I’m sorry I’ ve been AWOL for a few days but “things” have got in the way! Just don’t mention British Gas!

Oma what a worrying time you’ve all been having with baby Finley. Later posts seem to indicate he’s over the worst.I sincerely hope so.

Daisy I hope you have a lovely time away with the caravan. The site sounds perfect. I really hope the weather co-operates for you.

I hope everyone else is ticking along nicely.

I travelled safely back from DD’s but it wasn’t nice coming back to a quiet house after the bustle of a family home.
I had a lovely time there and didn’t have to cook once! One day DD ,GD and I had a day out in Cambridge, less than an hour away on the train. Of course we went on a punt (NOT self propelled 😀) ,had a nice lunch in an Italian restaurant and then indulged in some retail therapy. I was quite exhausted after that!

The bad news is DS1 and SIL both have Covid .I hope I got back from DD’s before SIL was infectious.

Time now for my daily phone call to my sister.

        Good afternoon each.
Oma, I’m following baby F’s progress and all is crossed for a good recovery.
Daisy, enjoy your hols, I’m sure you will do your very best. 😆
Gem, glad to hear you feel you are on the mend, slowly does it.
Plant, it’s nice to enjoy a party but it’s lovely when it stops sometimes.
Lizzie, glad you are enjoying yourself. Keep up the good work!
WG, you don’t let the grass grow, do you. It must be so satisfying to get all those jobs done.
Nanto2, you always make my mouth water. I wish I had roast beef…
Clover, glad you have had a lovely time, fingers crossed for avoiding Covid.

GS1’s 13th birthday today. We all gathered at DD1’s house for tea and cake. Somehow DD2 and I found ourselves weeding her borders! I don’t know how she does it but her plants seem to thrive on neglect! Now home and contemplating cooking dinner. If it wasn’t for the Grand Prix all would be heavenly.😁
As it's Sunday I may have to have another glass of wine.
Enjoy what is left of the weekend ladies.

GM, if I don't get on with getting the jobs done, I'd still be waiting this time next year for them to be done! Procrastination is my middle name! DD and GS have just been round and put the heavy stuff up in the loft, a job I couldn't tackle single handed! The 'box room' will soon be a 'box room' no longer.GS has been helping GF's dad move logs this morning. They paid him handsomely for his help! I said I'd have given him a fiver!!!

Went to the Indian restaurant in the village last night and had a lovely meal. I couldn't eat all mine, so I came out with a 'doggy bag'.....not that the dog's getting any of it! That'll be my tea tonight!

Yes I did help with reading before, so I'm looking forward to getting started again.

DB phoned while the Grand Prix was halted because of an accident. It looks like all systems go up there in readiness for the wedding. We're meeting them all on the Friday night at a restaurant in Perth for a family get together which should start the celebrations off nicely. Really must start practising my reading!

Hope that there's some news about Fin soon, Oma. Hope you're soon back to normal, Gem. Hope that you've managed to escape Covid, Clover.
          Have a lovely break Daisy.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday ladies xx

Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Some results back all seem normal apart from there is a indication it is bacterial meningitis but as they caught it very quickly they are hoping he has got away without any major problems ,
Of course they won’t know for sure till he starts to develop .

They are saying another week in hospital then they may allow him home and a nurse go in everyday to give him his antibiotics through the line he has in .
They have said his immune system will have to start afresh so no visitors allowed for a few weeks .

M&C seem to be relaxing a bit today seeing the light at the end of the tunnel 😁

            Clover
it must have been so strange coming home and everything being so quiet ,
Poor SIL &DS getting covid , my SILs brother and SIL have it again , his brother has it for 3rd time 😱

funny how you get dragged into doing jobs and your not quite sure how you did isn’t it 😁

            WG
hope the weather is nice for the wedding next week
Enjoy your curry for tea , saves cooking doesn’t it xx

                        Morning ladies
                        DD & SILs 24th Anniversary today ,
Last night they stayed in a hotel as a treat ,
This morning at 5 am GS messaged to say he had been coughing all night and had thrown up on the bed and carpet and didn’t know what to do .

So got ready quickly and went round , stripped bed , cleaned carpet , luckily I had a bottle of carpet cleaner in ,
Let dog and cat out ,
GS has mock exam’s today he had been revising last night and had gotten himself so stressed about them ,

Got him off to college with coffee and paracetamol, told him to come home after his exam this morning .

DD back now as they both working today ,
Worry about children Grand children never stops does it 🙄

Slept late this morning, still not showered and dressed. GD1 her OH and baby H have moved in next door as their flat is being decorated. They are here this week and on holiday next week, hopefully it will be finished by then. Quite a lot of party food left, mainly salads but I went to my fridge yesterday late afternoon and there were two boxes in there, asked DD what they were, apparently she had put two cheesecakes in there and forgot them. DD only has two days left before she officially retires.

Oma, I hope the news is good about baby F, his parents must be emotionally exhausted. Good job you were around to go to the rescue, I hope the exam goes well for GS. My 5 are 33 down to 21 but they are still young to me and need a helping hand occasionally. I hope DD and Sil enjoyed their night away.

Daisy, I hope the sun is shining where you are and you are having a lovely rest. I am wondering what Eva thinks of the caravan.

WG, goodness you have been busy. That Indian Restaurant is almost in your doorstep, I haven’t been there. The local village school here is lovely, built of brick and flint and opposite the village green and pond it reminds me of Miss Read books. I am sure you will enjoy helping there and they will be very pleased to have your support.

Lizzie, that time has gone quickly, safe journey home.

I have, for me, a mountain of washing to do, must get it in the machine. Talk later.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

                                Good afternoon everyone.

                                Lizzie, safe trip home.

                                Oma, poor GS.

Lovey to hear from you Daisy, but don't spend any of your precious holiday on posts!

Yesterday I felt much better as the day wore on so hopefully today will be the same.
I am going to order us few Wiltshire Farm Foods meals until we are better.
OH in a golf competition near Wakefield this afternoon. I hope it's less windy there than it is here.
