Good morning everyone, I have been for a walk and heard the cuckoo for the first time this year!

Daisy, Eva looks very relaxed, I love the patio slabs.xx

I was chatting to my youngest brother yesterday, they have moved houses, I am planning a few days visiting them in June, not with my car though, he will meet me from the boat so I won't need a car with me.

        Morning Nanto/ladies

it’s damp here Nanto rained all night

I’m off with DD and MIL at lunch time to Clare’s baby shower , it’s at a big hotel in Darlington
Its on from 1-6 I won’t be staying that long , I’m not up to it and neither is MIL plus I will be on edge with her all the time in case she insults someone 🙄 DD said don’t worry Mam I will keep Nana in check 😂

        How is everyone today ?

Lizzie my BIL had a hole in his ear between his ear canal and his Brain after a serious motor bike crash ,
He could even hear his eyeballs move and everything echoed, he had a big operation had to go through his skull ,
He is deaf in that ear now but at least he doesn’t have the noise.

Daisy I think Eva has claimed that patio sofa as her own 😁 she looks very comfy ,
Move over Eva I will come and cuddle with you 😂😂😂

Lizzie our posts crossed , a lovely treat to look forward too , hope the weather is good then for the crossing xx

          Good morning to all.
          Dull damp and cool here.

Eva looks very relaxed there Daisy!

Lizzie, I'm sure you will be looking forward to visiting your brother.

Oma, I hope you have a lovely baby shower. As you say, you can just stay as long as you like. I hope MIL behaves! Ours is in 2 weeks time

GS2 loved his party as did his little guests. Lots of rabbit and guinea pig cuddling, baby animal feeding and running about and climbing in the play area. GS played house with a little girl called Annabel from his class for a long time. He kept telling her he was going out to feed the chickens and one time 'Going to see my Grandma' He came to the bench I was sitting on, gave me a cuddle then went back to the play house shouting 'I'm home'. Hopefully a good sign he will visit me in my old age

One of my work friends is celebrating her 60th birthday with garden party at home today. Sadly the weather is not obliging. I have no idea what to wear, as most of the things I planed to wear are not warm enough or weatherproof!

We are going there for an hour or two this afternoon, then this evening going to see friends J and JT for a catch up. They go over to Canada to see JT's son and family next week so we need catch up between our holidays and theirs. I usually see JT at aquaerobics but didn't feel up to it this week.

I hope your Sunday is a good one.

Good Sunday morning everyone. We've got rain forecast, but so far it's dry but overcast. The garden needs a good downpour, but it would be better coming overnight!

Oma - Eva says you're welcome to share "her" sofa anytime! I do hope Clare's baby shower goes well. Not long now until the baby arrives. Don't overdo it yourself. It's surprising how quickly you can go from "fine" to "I'm exhausted", isn't it. xx

Lizzie - thank you. We're pleased with the patio, even though it was a work-up getting there! Does your youngest brother live in the UK? It's always a joy to hear the first cuckoo, even though they are horrible, lazy selfish birds, squatting in other birds' nests.

Nanto - I hope your OH gets his jobs done. Your graphic has reminded me I need to plant some sunflower seeds. I keep forgetting them.

            Have a good day, ladies.

              Gem - our posts crossed.

I'm glad GS2 enjoyed his party. It sounds a lovely outing with all the furry friends to cuddle and baby animals to feed. I'm sure all your grand children will visit you in your old age.

What a pity the weather doesn't sound great for your friend's 60th. It's difficult to know what to wear in situations like that - layers, perhaps?

You've got a busy social day with the party and visiting J and JT this evening.

Have a lovely (dry!) day. xx

What a lot to catch up with today. I posted a New Home for WG but I can’t see it anywhere, has anyone?

Gemin, that sounds like a lovely party for GS1 and his friends. Have a nice time with your friends.

Daisy Eva looks very comfortable, she says “thank you for my new bed”. Sage gets used a lot by my GD2 when she is home and it is very hardy in my planter. Chives do quite well.

Lizzie, could it be one of the drugs you are taking that is causing the problem with your hearing.

Not sure what my day will be, I ought to do some gardening.

                  All our posts are crossing!

You did mention that Oma about your BIL, I am experimenting at the moment, when I am walking I have music through my pods and no bother with sounds, so, I am walking round with one pod in and listening to Spotify. I am having a meal out for my birthday in 2 weeks time and I really would like to enjoy having the family there with me instead of telling them to mind their voices. I hope the baby shower goes well and MIL is on her best behaviour!

Daisy, my brother lives near York so handy for the boat to Hull.

Gem, you would all enjoy the party yesterday, I hope the weather stays good for today, it is much better here then it has been.

Plant, the only tablet I take is for my thyroid, when I had a scan 2 years ago they told me there was damage so I will have to see what he has to say this time.

Back from the Baby shower ,
                          Clare is blooming ,
MIL was warned before we went in not to say anything nasty but she complained about everything ,
It was a afternoon tea she ate one small sandwich and wouldn’t touch anything else ,
Said wasn’t her idea of a meal even though we told her what it would be ,

She kept complaining she couldn’t hear when we had little quizzes even though she was sitting next to the girl in charge ,
Then she didn’t like the cheap pens , yes MIL they going to have gold plated ones for a quiz 🙄
The tea was cold the water was warm ,
Tea was fine water was iced .

She was like a child going there asking every 5 minutes if we were there yet .

It was hard work keeping her from trying to be centre of attention and showing off

DD took her outside for a cigarette to give me a rest

                          I am exhausted it’s been a long afternoon .

Oma, that would be so tiring, it is a wonder she doesn't tire herself out with complaining all the time!!!

I had a bike ride this afternoon, never keen on a Sunday as it can be busy, it wasn't too bad, a lot of people are on holiday so that could be it. I came home and got my holiday to the UK booked!!! The last week of June, it suits us all as brother and wife have to be home from Spain, DS1 is taking me to the boat etc, all is booked so I can relax. In-between all my planning I managed to book a box from the Lidl, I try to get one a week then it lasts me.

DS1 phoned, they are enjoying the holiday, he said there was a bad accident near Berlin and the road was closed so they had to take alternative roads, all B roads, by the time they were almost at Gdansk it was dark and they were driving through the dark forest!!

Good Evening Grannies! Well I'm in and you can now see some bits of floor rather than piles of boxes. I have no idea where all the stuff came from, nor indeed where it's all going to fit in! Methinks, I'll be having another clear out before long. But I am loving the house and garden. Thank you all for your lovely messages on another thread.
The move went very well, no problems and I have to say the 4 movers didn't stop. The only problem when we got here was that my dining table couldn't fit through the door to the room I was going to use as my dining room. But it is now in the dining end of the kitchen and looks fine.
My first night in the house was Friday and DGS came and stayed with me. He's been round this afternoon with his GF! Where have the years gone? I think he's planning on coming round quite regularly as he plays cricket on the Rec just across the road, so he'll be training and competing. It'll be lovely to have family so close.
Hand still in splint but much easier now and nose healing fine. The head scan showed that the only degeneration was age related, so that's good to know!!!!!!
Oma, I had forgotten that I have panelling in my front room and I have to say I like it!
Will catch up with all your news later, but hope everyone is well xx
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Its been a miserable day today weatherwise.

Lizzie, good that your holiday is sorted.I will be lovely i bet,to see your brother.
When did you last see him?

WG, i think we've all been wondering how the move went.
Its good that you love the house and garden.
How lovely for GS to come and stay with you on your first night in the house.
Pleased to hear your hand and nose are healing, and that there is no lasting damage to your head.
