    Good evening.

I am on the mend! It will be a slow job I think and I'm very tired. For the first time I can see light at the end of the tunnel how ever.
I will read back on all the chat, but there is far too much to comment on I'm afraid. Lovely picture of Finn to make us all smile though Oma

Oma - Finn is totally adorable! And he's blowing us all a kiss, bless him. x

Plant - your poor SIL (and DD). It's so frustrating when you can't get firm answers on something like that. I do hope he's ok for their retirement party. Did you play bowls? It was warm here, but not not like yesterday.

Lizzie - how lovely, fresh eggs and walnuts. Do they have a lot of walnut trees? Our friends in France had a huge walnut tree in their last garden, and the nuts were so much nicer than the ones you get in the shops in the UK.

Gem, thank goodness you are on the mend. You know we're all going to nag you to take it easy, not do too much, look after yourself, get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, etc, etc, don't you! I'm so pleased you are getter stronger. xxx

I've spent a large part of today spring cleaning the kitchen, washing the cupboards down, cleaning the windows, work surfaces and everything that didn't run away from my anti-bac spray and cloth! It all looks very nice now, but no doubt I'll soon mess it up when I start cooking for the party tomorrow! Also, I've got about a million ear worms in my head after listening to music all day!

I can’t sleep tonight , not only is it stuffy but I also have a headache ,
It seemed the noise never stopped yesterday then when the lads had gone last night B pulled the washer and dryer out for me so I could clean behind ,
It wasn’t as dirty as I thought it was mind you .

They only have that small bit under those in the utility to do today and around the loo then seal it all so shouldn’t take long ,
Once that’s done it’s putting it all back together but we have all weekend to do that .

Early morning sun is on that part of the house,so he will start when the sun has moved round.

              Lizzie
I agree with Daisy fresh walnuts are so much nicer than shop bought you lucky lady ,
What will you do with them ? I think you can freeze them .

              Nanto
What kind of door are you having , I’ve always wanted a stable door , not practical on our little house but doesn’t stop me longing for one 😁

Oma, i like stable doors as well, but not sure if it would be suitable.
It a white pvc door, and we were going to leave it white, but hubby is going to paint it.
We've seen a nice grey shade that we like.

Nanto, I didn’t know you could paint PVC doors.

Oma my DD has a wooden stable door off her utility room into the garden, it is used a lot.

Busy cooking day for you Daisy or is it all in the freezer?

Lizzie, fresh walnuts, lovely. We wouldn’t beat the squirrels to the walnuts if we had a tree.

The answer to your question Oma is that I did go to bowls after Aqua and that will be the last time I do that. The sun came out and it was so hot, there is hardly any shade. We had a long break and finished a bit early. I was so tired I came home and sat in the chair with the fan on me and didn’t move for over an hour. I have decided Aqua followed by outdoor bowls is a no no. I will stick to the indoor group in the village hall.

Good Friday morning everyone. It's 17C here, so some of you must be getting much more summery weather than us. It's also rained a bit. Luckily, we've got all the jobs done in the garden.

Plant - would squirrels get into hard nuts like walnuts? I've never thought about it, but now wondering! You certainly had an exhausting day yesterday. I hope you feel back on form today. I find I can't cope with the extreme heat like I used to - it wears me out.

Nanto - I didn't know you could paint PVC either! I'm sure the grey will look nice and modern.

Oma - thank goodness you got a few hours sleep. Has your headache gone? You can take your time putting everything back together. I know you like it all neat and tidy, but don't exhaust yourself. Is baby Finn letting Mum and Dad get any sleep - he looks such an angel.

Gem - how are you today? I hope you're taking things easy and allowing yourself to recover properly from that nasty bug.

Clover - are you enjoying your visit to DD's?

Glam will be back this week-end - it will be great to hear how her holiday was.

Yes, I am cooking today! Sainsbury's order arrived first thing, and I'm just about to put in a topside of beef to pot roast. It can go in the fridge overnight, be sliced tomorrow and put back in the fridge. I'm also going to start decorating the birthday cake and make some other cakes today. I want to make gluten-free cupcakes as well, but they don't keep so well so I may leave them till tomorrow. I've got chicken drumsticks which I think I'll leave until Sunday morning, and a side of salmon which I'll bake on Saturday evening. I've only got a small oven, so things will be queuing up if I don't get organised!

I have just read this, and, squirrels can get into the walnut shells!

"All squirrels, especially, gray squirrels love walnuts
Squirrels love walnuts and will be extremely happy if they can get their hands on them. If you have a walnut tree in your backyard, it won’t be long before you start seeing squirrels all over your backyard.

There are several types of walnuts, but squirrels seem to love black walnuts .. However, they will eat English walnuts, pecans and other types of nuts they can get their paws on.

The best part is that one walnut can take up to 10 minutes for them to get the meat out. "

maybe it was just too much for you on a hot day like yesterday , you won’t do that again 😁

The people over the road had their white PVC door sprayed navy Blue and it looks lovely .
Had it done about a year now and still looks perfect

                            Hello everyone.
I am up bathed and dressed and had some lunch. This is big progress in the world of Gemini at the moment! Not too bad a night thanks Oma.
I should have been at DD3's midwife appointment with her today. One of so many things I had to miss this week, the saddest being this and GS2's sports day on Wednesday.

I'm too tired to do anything, but at least I am up.

I hope everyone everyone is well and happy.

Gem I’m pleased you seem to be getting over the bug .It certainly knocked you out.

Yesterday DD ,GD and I went to the Open air theatre in Regents Park to see a production of “Legally Blonde” the Musical. We all enjoyed it very much. I’ve never been to an open air theatre before. We were lucky with the weather as we could have had thunderstorms. We were lucky with the trains as well as there was a rail strike but we got the last train to Welwyn North where DD lives with time to spare.

There is a lot of Covid going round here. In fact GD had come home from Uni with it but was clear when I got here.

Hope everyone is feeling okay and enjoying the sun if you’re lucky enough to have some.😀☀️
