened, and i mean they opened.
Went round some of the shops, when the heavens opened we made a dash to the Ridings.
After a while we went back to the cafe for dinner.
                              Shopped in Sainsburys this week.

                                Good morning everyone.

Oma, sorry for mixing up your GSs!

That sounds like a good trip with downpours dodged Nan2.

We are going to DD3's today. They are hosting a family brunch for SIL's birthday, which was on Friday. SIL is great cook who makes all his own bread (no bread maker) etc so we will be in for a treat. I have an unopened bottle of Bucks Fizz left over from New Year's Eve so will be taking that to add to the celebrations.

                                Happy Sunday everyone.
