Oma, I hope you find your Mil in a reasonably good mood. Oma, I have just had my oven and microwave cleaned, the man used something called Pink Stuff and elbow grease of course. I am sure you would know this cleaning stuff. I have ordered some from Amazon.

Daisy, Loads of washing unfortunately leads to loads of ironing, save that for a rainy day. Pleased to hear J isn’t suffering too badly with the after effects of the injection this time.

Nanto, love the baby graphic, have a good day.

Lizzie, that is a beautiful bird.

Gemini, I hope your visit to your mum goes well.

      Good morning ladies,

I'm glad to hear the poorly ones are improving. I hope Glamma is too.

I hope OH's eye is more comfortable today Daisy.

Oma, as you say, MIL is lucky to get any home made meals cooked for her in this heat!

Lizzie that is a good photo.

Nan2, keeping the name secret is understandable, something to 'announce'.

It was raining earlier, and it is very dull, and lot cooler.
I am going to see mum this afternoon. I will be exactly 4 weeks since I last saw her.
DD3 has been having some stronger twinges over the last day or so, so maybe something is happening.

Good Morning ladies,I am feeling brighter today still tired and dropping asleep as soon as I sit down but generally I am feeling much better there is still a faint line on the test hopefully it will be clear tomorrow or Saturday.
I have had to stop my son & DGD from visiting today they usually call in every Thursday for a couple of hours she likes to tend to her plants and feed the birds for me.
Thats another thing !! how the price of bird food has rocketed up in price it has almost doubled since I last bought some at B&M,Oliver's yogurt treets have also gone up 50% I was shocked when DGS dropped off my shopping yesterday.

I've done a dark wash with all the towels and bathroom mats yesterday I did the whites and they where dried very quickly they have just got to be ironed ( another day I think).

        Take care everyone
        Glamma xx

Gem, I didn't take the photo! If you saw the camera's etc that the men were holding, must have cost a fortune!!!!

Good morning everyone. It's 22C here, but there's a bit of a breeze and is less heavy today.

We were up bright and early for Sainsbury's delivery, but I don't know where the time as gone - except I did an online shop at Superdrug and it took ages, then didn't recognise my password! Sorted eventually, but hopefully our internet woes will soon be over. OpenReach came and checked our access to put the fibre cables in on Monday, and are currently digging up the pavement outside our house. It seems we're the only house with ducting already in place, which seems a bit odd!

Nanto and Oma - you've reminded me I need to get my hair trimmed!

Oma - your MIL is very lucky to get cooked meals in this weather. Does she like salad?

Gem - it sounds as though baby might be getting ready to make an arrival. I hope so, I'm sure your DD3 is suffering in this weather. The last couple of weeks are hard even without being roasted. I hope your mum is ok. Is there air con in the home?

Nanto - oooh, I wonder what name they've chosen. Is anybody in the family trying to guess?

Lizzie - I've never heard of a Squacco Heron, but he/she is very beautiful - lovely colour. I can imagine all the bird watchers out there, with 600mm lenses and huge tripods! You're right - thousands of pounds worth of equipment. I'm so glad you're feeling better.

Glamm - it's good to hear you're on the mend. I hope that faint line disappears tomorrow, but do take it easy. Several of us have found you feel better one minute then rubbish the next. Be kind to yourself. xx

Plant - I've tried Pink Stuff, especially on the glass door of the oven. I obviously need more elbow grease though as it didn't make much difference. How are you feeling now?

OH's eye looks really good this morning, although he says it's throbbing a bit. Still, better than usual though, and he's very grateful that there is treatment available.

We decided not to wait for the washing machine to deposit gallons of water all over the floor, and have ordered a new one! It should arrive next Wednesday.

I had to cancel my haircut, she is coming next week. I have had two medical phone calls this week, one from the cardiology dept. Informing me of the result of the Eco I had. Apparently I have three slightly leaky heart valves which isn’t unusual at my age, they will check again in two years (can’t be that serious then), they hadn’t got the result of the heart monitor I wore for a day and she said my doctor will deal with the BP if it is too high. Then a pharmacist phoned today to discuss my drugs but he hadn’t got a recent blood test as I had to cancel that on Monday. He said my calcium was a bit high the last time, perhaps that is because I have two injections a year for my bones. I don’t mind telephone appts. I just need to get rid of the psoriasis then I will be a new woman.

Daisy, that sounds like a good idea to replace the washing machine before it floods the floor or breaks down mid-wash. Pleased to hear J is not so uncomfortable this time after the injection. Good news that you will be connected to the world soon.

Back from MILs she was ok actually ,not as much moaning today although she didn’t like the curry last week it was buttered chicken she prefers Corma , and the mashed potato on her shepherds pie was to creamy 🙄 how cam mash be too creamy ?

His sister took her for a eye test on Monday wasn’t happy they couldn’t park the car right outside the shop as it’s double yellow lines on the main shopping street ,
Has to go back next Monday to get them already moaning she will have to walk from the nearest parking place about 5 minutes away ,
Not our problem though his sister is taking her 😁

It’s overcast and we has all of a few drops of rain then it stopped

                  Plant
if they not checking till two years time they must not be worried about it ,
Phone appointments are ideal if you don’t need to actually see the person face to face .

Yes Pink stuff is good but still needs a bit of working in , you can get all sorts of pink stuff cleaner and it’s very cheap 👍😁

                  Glamm
Sounds like your on the mend ,
Everything is more expensive isn’t it , even stuff you don’t imagine would go up .

                  Daisy
Best to get that Washer now before itbreaks down with wet clothes in and having to cope with that .

                  Gem
hope your Mum is good and doesn’t realise you haven’t been ,
How was your Wiltshire farm food like ?

Violet was mams name. I don't dislike it,but its too old for me.
I must admit i do like a lot of more modern names.

Thank everyone for your kind wishes for my visit to mum. She didn't realise I hadn't been for a month , which was good. Conversation was hard as it's getting harder for her to join in. I took ice lollies in a cool box and she enjoyed that. I was sad to leave her, but I'll know she is in the right place. I enjoyed my drive. I hadn't driven for a month, but I hadn't forgotten how to do it!

OH was in a golf competition near Leeds. She had a very good day.

Daisy, good plan to get a new washing machine before it goes!

Plant, I wish you could get rid of the psoriasis.

Gem, sounds like your visit to mum wasn't too bad. I understand about you being sad to leave her.
Glad OH had a good golfing day.

DS2 and partner called in today. We all decided to go out to eat.
First of all we went to Currys, they wanted a new tv. Managed to get the one thay wanted.
We went back to their house and had a cuppa while they set up the new tv.
It was about 5ish when we got home,so have had a couple of hours relaxing.

Nanto - I know you thought the world of your Mother and father in law, and you were so kind in looking after them as you did, but you do have more free time now and it's good to see you getting out and enjoying yourselves whenever you feel like it. xx Those are all pretty names. My lovely MIL's name was Alice -it's one of those timeless names, that's never out of fashion, isn't it.

Gem - you are sounding much like your old self (in the sense of your usual self), and I'm pleased your mum was ok, even if conversation was difficult. I'm glad S had a good day with the golf. Perhaps there was a bit of breeze out on the course to keep the temperature down a bit. It's lovely when you actually enjoy a drive - so often the traffic is awful and it's just a chore.

Oma - I sometimes wonder if your MIL lies awake at night thinking up all the things she can have a little grumble about. I must admit mash being too creamy takes some beating, bless her.

Plant - it's frustrating when test results haven't been collated - it leaves you wondering - but if they don'[t want to see you for two years you must be pretty fit. I do wish the psoriasis would clear up though. It must be annoying for you. How is your SIL's arm doing?

I don't know where today's gone! But several long phone calls this evening meant we didn't get any dinner. We've just had Weetabix! I did a bit of weeding and dead heading in the garden, cleaned the hall and cloakroom, wrote a few cards and letters, and that seems to be it.
