Glamm, so the thief (cat) was caught in the act! They certainly know where to find the food by other people.

I don't like the sound of the smart car park, I am never keen on parking, why I do not know. In our village and the next one we have parks and they are free for the first 2 hours, I think it is still the same in a town close by, only Delft is very expensive to park.

Oma, you certainly must have had some rain, we have had a shower this afternoon but then the sun came out, I got home from the hairdressers before the rain started.

My bathroom tap is leaking (sink). My neighbour is going to fix a new one for me next week I have just ordered one from the same place I got my kitchen tap from, a very good and quick service. Whilst I was at the neighbours the friend was showing me a fun fur jacket that was her mothers and she wanted to see how she could alter it. I brought it home and did some adjustments and now it is ready to sew, they are going to the caravan for a few days so it isn't in a hurry, I will do it before they get home.

DS2 and DIL are having their bathroom done, it is the only room they have had someone in to do . Most of the things are ordered and take a few weeks, it is a large bathroom, say very large, they have chosen for black bath, toilet etc. They are having something fitted to take the lime out of the water. I don't know if black will be handy to keep clean but it seems to be very popular. They have chosen the tiles and DIL showed me the photo, they will look nice.

I have got quiet a lot done today, a bit of cleaning, tidied the desk, letters ready for posting but it has been raining on and off today. How awful for you Oma, sounds horrendous,

I have been trying to get an appt. to see someone about my rash (Psoriasis), I was told by the dermatology doctor to go back in four weeks if it is no better. Well it has now spread onto my back although it is getting better on my legs. I filled in the form on line for an appt. Surgery rang me to make an appt. the dermatologist I saw last time wasn’t available for for weeks. Receptions said if I had called a fortnight ago she could have given me one in two weeks. I didn’t know if it was going to be better in that time, so it seems I need to make an appt. before I need to see the doctor. I now have an appt. in two weeks to see a trainee doctor who I saw before but hadn’t really got a clue. Fingers crossed it will be better in two weeks. What a mess the NHS has become. Poor receptionists, I feel sorry for them.

Glamm, that was funny about your neighbours cat, you will have to keep it under lock and key. A dog we once had escaped one day and came back with a loaf of bread.

I hope Gemini is managing to warm up.

Plant, I got chilled to the bone!! We have been inside over 3 hours now, dry warm clothing , on hot drinks, central heating and I'm still not fully warm.
Off to fill in my travel journal now

Plant, have you got any cream for your psoriasis? I have Betnovate which seems to clear mine though I've got a flare up on the back of my head, so it's not easy applying cream in amongst the hair! When I was a child they used to use crude tar on it! I can't go past roadworks without a shudder now. It started just as I reached puberty and I'm never really completely clear of it even after all these years!

Glamm, love the story of next door's cat! Could you get a magnetic collar and catch for Oliver and the flap to stop the other cat coming indoors?

Gem, hope you've warmed up now! I've just put the heating on for a bit. Was going to light the woodburner, but it wasn't too cold earlier. Wish I had now.

            Oma,hope you sleep well tonight!

Nanto, hope your family appreciate all the hard work you're putting in on their new house! Don't the council clean and redecorate before new tenants move in? I know they did when MiL died and we had cleared it

Been a day of dodging showers but managed to get a walk in this afternoon. Torrential rain during the night.....managed to wake me up!

Hope everyone has a good evening x

Been another long day helping BIL, but we have made quite a bit of headway now.
WG, no the council don't redecorate for new tennants. If they did,i know it wouldn't be done how my sister in law wants it.
Will be an easier day tomorrow for us tomorrow.
A few of the walls need a bit of plastering doing, so not much we can do.

Weatherwise it has been a day of sunshine and showers, but cold.
The rain is pouring down now.

My sister in law in Wigan rang this evening, and we have put the world to rights.

                  Busy days all round, today!

The weather seems to have scuppered quite a few plans, not least Gem's out on the water.

It's been ok-ish here today. Not very warm but sunny spells. I did a bit of ironing this morning (not much though), and did a bit of online shopping. My new Croc slippers have arrived - I haven't tried them on yet. We were going to take Eva to the paddock after lunch, but OH was waiting for a phone call. We were still waiting by 3 pm, so Eva and I went on our own. Our friends who own the paddock had just come back from holiday, partly in Anglesey (a place OH and I love) so we had a chat, then Eva was keen to have a run and our friend walked round with me, and we cleared up twigs and tree debris ready for him to cut the grass. Eva and I got back home about 5 o'clock, so she's certainly had a good run! I cooked dinner and then did my French homework ready for tomorrow.

Glamm - at least you've found out where the food was going. I don't know how you can stop that - cats are super-smart where food is concerned. I haven't heard of a Smart Car Park - it sounds quite intimidating.

Plant - it sounds so complicated trying to see a doctor, or even speak to one. My OH gets outbreaks of psoriasis as well. Usually on his knees but occasionally elsewhere. WeeGranny - he's used Betnovate in the past, but isn't too keen. He finds a good quality aloe vera gel helps a bit, but mostly he just leaves it and eventually it clears up. Fortunately it is only small patches.

WeeGranny - I had to laugh at your dog coming back with a loaf of bread. When I was a child, my dog and the dog who lived next door but one went into the house between us and stole a joint of meat out of the oven. The lady was just checking it and they ran in, grabbed the meat and ran off! She wasn't happy! Needless to say we never found the meat.

Nanto - how lovely to have a chat with your SIL after a busy day on your other SIL's house.

Gem - once you get that chilled through it takes ages to warm up properly. I hope you've got a nice cosy hot water bottle for tonight.

Lizzie - if it's not one tap it's another! We've had two taps leaking - one is now fixed the other is on the To Do list! I hope yours doesn't take too long. I didn't know you could get black sanitary ware for bathrooms! I'm sure it will look stunning, but they will be glad of the lime-free water. We once had a new house with a dark brown bathroom suite. Fortunately the water was very soft there, but it was a nightmare to keep clean. At least it was our ensuite so nobody else saw it!

Good morning everyone. Just a quick 'hello' before a busy day - French class this morning and dog training this afternoon.

I hope everyone's ok. See you later.

                      Good morning everyone.
The sun is shining, the wind has dropped!
It was still high wInds until well into the night.

Calm waters and no wind will make for much easier sailing. We will set off after breakfast. Report tonight.

It's our friend T's birthday today, she has now caught up with OH and me (her OH is 7 or 8 years younger) We have cake for later

I hope everyone is well. Sorry for not commenting on everything while I am away!

Good morning. Its a lot calmer after last nights wind and rain. Chilly though.

I don't think there is anything we can do today at relatives bungalow, so it might be an easier day today.

WG and Daisy, thanks for your advice about my rash, it was diagnosed as psoriasis but it isn’t liked any psoriasis I have witnessed. It started on my feet with red spots which eventually had a scaly patches, then it was on my hands and arms and now my upper back has small itchy spots. They are gradually clearing on my feet but my hands, arms and back are very itchy. I was prescribed Dovobet. GGD day today, not sure if it will be one or two, I will pop in later to see them. I am trying not to use my car in case I can’t get petrol, not sure what the situation is now.

Oma, I hope you had a better nights sleep and that the flooding has cleared. Hope MIL is on her best behaviour today.

Gemini, enjoy toasting your friend. Hope the calm water continues for your return journey.

Enjoy your easy day today Nanto.

Good morning, we have the heavy rain at the moment. I have been to take some things to the charity shop and to take something back to the Makro that DS2 brought me, it was de-scaler for the espresso machine, I don't use it very often and I was sure I had one in the shed, but no, they brought me 2 bottles and asked if I realised how expensive it was, I told them I paid about €6 a few years ago, it is now €15!! DIL had said " I am sure your mother never paid that"! She was right. One bottle will last me years. I am going to the gym at 1pm, we have an app where we can see how many will be there and that is a quiet time. I must say I am walking much better after only going a few times so I will keep it up.

Gem, enjoy the better weather and the birthday cake!

Daisy, I will find a photo of the black sanitary ware, not my taste though. I like white!

WeeGranny Thanks for the tip about magnetic collars I will look into that even though I have moved the kitchen bin in front of the cat flap I have seen him trying to nose it out of the way he is so cheeky and my Oliver just lay's there watching him,fat lot of good he is !!'

Daisy the Smart Parking is causing a major problem locally with people getting fined for entering the car park, even if you just drive in to pick someone up and you do not park up as such they are getting a ticket as the ANPR camera's have clocked up their registration number on entry and exit its just not right,so the nearby Roads are clogged up with cars and residents are up in arms.

Oma the weather looks awful on that video has the water drained away now ?

Plant my DGD has a skin problem which she has treated at Clatterbridge Hospital by heat treatment it has lessened the problem somewhat but it is still visible she can only have the treatment every 12 months over 10 days then she has to cream her body with an emollient for a week which stops her skin from drying out after the treatment, she was very conscious of the rash
with her being a teenager but she is resigned to it now and the rash is less noticeable on her skin.

I managed to get to the nail salon and have my nails done they are now a nice pale pink colour its good to sit and relax chatting to other ladies for an hour about putting the world to rights we have a good old laugh about all sorts.

My DD has today off work as she is waiting for workmen to come and fix the leak in her bathroom which has damaged her kitchen ceiling when they have finished what they are doing she is popping up and we are going for lunch somewhere locally so looking forward to our time together and a good old chat.

Everyone enjoy the rest of the day and keep warm & dry (Gems I hope you have thawed out now)
