Very exciting Nan2. I dusted and hoovered the living room and hallway, cut some lilac to go in a jug in the living room, and hung out some washing.
I have ordered some prints from our holiday photos to go on a picture shelf in the dining room. That was the most exciting thing so far!
It's cool and drizzly and we have the heating on. OH watching snooker on TV

Oma - I’ve just told my OH about your MIL’s comments at Clare’s baby shower. He roared with laughter, especially about the cheap pens. 🤣

Plant - it sounds as though we should mix our garden soil together. Ours is now soaking wet, but if th sun comes out it will be bone dry and rock hard.

Gem - enjoy your quiz tonight.

i’ve Washed the bedding but don’t know if it will dry outside - it’s brightened up a bit, so fingers crossed. I’ve done the dog food - I swear Eva is better fed than us, although I don’t think I’d enjoy goat, wild boar, ox and mixed offal. 😁😁

I’ve gone off the idea of ironing though!

More boxes emptied, phew! My bedroom liveable, main bathroom done and kitchen and living room getting there! I'm also starting a box for the charity shop of thing I know I'll never need again. Next door came round with a card and a bottle of wine and the other side let us use their drive when the removal van was there. They are also very friendly. Makes such a change from where I was before!

Plant, I have had a look out of my bedroom window, but not seen any little ones yet!

Surprise visit from doggo this afternoon ! Was aware of a large shape heading past the kitchen door followed by DD. He sniffed everywhere, into all the rooms even managed upstairs which scared me a little as the stairs are quite steep, but he was fine. Started barking in a corner and we realised it was at OH's ashes which are in a container on the hearth!

GS coming for tea after cricket practice tomorrow!

Hope everyone is well. Take care xx

WeeGranny - good neighbours are a blessing! I'm sure doggo will be glad to have you closer as well as the family, but how strange that he barked at your OH's ashes. It sounds as though you are already reasonably well unpacked. Don't overdo it - find time to sit in the garden and enjoy the sun (when it re-appears). I think your GS is going to become a regular visitor, like Oma's GS1. You may need a bigger fridge!

Nanto - it brightened up here briefly this afternoon - for about an hour! I think rain is due tomorrow though. I've got a load of towels waiting, and all Eva's blankets and bedding.

Gem - does the lilac have a nice perfume? We took out lilac bush out - it had got very straggly and had no scent at all.

Oma - at least you know what to get MIL for her birthday or Christmas - a pen! You know how to live it up on a Bank Holiday - washing your new tea towels!

I was glad I'd put a rice pudding in the oven this afternoon - it took the chill off the kitchen! I did cheese and ham toasties for lunch and we weren't very hungry, so I did salmon steaks with a load of veggies.

Tomorrow I'm going over to spend the morning with GD1 - more knitting. I'm looking forward to seeing her.

WG at least you know OH has moved with you if dog was having a doggie chat with him 😁

A week or two everything will be unpacked and ship shape , on the plus side too you now have a strong GS near hand to do the heavy stuff like putting stuff in the loft 👍

Daisy we had home made rice pudding on Saturday , ages since we have made it , really enjoyed it .

Im like Gem love Salmon so two lovely meals 😁

Lizzie hasn’t been on today hope she’s ok .

I can’t sleep I’m tired but can’t settle so having a hot drink see if that will help .

Good morning, my head was annoying me yesterday so I didn't get round to posting. I went to do the coffee, usually 2 or 3 ladies there, they were there but the room was also being used to label the monthly leaflets, so many volunteers help, which is a good thing, the bad thing was all the noises in my head!!

I just read that I was missed Oma! I was here but not 100%. I am still tired from the flu, I hear that from so many that have had it.

I have booked my trip to the UK and it could easily be the week that GD2 has her musical for leaving the school. I am trying to find out but as the schools are closed I am not having much luck. DS1 doesn't know the dates either so I will have to wait. They are enjoying their holiday and will be home on Friday.

WG, I am pleased you are getting unpacked and settling in, it will be nice to have nice neighbours.

It was a lovely day yesterday, only chilly in the wind, it was warm out on the balcony.

Nanto, it must be 14 years ago that I last saw my brother. Make it 15, they were living in France at the time and I went to stay with them. I am looking forward to seeing them though. There is only 18 months between us so we grew up together, my eldest brother is 10 years older than me and my sister was 6 years older.

I am going to the gym, I will catch up on the posts later on.

                    Daisy,have a lovely morning with GD1.

Lizzie, thats a long time without seeing your brother.

Good morning everyone. It's still dull here, but a bit warmer.

I'm off to spend the morning with my GD1. Ladies who knit - keep your fingers crossed for us - we're doing purl this morning. I'm sure GD1 will be fine, I'm not so sure about me though!!

                      Chat later.

                        Good morning to all.
All this talk of rice pudding is making me want to make one!

                        Beautiful swans Nan2.
WG, lovely neighbours and family nearby, I think think this is just the right home for you

You and your brother will have a lot to talk about Lizzie!

Daisy, the lilac does have a nice scent. I bring some in this time of year as it looks so beautiful in a vase or jug.

Library for me this morning and GS from school this afternoon. I presume I will be taking him to martial arts class. Sainsbury's delivery due between 4 and 5. I may have left for the MA class but OH will be in.

                        Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning everyone from a rather dull Wirral the sun is trying very hard to break through so fingers crossed.

Daisy my knitting experience at a meeting I went to was a case of "knit one drop one" I could just not get into it so gave it up as a lost cause and bought matinee coats for the babies at the New Born Appeal at Liverpool Womens by the time I had knitted something the baby would be ready for school.

WG take it easy unpacking I bet you have found things you had forgotten about I know I did when we moved from the family house years ago

This week-end has been quiet just a few visitors yesterday DD brought me a beautiful bunch of flowers to celebrate my Johns Birthday it is also my GGSs birthday on the same day I decided not to go to the party his mummy & daddy did for him as things where just still a bit raw for me and tears where never far away all day.

Oma can you tell me what paint I can buy for skirting & doors in my bedroom I need something non drip and gloss white I am thinking of doing the walls pale lemon in Dulux one coat I'm not changing the feature wall as I love the pattern did you tell me that there is a paint which doesn't discolour.

I've pulled out all my suitcases to find my holiday stuff and am over the next few days going to wash all my dresses and t-shirts as its only 6 weeks before DD & I go away for our much cancelled holiday I found dresses I had forgotten about I've just got to hope everything still fits

My next door neighbour Jim was 90 years young last Thursday his niece told me on Friday so it was a quick dash to the card shop & Asda for a Birthday Cake and a couple of cans of beer for him he does keep things private bless him.

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies and those not too well rest and put your feet up (Oma are you listening)

                            xx glamma xx

You my friends are busy, busy, busy, I on the other hand have been very lazy. I am popping to a farm shop today to top up my veggies.

WG, your move sounds just right for you and your GS is loving having you so close. Strange about doggo barking at your OH’s ashes. Your neighbours sound very helpful and friendly.

Oma, hope the radiator arrives okay. B will soon have it all finished.

Glamm, love the pics of your GGS on Facebook, he looks a dear little boy.

Lizzie, pleased you have your holiday booked to the UK. You will have a lot to talk about.

Glamm I buy this one but any water based gloss will stay white , it’s oil based that goes yellow .
If you can wash the brushes in water then it’s none yellowing .
Ronseal do a good one but it’s more expensive
