Another nice, day , write up on Travel.
There is no WiFi on here. I must have imagined it! I have bought some more 4G as mine ran out this morning and doesn't renew until 15th. So, I'm keeping in touch with you all, but not via my laptop!

Lizzie - you never stop! I hope you've done something nice and easy for dinner for the troops after such a busy day.

How exciting it will be to get your new bike.

We've had rather more showers than sunshine today, but I got out in the garden for half an hour at lunch time and hoed the borders at the back - little weed seedlings are sprouting everywhere. But so is the grass seed on the lawn. There are little fine blades of grass pushing through, so I hope it stays relatively warm for a couple of weeks for them to get established.

OH had an uncomfortable and expensive session at the hygienists this morning. Then went to get his best watch repaired. It's one of those that recharges its battery in daylight. The repairer thought it might need a new solar thingy but is having trouble getting them at the moment. So as he was nearby he went on to Christchurch to get his car valeted. He sat in a queue of 20 minutes or so, when the car wash machine broke! So, fed up, he came home. I spent some time on giving the kitchen a good clean, and then between showers took Eva for a little walk. I ran into an ex-colleague from college who I hadn't seen for ages, even though we live in the same road! He was trimming his very high conifer hedge - I didn't like to ask how he was going to reach to top!

OH has gone out to a meeting tonight, so we ate a bit earlier than usual so I'm just relaxing with a cup of tea.

Its been another long day at BIL but we got quite a bit done.
I came round home about 12.30 and did jacket potatoes for eight of us with various fillings.
When they were ready hubby came to pick me up and we took them back to BIL's.
Everything got eaten so they must have been ok.

Dad rang early this morning and asked me to go round to do something.
So, i told hubby i would meet him at his brothers.
But, just before i left Dad's i answered the phone(landline) and the call was for Mam.
It was the dieticican, when i told her what had happened she offered her condolonces and said she would remove Mams name from their records.
I was fine when i was talking to her, but by the time i got to BIL's the tears were coming.
Just couldn't stop them. I'm glad i answered the phone though and not Dad.

Hopefully i'll catch up on some posts tomorrow,i'm getting a bit behind again.

Nanto - yes, it's a good job Dad didn't take that call, but still very upsetting for you. You did well to carry on with your day, helping at your BIL's and making lunch for 8.

Sleep well tonight and recharge your batteries. Sending hugs.

Gem - our posts crossed. Hope your extra 4G lasts long enough for you.

Good morning Nanto. We had heavy rain in the night, judging by the puddles everywhere, but the sky's clear at the moment. Glad you're ok today - you've got a busy day ahead so I hope you get everything done.

Oma - I hope you got some sleep last night.

I need to tackle some chores today, and Eva needs a good run in the paddock if it stays reasonably dry.

Hope everyone else is ok. xx

Good morning, dry and sunny here, showers forecast later, I have to go to the hairdressers so I hope it stays dry until I get back home.

Nanto, that would be upsetting answering the phone.

Daisy, you asked what we had for the meal, I did roast potatoes in the actifry, chicken breasts with carrots and sprouts. It was tasty so I am pleased I decided to do it.

                      Good morning all.

Nan2 , things like the phone call do take us by surprise. I'm glad you are ok today.
I hope you stay dry going to the hairdresser Lizzie.

Very wet weather on the canal, and forecast similar all day.
We were lucky with the weather yesterday , and tomorrow so we can't complain!

We will be setting off after breakfast and showers. I'll report on the day later.

                      Have a good one everybody.

No real plans today, I have several choices depending on the weather. It is sunny atm, I might plant some more bulbs if it stays fine. Don’t want to use my petrol as I am down to about half a tank now. A trip to the pond to feed the ducks sounds good. If it rains I will do some work on my Christmas table runner.

Oma, I am so sorry you didn’t get much sleep last night.

Daisy, I hope Eva gets her run in the paddock. Pleased to hear your grass is growing. Can you think of any good ground cover plants?

Nanto, I am sure Fil will be pleased to see you, not surprising you were upset after that phone call.

Lizzie, that meal sounds delicious, I am sure the family appreciated it.

Well I managed 3 hours then the thunder was so loud it shook the roof

It hasn't stopped , we live on a slight slope so usually we are ok but the rain is so hard and the Thunder and lightning has been going so long our Garden is under water .
The water is bubbling out of the drains and the guttering cant cope ,
                          Its also Pitch black ,

We braved it to go to the shops and the wipers on the car couldn't go quick enough
Thankfully everyone was crawling along because they couldn't see so everyone keeping their distance .
Wouldn't like to drive to far .

Poor Bin men collecting the bins in this weather , I felt so sorry for them I actually opened the door and thanked the young man who took ours ,
He said thank you its only my head getting wet we have waterproofs on but it still musn't have been pleasant for them .

You must be tired Oma .
I've come below deck until the next swing bridge ( when J and T get off to operate it, I stand on top to guide OH through) I needed to warm up!
I've got a fleece lined hoodie with waterproof walking jacket over. It's chilly out there today.

Good Morning everyone, once again we have been without internet this is the 2nd time in a week I don't know what is happening locally but there are lots of Openreach vans in the area.

Its rained for the past 2 days and I have not ventured out anywhere just got on with everyday housework, cleaned paintwork and windows and tidied kitchen cupboards I wonder where all the stuff comes from as there is only me here I must have secret visitors during the night.

I have kept Oliver in for the past 2 nights from 8pm to stop him going out the cat flap I have put my bin by the door, the cat flap does not lock as it broke a while ago when Poppy was here she broke the catch when she got stuck.
On the patio outside my back door I have a glass garden table where I kept Oliver's boxes of food I was thinking a week or so ago that I'm using a lot of food lately for his lordship the mystery has been solved now by a neighbour, Sunday morning a ring on the doorbell and a lady introduced herself as my neighbour from the rear house behind my garden she had in her hand a box of cat food and proceeded to tell me her cat had been bringing sachets of cat food over the wall into her kitchen and she was finding them torn open every morning when she got up,she had a video of her cat popping over the wall with the sachet in his mouth so he was the reason my food supplies for Oliver had diminished,I have since caught said moggy in the act when he was eating Oliver's lunch but he ran as soon as he heard me coming in from the lounge just don't know how to stop him as I need the flap open for Ollie during the day.

I never made it to the nail salon it started raining and where I park my car means quite a walk to the salon and I would have been drenched even with my brollie, the usual car park has been changed into a Smart Car Park with NPR camera's its caused upset in the town as it sometimes doesn't work properly and you can end up with a £60 parking charge if things don't go well when paying for your ticket. So today I am going to try and get there again as the rain is due to go off by this afternoon fingers crossed xxx

Oma so glad you finally found a new bed I am on the hunt for a new mattress but may wait until after Christmas I want to keep my bed base and frame as it has 4 x good sized drawers where I store all my linen but the mattress really needs replacing maybe I will get one in the sales in January.

Bye for now ladies enjoy the rest of the day xx glamma
