Oma, we have them in most towns and cities, the one in Delft isn't huge but it has what I want! The one in Rotterdam is 3 or 4 floors. The one here in the village was not huge but changed the stock daily. It was a nice walk round when the GC were small.

      Ah we are back.
What a change in the weather from this morning.
I'd just got my washing in,when it started raining about ½ 12.
And when i say it rained, the heavens opened. Had a thunderstorm as well.

Daisy, well done to GD for making lunch and biscuits.

Now I am back from library we are back 😊
Rain shower here, luckily OH was in so got the dry washing in.

Very busy afternoon but I left 20 minutes early as I had done everything. Well there was more but not enough time to start it. Our librarian was off Ill so a man who usually drives a mobile library bus stepped in this morning at the last minute. For anyone who watches Emmerdale he reminded me of Bear!

No rain here, spent most of the day with GD1 and H, she has a tooth coming through. We walked to M&S Food Hall and got some fruit and pouches of a couple of weaning food for H, so I have done very little in the house or garden. I had a blood test at my doctors this week, by appointment. I have just received a Text from our practice asking what we feel about the way the appointment system is working. I was very tempted to say what I felt about the website called Klinik that we have to go to to state our symptoms and point to a picture of a person where we have a problem. I feel it is dangerous and there are going to be seriously ill patients who will be put off.

Glamm, Sounds like a lovely birthday lunch for your GS’s birthday overlooking the Mersey.

That was a marathon cooking session you had with your GD Daisy. We have had another fine dy here, if it is fine tomorrow morning, I must get in the garden and take out plants that have finished flowering.

I haven’t used lard for ages, my mother always used half lard for her pastry which was alway very good. Oma, have you been giving that dog too many treats. How is your neighbour?

I miss C&A Lizzie, I remember going to Woolworths and C&A in Holland.

Haven't seen her Plant she went to stay at her DS's for a few days ,
There DIL thought it would be best they both stayed where she could look after them for a little while .

Is H having trouble with her tooth or is she ok with it bless her

Lizzie - I still miss C&As here. It always seemed to have what I wanted, and was good for boys' clothes when our DSs were young. It is a good idea to get your antique clock serviced. My OH has what I think is called a bracket clock. It sits on the sideboard in the dining room. We decided to have it serviced a couple of years ago and we have a friend who loves old clocks. He does a 'Saturday job' with a clock repairer in Bournemouth so that's where we took it. The repairer said if we had wound it up just once more the mechanism would have broken and the clock wouldn't have been repairable. OH often used to forget to wind it and the expert said that was bad for it, too. It was quite expensive to get it done, but it keeps perfect time and a lot of people seem to like the chimes.

Plant - my mother always made pastry with lard and it would always as light as a feather. I still use it for pastry but do half lard and half margarine. Poor little H if she's teething. It can be such a difficult time for them.

Nanto - after moaning about the weather this morning, I could have done the towels - the sun came out about 11 am and it's been quite warm all day. We sat out with a glass of wine until 8 pm - lovely evening, but I do notice the nights are starting to draw in.

Gem - well done on getting everything done at the library. It does sound as though they keep you pretty busy.

Glamm - there's no accounting for where cats like to sleep, is there! Very happy birthday to your youngest GS. My 18 year old GS was the same last week. His mum and dad wanted to take him out for a meal on the actual day, but he said he'd rather have a takeaway. The party on Sunday was also for his Nan's 80th (his other one, not me!) The restaurant sounds lovely - is it right on the prom at New Brighton?

Sun is shining, but i don't know what the forecast is.

Plant, hope H isn't suffering too much with teething.

Daisy,we remarked about it getting darker a bit earlier now.

Hairdresser coming this morning. I've not seen anyone this week apart from in laws.
Seen passers by and waved to neighbours, but not had a natter with anyone.

Good morning, Daisy, this is a wall clock, as the man said, it needs a MOT! The last time I had it done must be almost 15 years ago! I do wind it every few days, the GD's used to ask what I was doing it for. As for the chimes, I often wonder if my neighbour hears it in her bedroom, I will ask her.

Good Morning girls. Hoping everyone is fine and dandy this morning I am up bright and early today as the gas man from the HA is due this am for the annual gas check.

A really good time was had by everyone and the turkish food was delightful I had minced lamb wrapped in vine leaves with potato's tossed in garlic oil and lightly fried just delicious, the birthday boy enjoyed the meal then went off with his girlfriend to the Cinema. My DD and I took advantage of the early evening offer of 2 for 1 cocktails which went down well .
Daisy the restaurant was called Ella and situated right on the front wall over looking the River where we watched the Cruise ship docking in Liverpool, last week the Disney Ship was docked there for 2 days what a special sight that was.The most special sight I have seen on The River was the 3 Queens setting off up The River a few years ago that was a sight to see.New Brighton prom is 5 mins from my bungalow where as you will know takes you on a fantastic walk through to West Kirby .

My little DGD Willow is calling in today with my eldest son she loves coming here to water her wild flowers at the bottom of my garden I got a box of wild flower seeds from Poundland and scattered them with her its the first thing she does when she gets here along with feeding the birds the wild bird food she knows where everything is kept.

Next week I am having my outside fridge and freezer moved into the smaller built on shed just outside my back door at the moment they are in the shed down the garden as there is no electric supply in the outhouse my friend Stuart an electrician is going to put in a socket supply for me it will make for an easier life saves going down the garden in the winter.I am slowly moving the extra stuff from the outhouse into the shed in the garden all painting stuff etc and ladders/car bits and bobs.

The gas man has just arrived so I'm off to let him in and get on with his inspection bye for now ladies x

We have had some quite good weather, sunny but not too hot but today they are forecasting rain later, so might interfere with bowling outside. Baby H didn’t seem bother about her tooth but it has only just broken through the gum. DD looking after GGS and GGD for two nights this weekend so she is going to be busy, I hope they sleep well. No doubt baby H will be joining in the fun. I just hope the weather is reasonable so that they can be in the garden.

Busy day for you at the library Gemini.

Good Thursday morning everyone. It was sunny until a few minutes ago now it's clouded over and it's starting to rain. I'm glad I got some jobs done in the garden yesterday.

It must be the day for hairdressers! Nanto and Gem will look very glamorous, I'm sure.

Lizzie - I hope your neighbour doesn't mind the chimes if she can hear them. Sometimes people think the chimes on ours are an alarm going off! It's a Westminster chime and mostly I don't notice it, but 12 o'clock is quite an event!

I'm going to have a relaxing day today - just a bit of pottering, and perhaps a few ironing essentials. OH is going to a wood turning friend's this morning and staying there for lunch. He wants to make some pens but hasn't got a bit of kit that he needs so the friend kindly offered to let him use his workshop.

Have a good day everyone. xx

Daisy, mine is a Westminster, it doesn't bother me until I want to watch the news at 8pm! If I am on the phone and it chimes people ask what it is!

I am going for bike ride now.
