Sun is shining. We are going to Wakefield today, so supermarket shopping will be done in Sainsburys.

Daisy,we have only been to London twice. I liked doing all the touristy things.
Loved going on all the famous shopping streets and visiting all the shops.
The second time we went,we went,we saw the show The Lion King in the west end.
Hubby not fussed about going again, but i would go.

WG, what a lovely day you had yesterday. I think you are going to fit in very well there.
Are your legs aching this morning.

Gem, hope you enjoyed your visit to Betty's.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

The Lion King is a great show isn't it Nan2?

WG, I can see you are throwing yourself into local life already. Careful not to get lost next time though!

Daisy, our turn to go to a garden centre today.

We enjoyed our lunch at Betty's, thank you everyone. Even nicer when it is a gift voucher. The queue wasn't long and compared to all the Disney and Universal queues was not a queue at at all!! A lovely leisurely lunch there then I went to Lush for a bubble bath bar. I love Lush, OH can't stand the smell of it so waited outside

We sat in the park on the way back to the bus. It was a dull afternoon so much quieter than when DD3 and I were there the day before. Luckily we had seen the weather forecast which turned out to be very accurate. Rain was forecast at 5 and arrived almost to the minute. By the time we got off the bus it was raining heavily As we expected it we had umbrellas in our bags so didn't get wet walking home for the bus stop.
Garden centre for us today. OH wants some tomato and cucumber plants. I will finally finish the last of my holiday unpacking!

      Have a good Saturday everyone.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. I hope the sun is shining on you all.

Nanto - enjoy your shopping trip. What would you particularly like to see if you went to London again? We're lucky in having lived just north of London and just to the south so day trips were easy days out when our children were young. One thing I always enjoy is just a boat ride along the Thames - and the London Eye!

Gem - that's one unexpected benefit of your Disney holiday - UK queues are relatively short. Glad you had a good time though. Unpacking is a bore, isn't it!

I'm going to plant out tomato plants today. There's no frost forecast for the next week, and they're getting leggy in the summerhouse. After that - more gardening, I think.

Good morning, a lovely sunny morning, showers were forecast but it is dry.

DS1 let me know they had arrived back home at 9pm. a 12 hour drive. He will get a rest over the weekend, I think it is Aberdeen for him next week.

Gem, I can't stand Lush or anything with a perfume, IF I go to Ikea I run through the part where those scented candles are.

Daisy, your tomato plants should be fine outdoors. I have just washed my last winter jacket so no more cold mornings!

I saw The Lion King a few years ago with the girls, I am not a musical lover but I did enjoy that, we all did, it was really good to see it.

Lizzie I think Lush is a love it or hate it thing . It is the only shop I could ever imagine working in, just for that lovely smell!

Lizzie - I'm sure you were glad to hear your DS and family had arrived back safely from Gdansk. I do hope you're right about the tomatoes. I find washing winter clothes to put them away is a sure indication the weather will revert to deepest winter.

Gem - I love the Lush smell, too. I wonder, though, if you're experiencing it every day you might not smell it any more. That would be a shame.

                Morning ladies

Are you looking for flowers as well as Cucumber etc at the garden centre ?

Betty’s is a treat but lovely isn’t it , did you stay long in the park ?

Lizzie your DS will be tired all that driving then back to England next week with work .

Nanto enjoy your trip to Wakefield, are you window shopping or after something in particular?

Daisy hope the weather stays fine to get the tomatoes planted up , how did dog training go this week with Eva ?

We popped down to Lidle and Iceland this morning , got half way around Iceland and the fatigue hit me like a brick ,
I had to stop I couldn’t breath and my legs felt like lead
I thought I was feeling so much better and back to normal , clearly not .

WG, you did have a lovely walk, the bluebells in the woods are just beautiful at the moment. Very pleased the coffee and cake went well and friends were made. I hope you find a craft group soon. Give me a ring when you fancy a lunch out.

Daisy, I am off to the garden centre today, I would like some geraniums and other plants for the pots in the courtyard where I have taken out the bulbs. We have drizzle atm after the lovely sunny day yesterday. DD and Sil were off early this morning to catch a ferry to France to look at a house in Normandy. It is a very large shared ownership house. They are back tomorrow and DD has to be at work on Mon, they must be mad. We used to put the carry cot on the back seat, car seat just hooked over the back of the seat and no belt as the children grew older. They survived, there wasn’t so much traffic on the roads and we didn’t have motorways.

Lizzie, that was a long drive for your son, pleased he was back safely.

Nanto, enjoy your shopping trip to Wakefield. Although we live just a short train journey to London we rarely go. Much too busy for me now.

Nice to have lunch out Gemini, especially if it is a gift. My Sil ordered some cakes from Betty’s for my DD’s birthday in March, lovely taste but very expensive and not very big.

Good morning everyone, what a beautiful day it is here.

Everyone is busy with their planting aren't they I am going to our local Centre next week to pick up some plants for my two wooden large tubs which sit outside in my front garden.

I would love to go to Betty's Gem I am thinking of asking my friend D does she fancy an overnighter to York over the summer are the B&Bs very expensive with it being a tourist area ?

Daisy I so remember those times when little ones where carried in the back seat in their carrycots we had a soft topped LandRover years ago and used to put DS2s highchair in the open back so he could wave to people behind us obviously he was well strapped in but we would be locked up nowadays we then moved on to those car seats which looked like an egg shell from Halfords do you remember them ?

Next week I am off to the Vue Cinema not far from me in New Brighton to see the new Downton Abbey film I was due to go last week but sat down after lunch and fell asleep so I missed the start,I know I could have gone to the next showing but I don't like being out too late on my own.

Gem I hope you managed to get the pram system put together they are so difficult you need a separate pair of hands to do them,it was much easier to just put the baby in a big pram and off you go but then you had the only option was to walk everywhere.

I'm waiting for DD to arrive this morning we are off to Town to meet my friend M for a spot of lunch in our favourite little pub then go along to the Polish bakery for their super delicious cakes so I'll say bye for now enjoy the rest of the day ladies xx glamma xx

Oma, that virus has really taken it out of you. There is nothing you can do but rest as much as you can. I hope you are fully fit soon.

I hope you enjoy the film Glamma. We want to see that too. Premier Inn is probably your best bet for reasonably priced stay in York. Will you be driving or coming by train?

Plant we went to a garden centre too.
We bought tomato, cucumber and bean plants, and nemesia and a clematis to replace my beloved Montano which died last year. I also bought a baby shower card and gift bag.
We went to the local Sainsbury's on the way back for a few things. Now we are staying in.
                      OH is watching ladies football.

I had booked a meal for all the family next week whilst I am away, I have just cancelled it, I don't mind really, DS1 will be in Sweden for his work and DS2 said it would be better if all of us are together, so, there is another plan for later on in the summer. I am going to DS2 tomorrow for lunch, it is Mothers Day here. DS1 is coming later on he said. He was telling me about Gdansk, they loved it, just a very long drive though. He did say the hotel was the best they have stayed at.

Oma, I am the same after the flu, most people I know that have had it are the same, 4 or 5 weeks is necessary to get the energy back, I do go out etc then it hits me and I have to sleep. DS2 had covid and he still doesn't feel right, he has a lung test coming up anytime, he should have had it last week but it was postponed.

                          Seems strange him driving ,

Gem got news letter thank you xx

Oma - that wretched Covid bug is really being mean to you. As everyone says, all you can do is rest, but I hope it doesn't last much longer for you. How lovely to have a surprise visit from GS. I agree - it seems strange having them driving. My GS1 has never really socialised - college was all lockdown and at school none of his friends lived even remotely close enough to get together. But now he's working he goes out socialising with work mates, and it all seems very strange.

Lizzie - yes, much better if you can all have a meal together. Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow, and enjoy your lunch with DS2.

Gem - you did well with your garden centre shop. I got some Nemesia - the nicely scented one. I think it's called Wisley Vanilla.

Glamm - I bet your wooden tubs will look fabulous all planted up and welcoming people to your front door. I bet your DS2 adored your open top LandRover! When our two were toddlers we had a soft top car, which they loved - until I realised they were posting their toy cars out of the back to see if they could keep up with the real car!! I hope you enjoyed your lunch out.

Plant - did you get your geraniums today? Your poor DD will be tired on Monday. Does she have to get up very early for work? Are they thinking of buying a share in the house in Normandy? Scary when you think about how our children travelled in the car in those days. On long journeys we used to make up beds for them (plus large Labrador) in the back of the estate and travel through the night.

Today I have - done some ironing, planted the tomatoes, potted on 10 tomato plants for DS2, mown the lawn and trimmed the edges, repotted several large banana plants (with OH) potted up a big pot with a Fuchsia and trailing Lobelia, planted a couple of herbs, and a few other jobs, plus had lunch in the garden and enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening before going in to get dinner. I'm a bit tired now!!

Phew Daisy you must be tired after all that 😁👍

I still look at GS as a little boy it’s hard to think of them as a young men isn’t it
, I’m pleased he still comes and treats this as his home still though ,
He could have gone home to have a shower and change but he chose to come here and spend some time with us before he went out .

When you think about when our children were small we would ride with them on our knee in the front no seat belts ,
My goodness we would be locked up these days doing anything like that ,
Or they would kneel on the back seat looking out the back window .

Ihave been to bed but had to get back up , the cough is lingering and always seems to act up at night more .
I am having a hot drink see if that will help

Sun is shining. Car boot sales are starting up in our area again.
Hubby and his brother went about an hour ago. They both went with smiles on their faces.
Hubby got a list of what he wants/needs.

Sounds like everyone had good garden centre days yesterday.

After we got home from Wakefield yesterday, hubby went to the bungalow to start putting some new fencing up for them.
I went down later after i had put the shopping away. We didn't come home till 6ish.
They have added some things to hubby's car boot list.

Oma, you are right about you say about having the children on our knee when in the car.
Certainly would not be allowed today.
When you have a cough, i think it always seems worse at night.

                                Have a good day ladies.
