Oh poor baby, Plant I hope she feels better very soon. This b****y virus needs to go!
GS2 has a bit of cough today, so I hope he hasn't got it. He seems fine otherwise. He hasn't seen his cousin so wouldn't have caught it from him.

Plant - I'm glad your sister's funeral went well, despite the cold. What a pity your nephew wasn't able to get back to the UK earlier, but good that he was there. Poor Baby H. I hope she's soon better, but I think you're probably right that she will have passed it on to your other GGD.

Gem - fingers crossed that your GS2 is ok.

I finally did some housework today - and then needed a sit down afterwards. OH got back from the funeral about 3 o'clock, but at least he didn't seem to be cold, although he was tired. Sainsbury's order arrived at tea time, and I also portioned up some food for Eva. That's it. I'm ready for bed now!

        Night, night everyone. xx

          Good morning.

A day off from the house today.
Going to Wakefield so supermarket shopping will be done in Sainsburys.

Plant, hope babyH isn't too poorly.
          Glad the funeral went well.

I always used to go for dad's paper on a saturday. I keep thinking i'll go and get the paper.
          Then i think, no i won't.

Good morning, Nanto. I'm glad you're having a day off from the house. You need a break and having your Saturday shopping trip will do you good. It's the routine things like you getting dad's paper that bring you up sharp, isn't it. Sending hugs. xx

We're going shopping too this morning. I've ordered a bare root tree for the front garden and I had an email yesterday saying it will be delivered sometime this month. So we're going to the garden centre to get some bags of compost to dig into that part of the garden to try and break up the lumps of clay. We'll take Eva with us and then take her to the paddock afterwards. Poor dog hasn't been out for several days with me being poorly and she'll love a good run round.

            I'll pop back later.

Plant - any news on baby H? I hope she's ok. xx

              Good morning ladies.

Nan2, it will take a while to get used to not doing all the things you did for your in laws. I hope your enjoy day out.
Daisy I hope your cold continues to improve.
Plant, I hope baby H isnt too poorly and no one else catches it. Take it easy today, the funeral and the traveling will have taken it out of you.

We have a free day. I want to go to the new(ish) sports stadium to look at the pool. I am planning to start aqua classes there.
The house needs a good clean. We are free all weekend, so it will get done at some point

              Have a good weekend everyone.

It took me most of the evening to thaw out even with the central heating on full blast and a fan heater on. GD2 has arrived for a birthday celebration on Sunday, it is her fathers birthday on Tues. Not sure if it will take place now in view of the possibility baby H has passed it to the other GGC and my DD and Sil. I haven’t heard how H is yet, I am quite worried about her. I am surprised her GM wasn’t taking tests before she looked after her. Need to do some food shopping today, I will just pop to the M&S Foodhall which is quite close by.

I hope you can get back to Aqua Gemini, I am missing mine. I don’t think I will be abl e to go anyway as the psoriasis on my legs is still quite bad.

Daisy, you sound a bit better but wrap up warm when you go out. I am sure Eva will enjoy a walk.

Nanto, it must be a strange feeling not to go to your Fil’s house with his paper. I expect it will take a time to sort out your In-laws home.

Good morning everyone, dry here and not as cold as yesterday, I went on the bike for my eggs, got caught in a heavy shower with hail stones, DS1 phoned me so I stopped, I told him I couldn't chat for long as I was wet and cold, he asked if I had fallen in a dyke as it was dry at their house, 10 minutes from where I was, when I got home there had been no rain here at all, the cloud must have followed me and decided to get me wet.

Gem, I hope you get in at the pool for aqua, is it far from your house? I have just been for a walk with my poles, I enjoy that.

Daisy, I am pleased you are feeling up to going out today.

Nanto, it will be strange for you both after doing so much for you FIL.

The Voice here has hit huge problems, I think it is the same producer as in the UK. Sexual abuse and seems to have been going on as long as the Voice has been on TV. The men that think they are the power.

                    Morning ladies

Daisy dont stretch yourself today give yourself time to recover although i'm sure Eva will love her run ,

Nanto it will take time to get out of the habit of being around in laws all the time , you will have time on your hands you haven't had in a long time xx

Lizzie sounds like that cloud has had it in for you and just rained in the spot you were in hahaha hope you dried out
Are the decorators finished on your floor yet ?

Plant hope baby H is ok , You must have been frozen to your bones , was it a long service , Did her DS get to see her before she died or did he get back after ?

Gem I often think Aqua classes sound fun but you wouldn't get me in for anything , I feel wobbly just thinking about it

Been busy with my usual weekend blitz and two loads of washing done dried and ready to iron ,
Im having a break then hoover upstairs and its all done .

My neighbour who has mental health problems , Her Mum rang me last night ,
Kym had been ordering stuff while she is in Hospital and her Mum was worried it was being left at the door ,

Told her not to worry I had all the parcels here and they were safe so no need to rush to get them , it doesn't sound like she is getting any better ,
Her Mum said she is still un hinged as she put it , this will be the longest episode yet about 9 weeks or more now .

I said she shouldn't have her cards with her to keep ordering stuff but they cant stop her ,
Her Mum has no idea what she has been buying but we have 6 parcels here , only small stuff by looks of it ,

Well must get on and finish hoovering , have a good day ladies xxx

                      Good moaning each,
I have been catching up but haven’t had much to report except medical stuff and that is very boring. It’s a beautiful morning here, now I am looking out of my eye minus cataract. Very shiny. 😁
We have cleared out the attic at last! Most of the stuff has gone into the garage ready for the charity shop but as we can’t drive just yet, (OH had his eye done too) there it will stay. I just feel so very tidy until I go into the study/craft room. 😬
Son-in-L went swimming in the sea (estuary) yesterday. It was freezing all day. I presume he survived as I haven’t heard to the contrary.
Just had a text from a friend with news of two more friends who have been diagnosed with something nasty! Honestly, I am considering going to live on a desert island and seeing out my days in complete oblivion. I shall start choosing my books now.
Right. OH has a colonoscopy on Monday so I had better check what he can’t eat, and then make up the spare bed ready for him on Sunday night!
Have a good weekend all. 😁

Hi Grauntie, you do seem to be surrounded by medical issues, chin up. I have the start of a cataract too. I hope your OH’s procedure goes well, get your nurses outfit on. O do not envy your Sil’s swim, I will stick to warm swimming pools.

Good news about baby H, she had some porridge this morning and we saw her smiling on face time but she was ready for a sleep.

Oma, my nephew didn’t get back to see his mother but at least he and his DD organised the funeral together. We didn’t go back to the house, DD needed to get back and I was so cold I just wanted to get into a lovely warm car (heated seats included). I wasn’t happy seeing my sister’s coffin lowered into that cold grave and keep thinking of her there. Yes it was a long service, several people took communion, not being a catholic I couldn’t follow what was happening. The church was freezing but the catholic priest was.lovely and friendly.

Gem - we posted together this morning. I hope you're enjoying your 'free' day and filling it with nice things. I hope the aqua classes take place. It's something I'd like to do as well!

Plant - so pleased to hear baby H is eating. Fingers crossed for your other GGCs. Did you buy something nice in M&S Foodhall? I hope that psoriasis clears up soon - what a nuisance it is. When you get that cold - chilled right through - I don't think you get properly warm until you've had a night's sleep. I always feel like that about burials, and it must be so much harder when it's a sister you loved. xx

Lizzie - that cloud certainly had your name on it! I hope you've dried out and warmed up now. How awful about the allegations of abuse on The Voice in Holland. We watched the very first series here some years ago, but haven't seen it since. The winners never seem to make it into the limelight.

Oma - as always, you have been a busy bee this morning. Your neighbour's mum must be so worried about her. I wonder what she has been ordering - it must be a real worry for them. It's kind of you to take the parcels in and save them for her.

Grauntie - it sounds as though you've been keeping the medical profession very busy. I hope you and your OH are ok, and his procedure on Monday is just precautionary. Are you pleased with your 'bionic' eye? The only downside I found to having cataracts removed was the way it seemed to encourage cobwebs to spring up all over the house, and the dust! Luckily I got used to them. It must feel good to have cleared out the loft like that. Next stop, charity shop and then all done. Fancy coming and doing our loft next, please? Cold water swimming is supposed to be good for you - so the survivors say.

I wore my warmest coat this morning, but it was still b***** cold. I wish I'd worn warm trousers instead of jeans. Anyway, we battled through the road chaos to get to a garden centre and got 9 or 10 bags of compost, soil improver and mushroom compost for the tree's home and the tomato troughs. Then on to the paddock to give Eva a run. She didn't mind the cold at all! We intended to stay longer but we were both shivering, so came home, unloaded the trailer and snuggled up to the radiators.

We're going round to see some friends in a bit - first time since New Year, so it will be good to see them.

Grauntie, sometimes life seems to be filled with medical appointments and procedures doesn't it! I love sea swimming but not in the UK and definitely not in winter. Brrrr!!!!!

That is promising news about baby H, Plant.

Lizzie, the pool is about a 10 minute drive away, not far at all.

Oma, aqua classes are done generally in waist to chest high water, would you still not like it? My friend C used to go with me. She hates to go out of her depth swimming but is fine with aquafit.

Daisy, it will do you good to get out and see friends.

GS1 had a negative LFT this morning so he can go back to school on Monday
We went to the stadium about the aqua classes. More on another thread.
We then went to my mum's bungalow and checked things were OK and removed the last of the cleaning things. Nice to see the green shoots coming up in the tubs near her front door (which I hope will soon be someone else's front door!!)
We picked up our prescriptions too. Not exactly a fun trip out but all things which needed doing.

We have played Scrabble this afternoon.

Just had a long face time with GD and baby H, she seems almost her old self. Her daddy walked in from work and said he wasn’t feeling too good!. GD2 has gone back to London as her partner was feeling poorly. We have been so lucky as a family to be clear of Covid, it seems we are not safe. Numbers are very depleted to celebrate Sil’s birthday.

Swimming inthe sea at this time of year, would be a definite no no from me.

We went to Wakefield, but i just couldn't get this day last week out of my mind.
It was good to be outside though.
