We had a nice chat over a cuppa with our friends J and M when we dropped off their presents.
We called Into Aldi for a few things and it was remarkably quiet. We knew by the number of cars in the car park.
I'm doing a bit more wrapping while watching TV tonight.

The busy day continued until after lunch when I sat down for 5 minutes - and woke up over an hour later!!

I've done some more on-line shopping. It's so hard to find stocking fillers for 18 year old GS1!! I got a couple of books for someone I'd forgotten. I hadn't forgotten the person - just that I hadn't got the present!

I've made up a huge bowl of fruit with lots of oranges etc in and it smells lovely. Do oranges equal Christmas for anyone else?

OH put the tree up but yet again we ran out of time to decorate it. Definitely a job for tomorrow! Plus tidying up the spare room and making up the bed for DS1 and DIL. The boys' beds are already made up - I just need to wave the yellow fluffy thing and the sucky up thing round.

The GDs have broken up from school today - both looking tired. It's been a long term for them both in new schools.

WeeGranny - you're in my thoughts. xx

Gem - I think a lot of places will be quieter than expected. I hope you get the wrapping done.

Nanto - it sounds as though GD1 is going to be busy over Christmas. I hope she's not getting too tired. xx

          Good morning everyone.

Daisy, you are on a roll getting everything done

GS1 has his martial arts grading today for his yellow belt. He was so keen to do this. I presumed he wouldn't be able to due to his hand (Punching punchbags will probably be involved) DD thinks he can, so fingers crossed.
Our hairdresser is coming at 9, and our friends C and P are coming round this afternoon.

          Happy Saturday everyone.

The fog from last night has cleared.

            Gem, fingers crossed GS1.
Have a good afternoon with Cand P.

We are out and about today.
Calling at the farm shop first, then to the garden centre.
We will dine at the garden centre.Last port of call will be Asda.

Daisy, GD1 hasn't complained about tiredness.

I'm glad your GD has escaped the tiredness Nan2. I noticed my GD was wearing dungarees when I saw her on Thursday. 11 weeks pregnant

Good morning, foggy and drizzly here this morning, I have just read we could be in lock down again next week, there goes my haircut again! We shall have to wait and see what happens. GD1 and her best friend were both tested positive last week, they were invited to a party , they had to have a test and it was positive, they are both fine though. GD2 will have an extra weeks holiday, they hope to stop it spreading by doing that.

Daisy, you are well organised for Christmas!

I went to the fysio, all the muscles in my shoulder and back are stiff, (frozen), I have exercises to do then have to go on Wednesday for dry needling. If it is all allowed that is.

B is still unwell the cold is subsiding slightly but the cough is giving him trouble .
Thing is every time he gets a cold the cough goes on for months , he's feeling very sorry for himself bless him .

Im out with DD and Storm for lunch , its a Doggy Christmas party , we get a cream tea and Dogs get theirs then there is a Santa giving Doggie gifts out .

Oma, I felt all the muscles last night in bed! It depends which position I am in for my shoulder, oh to be young again!!!!

I can understand B feeling sorry for himself, I hope he is soon feeling better.

I hope you and the dogs enjoy the Christmas lunch.

                      Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Oma - poor B. Does he find inhaling something Obas oil helps with his cough. Enjoy your doggy Christmas party. I'm just imagining what it might be like if they have a Christmas tree (think little boy doggies, doing what little boy doggies do! ) I'm sure you don't get chance for you and DD to go somewhere together all that often, but lovely when you do. x

Lizzie, I do hope you don't get locked down again. I'm glad your GD isn't ill even though she tested positive.

Gem - good luck to your GS1 for his grading. He'll be disappointed if he misses that especially after missing things at school as well. Poor lad. Both my gDs did their yellow belt at karate last week, and were overjoyed to get it. They both love it and take it very seriously. GD2 is in the youngest group and the instructor calls them his Little Dragons.

Nanto - I'm pleased your GD1 is feeling the tiredness. I bet she's on her feet all day at work.

Poor B I hope he feels better soon. Coughs are draining.

I really feel for you Lizzie, I hope you get the dry needling. I'm glad your GD is OK despite her positive test.

Daisy, GS thought his grading was off due to possibly testing positive after his pcr test. Test was thankfully negative so he was looking forward to it again, then the hand in car door incident!

OH's and my hair is trimmed now, all done until February.
Our friends are not coming until this afternoon, so I will finish the wrapping and make sure the rooms are ready for GD and DS2 coming to stay the night tomorrow. First job to marzipan the cake, so it can dry out for a couple of days before I ice it.
Our cat hasn't been himself for a day or so, so if no improvement after the weekend we will be ringing the vet.

A bittersweet day here. We should have been celebrating our Golden Wedding. However, I have fizz in the fridge and we shall raise a glass to OH tonight.

Not so foggy today, but still grey and miserable.

Picked my DB up from Stansted. He's here until Christmas Eve. SiL not feeling great, so she's not here.

We were planning to go out tonight, but I think we're going to cancel and get a take away from them instead. It's a favourite Turkish restaurant and always busy, so probably not the best place to go. We're trying not to go out unless we have to, but after Thursday I don't really care what happens.

Sat up into the we sma' hours, so I'm the only one moving at the moment! There's snoring coming from the other bedrooms!!!

Hope all those feeling unwell soon recover and everyone has a good day. Take care xx
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Oh WG, I knew that date was coming up but not when.
I hope you can raise that glass and remember the many wonderful happy years of your marriage, despite the sadness. Sending love to you xxxxxxxx

I think it is time I inspected my presents and checked if I have enough wrapping paper or bags. Might get a bit more time on the table runner. Very late getting going this morning. My DD is feeding the five thousand again. I popped in and found her Dil was there with her two (GS1) gone for his booster jab. Also GD1, her husband and baby H.

I think you were right to celebrate your marriage WG and to toast your OH. Bitter sweet day. Sorry to hear your Sil is not feeling well enough to make the journey to join you for Christmas. I think you are wise to get a take-away, never had Turkish food.

Enjoy your doggy party Oma. So sorry to hear B now has a nasty cough, it is so tiring.

Well done to the GC who are doing their grading.

Plant I thought we had plenty of wrapping paper and gift bags, as we inherited all my mum's when we emptied the house. I was wrong as I had to go out yesterday and buy another roll!
