Lovely sunny morning, not sure if it is set to continue. I didn’t wake up until 9.30, this cold is taking a long time to go and I felt quite poorly again when I went to bed so I hope the good sleep has done me good. I am hoping to play bowls this afternoon and tomorrow morning/afternoon I am going to London with my N.T. Group to watch an Old Time Music Hall. I need to be on top form for that.

WG your OH was having a better day answering those questions, he knows what he wants for his care, I hope it all goes smoothly for you both. Is your DD staying in the hotel business,I seem to have missed the news that she is leaving her job.

Glamm, Visits from DGC certainly raise the spirits, I hope your computer can be sorted, my GS’s are always sorting me out. Glamm, it doesn’t sound as if you are having a cooking free Christmas Day if you are cooking the meats and making the first course. I usually now only make Blinis with smoked salmon for Christmas morning, we don’t have a starter, an overnight salad for Christmas evening, mince pies and Christmas pudding, which nobody wants as they are so full.

Gemini, have a lovely visit from your DD3 and OH, I am not a lover of fish and chips but those from your local chippy must be good.

Nanto, I am also a Lemon Drizzle cake lover so send some my way. M&S do a good one but home-made is always better.

Daisy, busy day for you, have a lovely walk and take care of that arm.

Oma, you are the only person I know who goes out shopping for food and comes back with a bra and a duvet. Whatever you do, don’t change.

Such a shock for the family and friends when someone just dies in their sleep unexpectedly.

Felt a bit under the weather this morning and my arm aches. Probably just a reaction to the jab, but strange because I didn't have any after effects with the first two. Stayed in my PJ's until I had to get ready to go to care home for telephone appointment with clinic. Seems his blood count is up, so they're stopping the daily injections but carrying on the tablets. Blood tests at hospital in 3 weeks when he'll be finished with the steroids and we'll see how it goes from there. Just as well we saw Social worker yesterday, today wasn't a particularly great day and I imagine his responses to the questions might have been completely different. However, he was dressed and sitting in his chair though he was complaining of being tired. Nurse told him he could go back to bed after lunch. He tucked into his lunch plus a couple of biscuits and a bottle of Coke beforehand!

Daisy, it was hard not answering the questions for him! A couple of times I had to rephrase them before he understood what had been asked.

Plant, DD isn't leaving her present company, she's been promoted to be a Director of something or other! She seems to be very happy working for this company and they pay her very well which is always a bonus!

Just had a bowl of home made lentil and carrot soup which was very tasty! I thought about my Mum as I was using a stick blender, she used to have a sieve which she put lentil soup through to smooth it. Good work out for the arms. I wonder what she'd have thought of me using a stick blender!

Off to sweep up some leaves before the green bin goes out tonight . Did some earlier in the week, but they're no sooner swept up than another lot come tumbling down!

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies xx

WG I felt a bit off and my arm ached for almost a week after my booster but I didnt have any trouble after my first two jabs ,

We seem to be clearing leaves every day at the minute as you say WG no sooner swept up andd they floating down again

Funeral over we didn't stay and stood at the back of the Crem it was packed out ,
she was a very popular lady , too many people there without masks , I didn't feel comfortable .
Paid our respects and came home .

Oma - I've heard of several people just lately passing away in their sleep with no obvious illness. One was a friend from college, and they haven't been able to identify a cause of death.

Home made lentil and carrot soup is just the thing for these chilly days, WeeGranny. I'm sorry it wasn't quite such a good day for your OH, but I'm sure he will be glad not to have the daily injections, at least for the time being.

Lizzie - I always seem to be driving straight into low winter sun, as well. It can be dazzling - take care. What did you and your GD bake?

Oma - I agree with Plant's comments about your shopping adventures!

Glamm - more tasty soup on the menu! I think it's nice that you still have some Christmas cooking duties, but not having to do it all will be lovely. You can relax and play with the children and their new toys. I hope GD understood about the traffic lights, bless her.

We had a lovely walk - quite mild and some sunshine and wonderful views. The organiser said it was easy walking with some gentle inclines. My friend who was struggling a bit with a bad back thinks he needs to redefine the meaning of those words! We were all glad to get back to the pub. The food was delicious! I had venison cottage pie with fantastic vegetables not overcooked! They had an uncarpeted area for dogs (and owners), and we were glad, as the rest of the pub was packed. We were just putting our orders in when a large crowd of born-again bikers arrived. I had taken Eva to the car for a drink and was so pleased that she walked past these huge grumbling motor bikes with no problem. There was a lovely gentle chocolate lab on the walk and we let her off lead a couple of times to play with him, and she loved that.

Off to get tea as OH has to go out at 6.30.

Daisy, pleased you all had a good walk and meal. GD1 made brownies then she helped me move very heavy club chairs etc, it was nice having her here.

Lizzie - I'm sure your GD enjoyed the baking session as much as you enjoyed having her there. She sounds a lovely, considerate girl, helping you to move the heavy chairs.

Lovely to spend time with your GD Lizzie.
That sounds a good day Daisy. I've been lured onto so called no hill walks too.
How sad about the lady Oma.

I had a lovely lunch with DD2 and we bought a few things in the shop in the village we both love.
A really happy and positive visit to my mum, and good evening with DD and SIL 3 and yummy fish and chips. A good day 😊

Daisy, GD1 moved the chairs as if they weren't heavy at all! Like I used to be able to!

I have been to the gym, will see what I do later, maybe a bike ride.

You have been to the gym Lizzie, and I am still in bed! I know there is an hours time difference, but still!

GD and GS2 from school this afternoon. I think we may go to Aldi this morning.

How the weeks fly, Friday already!
I hope anyone under the weather or worried starts to feel better soon.

Having said that it was quick to do as it wasn't really dirty , its more the Kitchen cupboard doors that get marks on ,

Oma, we only tend to go to the Christmas Market if we go with friends from out of town. Its too crowded and seems to have the same stalls each year. We may pop in for a quick look closer to Christmas though, to get in the Christmas mood!
I hope all goes well with B's appointment.
