Oh what a rude man Oma! I know what you mean, I am always a bit disappointed and affronted when no one queries me asking for a senior ticket or meal!!
    Great news about M.
Lizzie, you are doing a good job with the mini library!

Oma, my coffee spurted out with laughing !!!!! You must be the same as I am for getting up again!!! I have to "bum shuffle" until I find something I can pull myself up on! A fysio once let me practise on getting up myself, it doesn't always work.
Yes, DS1 had a straight drive back home.

We had Fish and chips last week and ordered Pensioners special , no one questioned it

Lizzie I had to bum shuffle into the sitting room last week after hand washing the floors and sort of roll and haul myself onto the sofa to get up , not dignified at all hahaha

Oma, pleased M has turned a corner.
Your story about the delivery man made me laugh. Sorry.

Breezy here today. A mix of sun and cloud for us.

Lizzie,i've just checked up on the storm and it looks like it will be the south east that bears the brunt of it.
Like the name by the way.

Nan, thanks, it is an old Dutch name, I don't know how they found it for a storm!!!

Very gusty windy game of bowls but at least it was sunny and dry.

So it is okay to sniff them if you are over 18 Oma

Daisy you are very busy entertaining, I am sure the new village people were pleased to be introduced to your friends.

Thought I'd be super efficient and mow the lawn this morning. Got three lengths done and had to empty grass catcher. Then the b***** thing wouldn't start again! The starter cord wouldn't move, so took it apart and couldn't see where it was sticking. thought I'd try the key, but nothing. Opened battery cover to find no battery, but an allan key and anew length of cord. No wonder the key didn't work. Found battery in shed, now waiting for it to charge and see if it'll start otherwise it's off to the lawnmower mender. Was hoping to get it done before we go away tomorrow, if not will probably need a scythe to cut the grass when we get back!

Travellers have moved onto our Rec and are causing all sorts of havoc. Driving over the cricket pitch, parked right next to the local stables who were holding a Pony Club camp, all the holiday activities have been cancelled and in spite of the breaking the locks and knocking down the height barrier at the entrance, the police are unable/willing to move them on. If I'd done that I'd be sitting in a cell by now. Makes me very angry and I dread to think what mess they'll leave behind when they do go.

Just realised, I've got nothing sorted out for dinner tonight. Better go and check the freezer and see what's lurking in there! Seem to have spent most of today making phone calls and sorting out appointments etc.

Hope everyone is well and has a good evening x.

p.s. No storms here yet, but it threw it down yesterday!

WG we have a problem with them too , our council has now started to put huge boulders at areas they set up camp in ,
Its the mess they leave behind as all of them seem to either do windows or drives and then just dump the rubbish associated with it .

They have even started to set up camp in Supermarket car parks , at least the Police have a easier job evicting them from those quickly

Plant seems so as long as your over 18
Did you play well despite the wind ?

Nanto we have had a mixture of weather too , its breezy at the moment but warm .

Enfys - I'm glad someone here knows what day of the week it is. Enjoy your lunch with your friends.

Lizzie - ouch, your poor knee. That sounds ver painful, and you really must be careful. Glad to hear your DS1 is safely back home. xx

Oma - glad to hear M is improving. Your Italian delivery man wasn't very gallant! He really should have insisted on seeing your ID! B is obviously having one of 'those' days - not content with the rumble of thunder last night and then laughing at the delivery man! You will have to have a stern word with him.

WeeGranny - how frustrating that the mower broke half way through doing the lawn. Also the travellers. I don't know how they get away with breaking down gates, fences, barriers etc, to say nothing of leaving so much rubbish in their wake.

Nanto - the forecast I've just looked at says a storm warning for the south west and South Wales. I do hope Clover is ok. It's been quite breezy here today but warm in the sun.

Friends from Yorkshire called round for coffee this morning - it was lovely to see them after such a long gap. We had a lovely walk this afternoon. It ended up being slightly longer than planned because parts of the path were very wet and a lot of people were wearing sandals or light shoes. I was glad both OH and I were wearing our walking boots. Eva didn't mind the mud at all, so she was fine. Then we arrived back at the farm shop/cafe and had a delicious cream tea - lovely light scones with a choice of jams followed by an enormous slice of cake. I chose lemon drizzle and OH had coffee and walnut. The very large pot of tea was most welcome by then. As soon as Eva had had a good drink of water she lay down and went to sleep. I wish I could have said the same for the wasps, though. The friends we went with came back and we sat in the garden with nibbles and wine till about 8 pm! OH made us a sausage sandwich while I did the Sainsbury's order, and now I've sat down to relax I'm shattered. The walk was in a part of the Forest I'd never been to, and there were some beautiful vistas, and it all smelled very fresh and pine scented after the recent rain. I'd definitely go back there again. Where we live is very flat, but this was more hilly and we realised we're just not used to ups, although the downs were ok!

Sorry for the hiccough to our early birds who couldn't access GRU. It was a server problem at our hosting company, but It's all fixed now.

Morning ladies after that little blip .

Well its like night here and rather wet ,

                              Already been to Sainsburys , Wilko & B& M

We were woken very noisily and scarily at just after 3 this morning when the lovely Picture I had made for above our bed crashed down to the floor and broke .
Luckily it had gone down behind the headboard rail , if it had hit one of use it would have done damage as it was heavy ,

The noise it made gave us such a shock ,
It was on the wall with those Command hooks that supposed to hang any picture safely and with ease , well 6 large ones didn't so how many are you supposed to put on ?
Needless to say we wont use them again

I had to have something else for there so I bought another of the Mirrors I have up and they will be 3 in a row and held up with proper fixings this time

My Nephews wife who was giving her bone marrow had the first lot harvested yesterday but has to go back today for another round maybe from her hip as the person she is donating too is bigger than her so needs more , we are assuming its a man , she's doing ok but was very tired last night it had been a long day .

                              Hope everyone is good xxx
