Good morning everyone.
Dull here too Nan2 and none too warm at the moment.
Daisy, you are busy! Do you have any more caravan plans this summer?
Today is the day I predicted the baby would be born, so we shall see! I guessed GS2's birthdate correctly DD has the midwife again today.
School pick up this afternoon. I just wait in a car park for GD, and it's not too long a walk to collect GS2. I'm looking forward to seeing them. I haven't seen GD for ages.
I hope everyone is well or getting there. Have a good Friday.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning, I was still very tired yesterday so taking it even easier today!
DS1 and family are on their way to one of the islands at the top of the Netherlands, one where no cars are allowed, they have been a few times and loved it. DIL and GD2 came yesterday to get their wave boards out of the garage.
I am going to sit out with my knitting! I have the sun screen hung up so lovely out there now.

Yes Oma, they will there for a week, then they return home and GD1 goes with her friends family for a week, she goes with them every year, the rest are having a few days in Groningen and then picking GD1 up to bring her back with them, then, a week on their boat so that is the 3 weeks holiday planned!!!
Enjoy the meal with the grandchildren.xxxx

Good Friday morning, everyone. It's bright and sunny here again, but forecast to be a little cooler than yesterday - about 23C I think. Anyway, I took Eva out about 8 o'clock, because it's been too hot to walk her the last few days. She's now sleeping off the walk and her breakfast!
Gem - I do hope you're right about baby arriving today. My lovely neighbour messaged me first thing - their 4th GC, a little girl - arrived at 4 am today. She's so excited and looking forward to her first cuddles. I'm sure your GD will be just as delighted to see you as you are to see her. Have a lovely time.
Oma - you must be looking forward to seeing GS2 and GD today. I do wish I could send the sun up to you so you could have tea in the garden! Perhaps it will pick up later, despite the forecast. I had to smile at your 'quick dash' to Asda taking so long! But I love it when I meet friends by accident like that.
Lizzie - your DS1 and family have certainly got their holidays organised. You will miss them while they are away. Having a quiet day with your knitting sounds the best idea. I hope you soon get your energy back, though.
Nanto - how exciting to be going to see GD1 and the baby. I'll be thinking of you - have a lovely time. Will you be able to take some photos for us?

Lizzie, listen to your body and rest as much as you can!
It's been raining here too Oma.
Nowadays they give expectant mothers a lot of choices and freedom that we didn't have.
At DD's stage of pregnancy they will normally offer to do a Stretch and Sweep, which can trigger labour if your body is ready. Or they can offer induction. As long as BP etc is normal if mothers don't want any intervention they will just book them in for another appointment 3 or 4 days later.
Myself I would opt for the Stretch Sweep at this stage. DD2 was 3 days over when I had that and she was born a few hours later. I'm not sure DD is ready for intervention yet.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem - I think it's good that the mum's wishes are listened to, although it must be hard for the midwives if the mum is determined to do something they think is unadvisable. When I was in hospital with GS2 another new mum was told she had to go ahead with a pre-planned sterilisation, even though she'd changed her mind! You can't imagine that happening now, thank goodness."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Daisy, it is good to hear expectant mothers are listened to these days, didn’t happen in my day. I am sure Eva enjoyed her walk before it got too hot.
Gemini, I hope that baby will not be too long in coming, although it will come when it is ready. I wonder if your prediction will be right.
Oma, how lovely for you to see your youngest GC, do you see them often now. I suppose they are old enough to make their own choices. Have a lovely time.
I am running very late today as I slept in, would you believe I started coughing in the night, I thought I was in the final stages of Covid. I will pop back later. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Keep taking it easy Plant.
Have a lovely time with the GC Oma!
Daisy and Plant, some mothers were treated dreadfully in the past by some doctors and midwives. Nowadays they can't lay finger on you without your permission. I don't remember them ever asking my permission to do an internal examination, it was, just 'this is what's going to happen'!
