Lizzie I suppose when she is on the Autobahn she has to keep up with others , going too slow would in those situations be as dangerous as going too fast

Very warm again today with with a light breeze. Our green waste bin was collected today, only a week late so not as bad as we all thought it would be. Lucky, as my gardener comes tomorrow.

I haven’t done much today, just pottered and Dexter is with me now, flat out on the kitchen floor in a nice draught from the door.

I hope everyone is having a good day And keeping cool.

Feeling very warm after my game of bowls although we were playing in a cool hall. Ladies against the men, just six of us today. Sorry to say the ladies lost badly.

Winning isn't everything Plant, I'm sure you ladies played well
It sounds as though Dexter is in the right place Enfys.
The autobahn sounds a scary place to be Oma and Lizzie!
I hope you have had a nice day with the GDs Daisy.

I got hot with a flurry of housework and lunch preparations, then spent a lovely relaxed afternoon with OH and our friends over lunch in the shade. They left just before 5, then the man arrived to measure up to give us a second quote for the patio.

We are too full for dinner, so I will just grab something before the quiz at 8.

Plant, its the taking part that counts. A win would have been nice though.

Gem,good luck for the quiz tonight.

Daisy,i bet you have had a lovely day with the girls.

Been another very warm day,but not as hot as last week.

It's been a busy day. It was lovely to have the girls (and Cooper, of course!), but as I expected they were very tired after their adventurous night camping. So we didn't do much. They enjoyed watching the Olympics for a while, and they've mostly read, played on their phone/Fire and had a short game of hide and seek.

Cooper was also tired and both dogs slept for nearly 2 hours this afternoon. Unheard of.

OH was out most of the day helping a friend with some wood turning stuff. I took the girls back about 5.30 and stayed to help DS2 sort out a couple of things in their garden. I got home and was just about to start watering when it rained. It wasn't really enough but I really didn't feel like going out in the rain to water the garden!

The girls are back tomorrow, and in the afternoon someone is coming to service the garage door - it's a double one and a couple of the hinges need replacing.

We were just finishing dinner tonight when some friends dropped by - it's lovely to have people calling in again.

Gem - how did the quiz go? You've been busy as well.

Plant - I'm sure you ladies were just lulling the men into a false sense of security and you will win by a country mile next time.

Enfys - saved by the waste collection being reinstated! At least your gardener will have somewhere to put cuttings etc tomorrow. I hope it's not too wet. Dogs know how to make themselves comfortable, don't they.

Lizzie - I suppose you get used to the higher speeds on the autobahn, and as long as people keep sensible distances I suppose modern cars are safer than in days of old.

Nice and bright this morning, but not overly warm, but not cold.

Daisy, what a busy day you had yesterday.
I can't remember the last time we had rain.

Gem,how did you do in the quiz?

Good morning Nanto and all who follow. It's raining here this morning, and I think has been quite heavy overnight. My beautiful Annabel Hydrangea is all dashed to the ground again.

Just off to fetch the GDs and Cooper ready for another busy day. I'll get back on here when there's a lull.

                      Hope everyone is ok. xxx

                        Morning ladies ,
Its so stuffy here no breeze at all ,
B just taken car for its service , they giving him a hire car till its done later so when he gets back we will pop to Lidl for fresh bread ,
Nothing much to do today ,
Yesterday after tea I brushed all the drive and paths down and sprayed weed killer on the few coming through , then I washed the window frames and doors outside back and front

Today its just pottering really ,

Daisy hope the girls are not so tired today and the dogs are good

Heard last night M who is in Hospital with Covid is still poorly they have her on Steroids and Anti Viral drugs , my BIL said she sounds worn out .

Putting the bin out this morning and my elderly neighbour was putting his out , he told us that his wife fell yesterday about 6.30 pm and broke her wrist , Their DS was going this morning to take them to the fracture clinic . Its her prominent hand too so very awkward for her ,
He had to dress her this morning and help her do her hair , Luckily she wears her hair up in a bun and he knows how to do that

I told him just to ring up if he needs help and I will pop along .

How are we all this morning ? all well I hope xx

                          Good morning all!
Another busy one for you Daisy. Have fun!
Same here with the lack of rain Nan2.
Poor M Oma, and your poor neighbour! I know from my OH how easily a wrist can be broken.

I'm afraid I came 3rd in the quiz last night, which was 4th in a way as there were joint seconds!
OH, GS1 and I are going out for the day. Im just waiting for him to arrive. Our booked entry is 11.30 so there is no rush to get off as it's only about 45 minutes drive. We will take a picnic. I froze some buns from the Saturday batch for today 😊 This will be the only Tuesday for the 3 of us to do something as OH usually has Tuesday golf.
We are going to Newby Hall Gardens. We take him most years, but not last summer of course. Lots for children there, and lovely gardens.

                          Have a good day everyone.

Gemini, have fun with GS1 on your day out. Hope the weather is fine for you.

Nanto, we have only had a sprinkling of rain, my sister who lives close to London had that downpour but no flooding thank goodness.

Daisy, busy day for you keeping 2 GD’s and 2 dogs amused. It is lovely to see friends again Daisy.

Oma, poor lady, I bet she is in some pain. I am sure the car will pass its test with flying colours.

I am waiting for the dentist to phone me to discuss the estimate she has sent to me for the treatment needed. This afternoon I am going to the village hall to a sort of party to celebrate the life of a fellow bowls player. He was such a lovely man, gentle and kind. We were unable to attend his funeral so his family have arrange this gathering. He was a Bevan boy during the war, a woodwork teacher, artist etc etc. I think there will be a lot of people there. Because we don’t have our cat the squirrels are coming into the garden and stealing the unripe plums, get me a gun.

Gem, that sounds like a lovely day out with a picnic, very dull here at the moment and thunder forecast, we had heavy showers a few times yesterday afternoon so see what we get later on. GD1 is enjoying her holiday and hasn't had the rain up to now. I have been to the library so I have plenty to read, I came home and saw one I liked in the mini library in the hall so I brought that up with me.

My neighbour came up yesterday, the one I swim with, the one with the rag doll cat!!! She said if she had known what he can get up to she would never have got him! She had a huge figure on her balcony, got it from the family for her 50th. he knocked it over and the head broke off, then whilst she was cleaning it all up she glanced up and he was walking on the railing of the balcony, she lives on the first floor but he managed to jump down into the park. She has ordered some rubber plates to see if that helps but I doubt it, she has fixed net over the railings so he can't poke his head through, I have an idea he will use the net as a ladder.

Daisy, the grandchildren will keep you occupied.

Oma, you did well with cleaning the paths etc, it was so humid here yesterday I didn't get much done at all. I did go to the second hand place yesterday morning, as soon as I stepped out of the car the humidity hit me!!

Your poor neighbour, having to wait to get her wrist seen to.
