Just done the worst job cleaning the cooker hood and replacing the filter ,
I really hate that job it’s awkward to get clean and hate the greasy filter paper .
Not many cleaning jobs I dislike but this job is top of the list by far .
Got up this morning to all the decorations and although they look nice I just know given a week or even less I will be counting the days down till New Year’s Day when we usually take them down againIm not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning ladies.
I'm sorry you had bad night Nan2. Mine wasn't too bad. They vary from fine, just waking for the loo once or twice, to awake almost all night, and all stages in between those two. To go to bed and sleep all night would be a blessing wouldn't it?
It must be so bright and Christmassy in your house Oma Very cheering for the dark days. I can see that by New Years you would be sick of them though!
I'm not sure when ours will go up, but I'm hoping to put mums tree up in her room when I visit on Thursday.
I have no firm plans today.
I have the minutes to amend and send out for Thursday's meeting. I have the quiz tonight but it's not my turn to set it.
I think I will write Christmas cards today, and email the solicitor handling mum's house sale to see if there is any news on dates.
Still cold here with ice and a covering of snow, but hopefully no more will fall.
Keep warm and safe everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good Monday morning everyone. Bright, cold and frosty here. Please can I opt out of winter? The cold, dry weather makes me feel chesty and tired.
Nanto - I'm sorry you had a bad night. It wipes you out for the following day, doesn't it. I bet the birds had a feast.
Oma - it sounds as though your winter wonderland up there is a bit of a nightmare. Stay safe and warm. I'm usually fed up with Christmas decs within 3 days of putting them up, so I can imagine how you feel. Cooker hoods are a mixed blessing, aren't they! I'd much rather just open windows if I can, and I hate the noise they make.
Gem - hopefully everything's going ahead with the sale of your mum's house, but chasing the solicitor is a good idea to keep them working on things.
OH is keen to do some jobs in the garden today, but it's too cold for me. Tomorrow's forecast is better. I hope!

Bowls for me this afternoon, we had snow yesterday but I am sure the roads to the village hall will be fine. Couldn’t believe it when I opened the back door after dark and saw the white stuff.
It is good to wake the solicitors up Gemini, it brings your file to the top of the pile. I am sure your mum will love her tree.
Daisy, an escape to warmer climes this time of the year would be great, my old bones don’t like it.
Saw all the GGC yesterday, they were their usual lovely selves. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Cold frosty morning here! But the sun is shining which always makes me feel better.
Going to pop in and see OH before I head to Suffolk. He doesn't know I'm going but DC will visit while I'm away.
Got my proper camera charging, so hopefully I'll can get some nice photos while I'm down there. Also got some craft some to take with me and a couple of books. Looking forward to it, but also feel that maybe I shouldn't be going. But DC have insisted that I need a break, so I shall do my best to relax and enjoy it.
Hope everyone has a good day. Speak when I get back. Keep warm ladies xxBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

Good morning, WG relax and enjoy yourself with some "you time".xxx
I went to the gym, early, well, in the middle of the night it felt like!! They are having to close at 5pm so opened early. Then I went to do the coffee, a few ladies with their knitting. Now to the pool and after that I will take a rest!
DS1 came yesterday with GD2, it is the first time he has driven since he broke his shoulder socket and he coped fine for a short drive. I have asked if they want to come here for a meal at Christmas so will hear soon if they are coming, I told him no special 3 course meal so GD2 said "wraps"!
I am still feeling very annoyed at the neighbour, (ex-friend), I have spoken to a few people about him going out with covid, even if he hadn't got it and his partner had he should have isolated!
Good luck on the call with the solicitor Gem.
We had a heavy thunderstorm last night, just as I went to bed, at first I thought it was the fireworks.
Oma, well done with cleaning the hood, I hope it soon thaws out for you all up north!
Nan2, I saw the photo's, it looked like a good meal you all had.

Thanks Nan2. I emailed her, and if no response in a couple of days I will phone.
I have had a busy day whilst not setting foot outside!
Quite a bit of paperwork, phone calls and emails done.
I made mushroom soup this morning and this afternoon retired to the dining room to write Christmas cards. I have left the family ones for another day. Apart from those I have written all my cards and all my mums! I have left envelope addressing to another day too. I try to get them into the post during the first week of December if possible.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good evening all.
First and foremost thanks admin for the email.
We went to Tesco Express this morning . As we are still finding our way around the back streets around here we were delighted to discover a short cut to the main roads so some shops are a lot closer than we previously thought. We managed to buy 3 little Christmas trees that will go on the graves later in December. Now these are very small trees , in fact they are sitting on the kitchen window . They were only £3 each so you can imagine how small they are. We also treated ourselves to a jam doughnut. It has to be well over 10 years since I had a doughnut, mind you I am deeply regretting it now as I have indigestion!
I haven't started writing any Christmas cards yet, oh no hang on I did write out DD and SIL's and GS's on Saturday so that they could take them back home with them. It all saves the cost of postage ( Thrift being my middle name) I do need to make a start on the rest of them I suppose, perhaps tomorrow.
Have a warm and cosy evening everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
