Good morning, it is lovely and sunny here but cold with it. I have just had to hoover through, with the sun being low it shows up every speck of dust! Plus the rest!
I am going to the pool later, I had an appointment with the dietician at 3pm so would have had to hurry but I have just got a call, she is full of cold so can't get to the practise so it will be a a phone consultant at 3-15. I can go on the bike and be home in time.
Oma, I hope your aches and pains soon clear.
I want to go to the library, I have to take a parcel to the depot at 11am so will go straight to the library.
Gem, enjoy the quiz night.xx

I've spent a bit of time this morning catching up with everyone's news. The days seem to fly by so forgive me for not commenting. This week should be less hectic!
Talking about That Time of Year, on Friday evening GS1 took me and his mum to his office to watch the town's lights being switched on. We were glad we were there not in the crowd below - it was totally packed and hardly anyone wearing a mask. It was great to see where GS is working. This is their new office and can only be described as funky. It was more like a Disney experience with all the clever tech stuff they've got, plus a coffee shop and bar on the premises for use by staff and people hiring space for meetings etc. I also met his boss and his immediate manager - he's so lucky to be working with such lovely people.
Gem - I hope your sore throat is soon better.
Oma - great news about B. It's hard to believe it's 5 years. Don't be too hard on him over the finger marks on the cupboard doors! Take it easy if you're not feeling great. Do you use heat pads to ease your creaking joints? xx
Plant - I hope the doctor can sort out the bruising you're experiencing, and that you've now had your share of colds for this winter.
Nanto - when it's that cold, you don't feel like doing much do you. I certainly don't.

Been a bit on the chilly side here today! Had the wood burner on yesterday, but haven't got round to it today.
Like Plant I've spent most of the morning on the phone! Not to the doctor, but trying to get the POA sorted out. One lot want NI numbers, place of employment and something with your home address on it. OK, I can do that for myself no problem, but one DC is overseas, the other works all the hours God gave us! I've asked them both to send me copies of passports etc and hopefully that'll be acceptable in the branch. Another lot hadn't got all the pages of the POA, so I've had to resend them. They wanted to speak to OH....afraid not! Went into see OH earlier, forgot to take my Covid test result with me, so had to get one done there! It was actually quite pleasant sitting in the porch in the warmth and I switched off and relaxed! OH in bed not looking well. Seems they'd got him up and in his chair and were going to give him a shave when he started shaking and crumpled. So he was put back in bed after BP/ sugar levels taken. Something else that'll need to be kept an eye on. He said he was feeling exhausted, so I tucked him in, put out the big light and left. His eyes were shut before I was out the d
Popped into Dunelm on way home to get him a bedside light. There is a wall light, but he needs something near his bed. Quite a good selection in there and all reasonably priced.
It was dark by the time I came home and wasn't very pleased that I hadn't left a light on in the house! Don't like coming indoors in the dark! Anyway, heating on now and I'm off to get something to eat.
Plant, hope your appointment gets you sorted out! Daisy, welcome back...hope your week is less hectic! Oma, I started sleeping on one side of the bed and woke up on the other this morning. Looks as if I'd had a fight with the blankets as well! Enjoy your evening ladies xxBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

Daisy how lovely to see the lights in the comfort of a warm office and safer too .
Yes I have those microwave heat pads I use for my poor bones I’m like a padded bean bag all strapped to various joints
WG I never liked coming into a dark house when B was in Hospital
A bedside lamp will be better for him and safer just in case he tries to reach for the wall light and falls .
Red tape is a nightmare with these things , I hope you get it all sorted soon .
Gem how did the quiz go How’s the throat ? Xx
Plant my MIL is complaining of the bruising that’s coming out since she went on blood thinners .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning fellow grandmothers
We have to admit winter is here!
WG, what about a lamp on a timer for these winter late afternoons and evenings? We have one in the living room, which comes on at 5ish (we adjust it to keep up with the dusk times) and goes off at 11. Nice to come back to lighted house, and good security too. We have two at mum's as the house is unoccupied.
Lizzie, I know what you mean about the sun showing up the dust!
Good luck with the new phone Nan2.
Lights from the warm office sounds good Daisy!
I hope you get the tablets changed Plant. It sounds as though they are causing the problem.
Oma, you and B will be tired, take it easy today.
The quiz went fine. Only 4 quizzers this week. That is our minimum number though, so it took place. My throat is a lot better thank you.
GS1 from school this afternoon. I haven't been asked to take him to his marital arts class, so maybe he is going to the Thursday one this week.

Good morning, warmer than it was yesterday, a shower now and again.
Daisy, you would enjoy seeing them switching the lights on.
I was at the pool yesterday and we were working with disks, trying to keep them under the water is hard work, I woke in the night with muscle pain in my arms!

Good morning Nanto and Oma and Lizzie, too, although I hope you both went back to bed after your coffees. Does coffee help to keep you both awake?
We've had a bit of frost overnight but it's dry and we've had a nice sunrise. New Patio Man is hoping to finish today. It will be lovely to start getting things back to normal. Yesterday OH cleared about half the debris from the stump grinding so needs to get a tip run booked to empty the trailer.
I've got the dentist this morning - deep joy! OH is probably travelling back up to DS1's tonight to get in a full day on their greenhouse tomorrow, so we can tick another job off the list.
Gem - I hope you're feeling better today. Is it a busy day for you, or can you pamper yourself?
WeeGranny - I hope your OH had a good night and is feeling better this morning and his blood sugar is stable again. I do sympathise with you on all that red tape - nothing is ever straightforward, and you feel you're running round in circles sometimes. I hate going into a dark house as well. Have you got one of those timer thingies so you can leave a lamp set to come on at a certain time? It would be a bit of reassurance when you arrive home in the dark.
Nanto - I hope you're pleased with your new phone. Dad will be pleased to see you and have your company.
Oma - how are your aches and pains today? Do the heat pads help?
