Just back from another appointment about OH. She's stopping the chemo for the melanoma which I'm pleased about because I think it was that which caused a lot of the problems. He may have to have radiotherapy sometime in the future.

Went into Tesco's which is next door to the hospital and it was a nightmare! They were only allowing one car at a time into the petrol station and the shop was manic. I was amazed at the number of people without masks......I gave them a wide berth when I came near!!

Need to unpack the shopping and put it away before I meet DD to go and visit OH.

Sun is shining here after a murky early morning. Hope Oma's scan has gone well and she's had something to eat to get her energy levels back up again. Enjoy the rest of the day ladies x

      Afternoon ladies ,
I have just had a nap I felt light headed and a bit wobbly after my scan .

The place I had to go was a Primary care place near my MIL so we went straight there and she made me toast and tea ,
I felt much better after that ,so on way home we called into Iceland but when I got home I couldn't keep my eyes open

My Sugar had dipped , im fine now but still tired ,
Anyway the man doing the scan of my Spleen Liver and Kidneys said it all looked normal ,
He will look again and let Dr have the report .

Lizzie that Garage is a keeper and sound honest folk

Glamm I took my own I like Johnnson's baby bath on my delicate baby like skin hahaha
I think lots of people are shopping early this year , all the holiday food is in the shops already .

WG stopping Chemo may be for the best for OH and he may feel more like eating now xx

Daisy I would love to have seen your face when 1 Banana arrived hahaha .

I'm glad the scan showed nothing unusual Oma to and that you feel better now.
Good about stopping OH's chemo WG.

I am at DD's . The GC and I came here for them to get changed and have a snack. Back to school soon for 4.30 start of the fayre.

So pleased to hear the reports of the scan were okay Oma and you felt well enough after Mil’s tea and toast.

Busy day for you Gemini, hope the fare goes well. What is the money raised for?

WG hope you found your OH cheerful and eating better. He has had a bit of a turmoil.

WG - your poor OH has been bombarded with so many drugs, so stopping the melanoma treatment sounds sensible, and hopefully he will start to feel a bit better. How is his appetite now?

Oma - so glad your scans all looked normal. It's a relief isn't it. I bet that tea and toast tasted like a 3-course banquet, but fasting takes it out of you, so I hope you get a good night and feel ok tomorrow. xx

Gem - it's been a lovely sunny day here. Was it the same for your GS's fair this afternoon. How did it go?

We have spent the day in the garden. I'd like to say "sitting and enjoying the weather", but we've worked jolly hard all day. We (well OH) scarified the lawn, while I weeded the boarders, then we raked up loads of dead grass, aerated it twice, collecting even more dead grass each time. Then while OH cleared things up and tidied them away I seeded the lawn and watered it. Oh and in between I cleaned our bedroom and bathroom. It doesn't sound much but it was hard work and we're both aching all over! I did a quick mac'n'cheese for dinner and am ready for an early night.

We're going out tomorrow - a guided walk round the old City walls in Southampton (we've lived here 30+ years and never done this before), then lunch. There's a group of us going, so it should be fun. I'll take Eva to DS2's first, so an early start for me) and pick him up when we get home. DS would have brought Eva back for us but they've got no petrol. They usually fill up on a Friday night when they do their Tesco click and collect, but there was no chance tonight. They'd have run out of petrol just sitting in the queue.

Good morning. The sun is coming up.

We are going into town today. Ages since i was shopping in our own town.

I will stock up at the butchers(not panic buying) if there is any meat.
Hubby wants to fill the car with deisel (he's not panic buying either) if there is any.
When we went to the supermarket last week, he said i'll fill the car up next week. Then look what happens.

I was talking to a friend last night and she had been to Sainsburys. Couldn't get parked up,because the car park was full of cars waiting to fill up.

                Daisy, enjoy your day out.

                  Good morning ladies.

Nan2 and Daisy, I feel the news has created panic and more shortage of petrol. I have an almost full tank of petrol, but I must confess if I had been at half a tank I would have been tempted to fill up after all the news coverage the other day (adding to the queues) for fear of running out. Driving is vital to my weekly life for seeing my mum and collecting the GC. Enjoy the shopping Nan2
Daisy a busy busy day for you both yesterday . I hope you have a lovely day today.

Plant, the idea wasn't fund raising really, but to give all the children a good time, after all the restrictions and times away from school over the last 18 months. Including the ones like my GD who have left and missed a lot of their final year. I hope there will be a profit (we'll find out today) which will go to school funds, but it wasn't fund raising event as such.
I will write a separate thread about the school fair.

Today is the birthday of one of OH's golf friends. A few of us are going to one of my favourite tea rooms this morning to celebrate. I happens to be within the furniture shop which I want to look around , and near Primark, where OH wants some more relaxing trousers as the ones she bought last week are a success!
                  GS1 coming to stay tonight.

                  Happy Saturday to all

                    Good morning ladies ,

I went to bed at 9pm last night so unusual for me but I felt I couldn't stay awake much longer ,
I slept till 5.30 this morning , only woke then because i needed the loo

Been to Lidl this morning and screw fix ,
We then went for spring bulbs and I bought 10 Cyclamen plants to go in the borders when the summer bedding comes out , its a start

Daisy you will be ready for bed tonight all that gardening yesterday and walking today , Hope you enjoy it all x

Gem it was good of the school to include GD's year it will sort of finish her years there off wont it .

Nanto we found the Butchers have lots of stock , it seems the supermarkets that are struggling ,
It's madness what is going on with the petrol , I like Gem blame the media , if they had said nothing everyone would be just filling up as usual and everyone would have enough ,
Its not the petrol is in short supply its drivers .

Good morning, I have just read that is only BP that have the shortage and the rest is all panic through the media. I don't know if that is right or not.

My ribs are less sore, only in bed are they very painful.

Daisy, you would both be shattered after all the hard work yesterday, enjoy your day out in Southhampton today.

I went to the growers the other day for a few pansies and they had lovely cyclamen Oma, also Hellebores or Christmas rose as they are called.

Gem, enjoy the visit to the tea rooms and meeting with friends.

My friend from Aberdeen went to play golf in Spain, they usually go every year, he is now having to stay longer as he has got covid.

Gemini, what a lovely idea to include your GD’s year at thre fare. Enjoy your morning atm the tea rooms.

Oma, that was a lovely sleep for you. I would have gone back to bed as I did this morning and didn’t wake up till 10am.

Sorry to hear about your golfing friend Lizzie, hope he isn’t too poorly so he can enjoy having more days in Spain. Pleased to hear the ribs are getting less painful

We are expecting GGS and GGD1 today, they are going to be here until Monday, their parents are going to a wedding. Monday morning is going to be fun, they have to be got ready to go to school and nursery, then dropped off at their other GP’s who will take them to school, then an exhausted DD will continue on to work. Sounds fun if all goes to plan.

I called in our local garage for some milk and had a job to get in because of the queues for petrol and diesel. I filled my tank up last week, I was almost running empty.

Plant you DD will be worn out on Monday
You cant even get into our shopping centre this morning apparently ,
The roads are grid locked people queueing to get petrol

My Mother would have been 102 today , I cant imagine it ,
I don't think any of us can imagine our Parents at that age unless they were very old when they died

Agree with you Oma, about trying to imagine parents at that age.

Had a good day in town, managed to get all that i wanted.
On our way into town, we saw the fuel tanker turning into the Asda.
Hubby turned off to go to Asda but the garage was coned off.
They had that many cars this morning wanting to fill up, traffic was gridlocked all the way into town.
They said it was causing a safety hazzard.
On our way home,we called at a garage, they had plenty of petrol but no diesel.
Went to another nearby garage and managed to fill up there.
Loads of people were filling their cars and petrol/jerry cans.
Like hubby says,a lot of them will be relying on their car for work, therefore need fuel.

We had a nice time, four of us at the Tea Rooms. I had poached eggs on toast as I hadn't had breakfast, apart for two oatcakes. The others had scones.
We looked at coffee and dining tables and took some photos for reference.
OH got her trousers and we got rid of a few more of mum's books in the Oxfam book bank near Sainsbury's. We had to queue to get into Sainsbury's car park for the book bank as it was gridlocked with drivers queuing for the garage.

OH just called me out into the garden to see a Virgin hot air balloon, very low in the sky!

We haven't seen a hot air balloon for ages.
