Sorry again for being absent. Struggling again at the moment. Had my covid booster yesterday and feel very sore and achey today. Was quite pleased with myself though, after I had my jab I drove to the local shopping centre and had a look around M & S, that’s the first time I’ve done that on my own since before lockdown! I’m finding it quite difficult to do things in my own so that was a milestone! I’m enjoying going to my knitting and craft groups though, everyone is very friendly and they are helping me through some difficult days.

Hope everyone is doing OK. 😀

Enfys, its a step in the right direction going to M&S on your own.

Plant - how was the outdoor bowls?

Glamm - your colour scheme sounds very pretty. You have such good ideas for decorating. Your little GGS is a sweetheart. I loved the photos of him. Did you and DD get your shopping done ok? Does your DD live near you - I bet it was busy with no ferries and no trains! Yes, the Runcorn Bridge is a bit out of your way.

Oma - I love how you've got the next job lines up. Can B have a day off between the jobs, or will you crack the whip and keep him working? x Glad MIL was ok - she's certainly getting well looked after with meals.

Gem - as always, it's such a relief when your OH gets clear results - you can relax again now. Very pleased for you both.

Lizzie - I think car sat navs can be quite trying! I'm glad you've sorted yours out. It drives my OH mad when any devices change and he has to learn a new way of using them.

Speaking of my OH, today he uttered a sentence I never thought would pass his lips in a million years! It was "Let's go to the garden centre tomorrow." We've both spent all day on the garden today, and need to get a few bits and pieces, plus some saucers for plant pots and some bedding plants, so we've put the carpet shopping off till next week and we'll go to the garden centre instead, after Sainsbury's have delivered. :0

Nanto - I wish you could come carpet shopping with me - I never know what I want. Well I do, but can never find what I see in my imagination! I'm glad you are enjoying having more free time and are able to get out and socialise more.

Enfys - you are doing very well - and it's no mean achievement if your local shopping centre is in the middle of the town or Castle Point. Did you buy anything? Your craft and knitting groups sound very friendly, and good company. Sending hugs. x

Enfys just read you went to the shopping centre , well done it can’t be easy but you have made the first step
next time hopefully you won’t be as anxious 👍

Gem GREAT news about S so pleased 😁 isn’t it lovely to feel baby kicking , new life coming into the world soon 😁

Lizzie clever you getting it sorted I wouldn’t know where to start , but you can find all sorts of instructions on the web these days ,
I would have to have the Idiots guide I can’t even use all the functions on my phone 😂

Nanto was it a surprise visit , always nice to see family ,

Yes my Dad was very young but he had been poorly for many years with various things but it was Lung Cancer that took him in the end , like a lot of people in those days he was a heavy smoker ( woodbines )
He used to call them his coffin nails , my sister died of Lung Cancer aged 52 again a heavy smoker .
          Sad but that’s life isn’t it .

Daisy strike while the iron is hot , get J to the garden centre quick before he changes his mind 😂😂

Usually I do the decorating but with not being well these past few weeks and my hand tremors getting uncontrollable lately
B is taking over , he said with a paint brush in my hands the walls would look like Jackson Pollock had painted them 😂😂😂

Had a lovely tea with M & C , they got a date for baby today , starting her off on 31st
With it being a IVF baby and her brain tumour they taking no chances ,
Its all so real now for them ,

The little devil had Clare very uncomfortable in the restaurant tonight , decided half way through her meal to push its bum up her ribs , poor girl has a cold too but she’s doing great ,
We got to see the finished nursery and all the little clothes etc

Then we had a play with the pram and all the bits ,you need a degree with prams these days , these pram units are all bells and whistles .

Nice and bright here.Going to get the towels in the wash.

Oma,prams are not like they used to be. We had 4 wheels,a hood, cover and a brake.

GD2 and her partner are going to London for the weekend.
She is leaving her car here while they are away.

              Morning Nanto
              Basic what we had 😁

Its overcast and dull , washing in tumble no point putting it out on the line .

Plumber been took radiator off and capped it so now B can finish off
He’s going to meet his Army pals for lunch , about 30 of them meet once a year , he will pick his cousin up first who he served with , so nothing will get done today .

What are we all up to today , something nice I hope cx

Oma, baby equipment is all designed for safety now and it defeats me, I couldn’t get baby H out of the high chair the other day. Eventually had to loosen the straps and lift her out that way. We used to have to lift out a sleeping baby from the car to put them in the pushchair, not any more. I hope all goes well for the expectant parents.

Well done Enfys, little steps turn into big ones.

I have the hairdresser coming this morning and this afternoon I am going to the villager hall to a tea party run by Village Care. I am not exactly needy but it is a chance to catch up with friends. That’s my day sorted.

Good morning, I agree with you Plant about the baby equipment, when GD's were small, not that long ago, we would strap the maxi cosi in with the seat belt, I was at the hairdressers the other day, she has 2 young children and she had something in hall, I asked what they were? They are bases for the maxi cosi, they fit in the car then you just click the childs seat on to the base! So much equipment like that.

It is a lovely day, I have got hoovered through etc so I will have a bike ride.

Oma, it will be strange for you being on your own!xx

Nanto, yes our prams were certainly not like the prams of today.

Good morning and a quick 'hello' from me.

Enfys - I do hope you're feeling better after your booster jab yesterday. xx

We're just going out to the garden centre, so I'll pop back on here later.

                        Good morning dear ladies.

Re the baby equipment talk, I will probably need training to operate my new grandchild's pram system

Oma, I hope B enjoys his get together (we need to arrange one!) How exciting for Clare to have a date!

I hope it's a nice tea party Plant. As you say meeting up with friends is always lovely.

I hope your GD has a good time in London Nan2. Its so long since I have been!

Enfys, it is still early days for you. Everything you do on your own is a new step. I hope your vaccine side effects soon wear off.

                        Happy garden centring Daisy!

Today we are going to Betty's!
We had afternoon tea vouchers for Christmas. When we are lucky enough to have them we use just one at a time, and buy an extra sandwich and tea and maybe a portion of chips to share. There are far too many cakes in an afternoon tea so we find this method works well. And gives us two afternoon tea occasions We will make this our lunch and take the bus in and back.

It was lovely and sunny this morning. Got the towels dried.

GD2 came this morning to leave her car. Her partners mum picked them up to take them to the train station.
She texted about 3ish,to say they had just arrived at their hotel.

Good Evening ladies! It has been a lovely day here. I went to the village coffee morning and met some of the locals although it was interesting to find several people had recently moved into the village. I was invited to join the Ladies group which meets on the second Wednesday of the month. Everyone was very welcoming and the coffee cake was delicious. £1 for a coffee,£1.50 with cake!!
This afternoon I decided to do a bit of exploring . DD told me about an app which shows footpaths in the local area, so I downloaded it and off I went. Up hill and down dale, through fields and woods carpeted with bluebells and wild garlic and I even met a muntjac deer. However, I had no idea where I was! I was beginning to panic until I recognised a couple of buildings. Unfortunately the way home took me up a very long hill and I was cream crackered by the time I reached home. I shall sleep well tonight I think! If walking up and down these hill doesn't make me fit, I don't know what will!
Going into town with DD tomorrow. I have a little list of things I need to get.
Lovely to hear about all these new arrivals ! As tizzy used to say :IWOOT! No chance she says.
                              Take care everyone x

WeeGranny - it sounds as though you've started some new friendships todayI can see you being a very busy lady! What a lovely walk you had, even though it did stretch a few led muscles you didn't know you had. I hope you're not stiff in the morning.

It's so lovely to have new babies on the way, but you do need an engineering degree to operate the equipment they need. The talk of baby seats reminds me that we used to put the carrycot in the back of our estate car - with the baby inside! Then we got a new-fangled car seat which hooked under the backrest of the back seat. Health & Safety would have a fit these days!

Oma - Is C being induced, rather than a C-section? Gem - start practising on the pram system.

Nanto - I hope GD2 is having a great time in London. I wouldn't like to live there, but I do enjoy a day out doing touristy things.

Gem - did you enjoy yourselves at Betty's? It sounds lovely, but I know it's expensive. Great for a special treat.

We decided to try the scene of several months of road works to get to the garden centre this morning. It was fine, even though work continues there. OH went to get his car washed while I started shopping. I browsed round and found a few birthday cards first. All very eco-friendly with no plastic wrappers, but I needed something to stop them getting dirty from me handling plants etc. OH was back from the car wash in about 15 minutes -straight in and out again. We found most of what we wanted, and I had a good look round at all the plants. We got a hardy Fuchsia and a few trays of bedding plants. There was just too much choice! It was a lovely day so we had lunch in the garden and then I started planting. I'll finish it off tomorrow - after I've mowed the lawn again. It's growing so fast.
