According to the forecast,it will be a bit warmer on tuesday.
Oma, i haven't seen the damage to the caravan park.

We are out for a meal this afternoon.
A treat for those who helped out at the bungalow.

      Good morning everyone.
      I hope are well today.

Nan 2, you and OH deserve that lunch out.
WG, I'm glad your son arrived safely.

A good covering of snow here. GS1 had been out in it before I woke up. In his pyjamas. I hope he wore his coat ๐Ÿ˜ฎ We had a fun time with him last night. Played a few rounds of Uno and watched The Wheel together.
OH are going to friends J and M for lunch today. GS will be picked up before we leave.

      Keep warm ladies.

Good morning, pouring with rain here. I have just been to the supermarket in the village, almost met my neighbour, from a distance he told me they both have covid! His partner is really ill but he feels fine so the stupid fool goes shopping and uses the lift etc!!!!

Gem, your GS would enjoy the snow, even in his PJ's!

Nanto, I hope you enjoy the meal.

WG, your son will be settled in now, when do you go to Suffolk?

Oma, I did see those photo's, dreadful!

Daisy, good luck with the painting.

Nanto a nice treat for you then ,

Lizzie what was he thinking about going out and using the lift silly man, people still donโ€™t think do they .

Mask wearing in shops etc from next week , it should be now not next week , do they think it gives a weeks notice before it spreads although we never stopped wearing a mask .

Oma, what annoys me is, he is the one to be the first to complain if there is anything to complain about, then he does this! He has been going out a few times a day to take his dog out!!!

Good morning. It's bright and sunny here and we've had some interesting clouds, but it's still bitterly cold. I hope all those with snow don't get any more (although Gem's GS1 probably would like lots more!)

Oma - it does seem silly that any change in restrictions are 'next week'. But I suppose it takes a few days for everyone to get organised with masks etc.

WG - I meant to say last night, your DS got home just in time, but ยฃ15 for an hour's parking is daylight robbery! Will he go to Suffolk with you or stay at home to visit his dad? You must be so glad he made it before further restrictions are brought in.

Lizzie - your neighbour should be ashamed of himself. I'm quite sure there are lovely kind people in your flats who would safely do some shopping for him and put it outside their door.

Gem - I bet GS was so excited to see the snow, and you have to make the most of it, don't you! At least he didn't drag you out to play snowballs with him. Enjoy your lunch with your friends.

I'm going to start my painting today, but need to get a load of washing in first. I bet Constable didn't have to do a load of whites before he started on the Hay Wain! That's my excuse anyway!

Nanto - enjoy your meal this afternoon - you certainly worked hard for it. xx

I hope you are all keeping warm, we have a quieter day today, wind has dropped and we have watery sunshine. No plans for today, I think baby H and her mum are popping in today.

Nanto, enjoy your lunch, justly deserved.

Gemini, GS couldnโ€™t resist the snow, at least he didnโ€™t wake you up . Enjoy your lunch with your friends.

Daisy, are you going to start your commission?

Lizzie, I canโ€™t believe what your neighbour is doing, keep well away from him. Just because he doesnโ€™t feel too bad doesnโ€™t mean he canโ€™t give it to someone else.

I have been invited (with the oldies from the village) to a Christmas Party at the local secondary school next month. I am wondering if I should cancel as we will be in quite close contact with the youngsters, they entertain us and serve our food. I went last year and met several old friends. As that age group are not vaccinated sand potential spreaders of the virus I think I shouldnโ€™t go. I will ring the lady who is taking names and ask her if she has had cancellations.

Plant, my 12 year old GD has had her vaccine, so that age group is eligible. They all wear masks at her school as well. A good idea to check with the organiser to put your mind at rest though.
                  What an irresponsible man Lizzie.
WG, York parking is astronomical but even they don't charge ยฃ15 an hour!
Like you Oma we have never stopped wearing ,masks, likewise with our friends and family. So many are not wearing masks though, so I am glad of the rule change.
                  Happy painting day Daisy

GS1 is the one who never sleeps beyond 5.30. Sleepovers with him when he was younger were a trial, as I had to get up with him!
Now he knows not to disturb the grown ups unless in an emergency . He will amuse himself in his room, or go downstairs (Or even out into the snow!!)

Morning ladies! Bright sunny but bitterly cold day here, but at least the wind has dropped!

Looking out of kitchen window this morning I realised the washing, which I'd hung out yesterday morning, was missing from the line. All that was left was a tea towel. Searched all round the house, but no sign of it. Finally found it in tumble dryer! DS must have taken it off the line and put it in there!

DS got back just in time. before all this lockdown etc begins again. There were only two of us wearing masks on the course yesterday. Luckily we were well spaced out, but it was worrying to see so few people, of all ages, not wearing them. I'm sure next door's neighbour's live in care was planning to go back to SA soon, I just hope she's not stuck here again like she was last year. I have no idea what our Christmas will be like this year......I do have a turkey and ham ordered, so DS and I should be alright food wise!

Off to Suffolk tomorrow. DS will take on his Dad's visiting. He's going to pop in and see him this afternoon, OH doesn't know he's back home, so it'll be a nice ( hopefully) surprise for him.

Enjoy your day ladies, those who are being treated to lunch, those who are indulging in hobbies and those who are just keeping warm and cosy! xx

Brrr ๐Ÿฅถ It's certainly very cold out there again today but thankfully the winds have eased .
I hope no one had any sort of storm damage to their property and gardens. We no longer live at the top of an extremely steep hill it's more sheltered here and the bungalows are nestled in a little 'hollow' so we don't experience so much wind . The most we had to deal with was two pots had blown over .

Yesterday was a lovely day . DD SIL and two youngest GS's came to visit. The oldest GS (aged10) spent a good 5 mins or so cuddling up to me on the sofa. Who needs Christmas presents when you get cuddles off GC

There is a lot of huffing and puffing on social media about having to wear face masks again claiming that it interfears with their human rights. What a load of utter rubbish!
Myself and OH never stopped wearing them when we were in shops and on public transport. We did it out of consideration for anyone next to us Although we have been vaccinated we don't know if we are carrying the virus and we could be next to someone who has extreme health problems .
I will continue to carry on wearing them until all fear and risk from this horrible pandemic is over and if that is for the foreseeable future so be it.

Cooking chicken today, that's the last roast chicken meal we will have now until Christmas.

We've not succumbed to putting up Christmas decorations yet but OH did get the Christmas coffee mugs out from the back of the cupboard!

                      Have a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Have a lovely time in Suffolk WG.

We had a lovely afternoon at our friends house. We knew it wouldn't be Sunday roast as J is vegetarian. She cooked a really tasty veggie lasagne with salad and garlic bread, and M made apple and blueberry crumble with custard. They gave us our Christmas presents ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I haven't finished my shopping yet and certainly haven't wrapped anything. We will drop ours in to them nearer the time!

                          Very very cold out.

Nanto - that's quite a gathering, and you all look as though you're enjoying the meal. Was that cardi one of those you bought recently? I love that colour.

Gem, pleased to read you had a good lunch as well - it all sounds delicious. As you might guess, I haven't started on buying presents yet, although I have asked various members of the family for ideas. I'll have to do cards to go abroad in the next few days - posting dates come round so quickly - Canada and USA aren't until the 13th, France not until the 18th but there's one for the 4th! And I don't really trust some of the so-called last dates. Last year I posted our UK cards quite early and they didn't arrive until after Christmas!

Oma - as you can guess, it's a bit early for me to put decorations up as well. I have done something for Christmas though. I decided to buy two Sainsbury's undecorated fruit cakes to save making them, and I ordered two birthday cards online - one for GD2 - for the 27th Dec - and one for my Goddaughter - for the 28th. It's hopeless trying to find good birthday cards at this time of year, but I found in lockdown last year that ordering them online and personalising them worked well. I just have to remember to post my Goddaughter's before Christmas.

WeeGranny - as I was reading about your disappearing washing I wondered if you had any goats roaming round!! Glad it was your DS being helpful. Enjoy your few days in Suffolk. Lots of warm layers - keep cosy. Are you driving there? Safe journey and enjoy the change of scene and break. xx

Mimi - how lovely to have such a fantastic cuddle from your 10 year old GS. You're right - it's worth more than all the presents under the tree. You must be feeling all sorts of benefits from living in a more sheltered place. We notice the next village to us is always more windy, but we get more mist, being in a bit of a hollow.

Plant - I hope it is safe enough to go to the secondary school's Christmas Party. Certainly a lot of teenagers have had at least one jab, and both my GS2's and my GD1's schools have been encouraging pupils to wear masks, certainly in communal areas. But all sorts of things could change in the next few days, and the main thing is to stay safe.
