Lizzie they put a temp cast on last night as it was still swelling , it was one of those with Velcro straps on ,
If it has stopped swelling they will put a proper cast on today ,

Naughty cat poor neighbours statue I bet she was upset ,
My DD little cat has taken to jumping out of GS's bedroom window onto the Conservatory roof then walk across the pagoda , jumps down and cries at the back door to be let in and do it all again
She's a house cat so DD is worried she will get out of the garden .

Oh good Oma, I thought the poor woman had to wait for treatment. This cat is a house cat, that is what is worrying her!

Oma - I'm sorry to hear M is still poorly. I hope she turns the corner soon. Your poor neighbour breaking her wrist, but I have to admire her OH for being able to do her hair in a bun.

Gem - it's not often you come 3rd or 4th in your quizzes - they must have been really difficult questions. Enjoy your day out with OH and GS1. It's cool and showery here, so I hope you are luckier with the weather.

Plant - I think the rain has been quite patchy, so you got let off lightly. Thank goodness your sister escaped that awful flooding in London. How lovely to have a get together to remember your fellow bowls player. What kind of gun would you like for the pesky squirrels. You could try a Nerf gun.

EDIT Sorry, Lizzie, I wasn't ignoring your post. Cooper was making an unholy howling noise out in the garden so I ran downstairs wondering if he'd hurt himself, caught a pigeon or some other unimaginable problem. He was standing outside OH's woodturning shed, distraught because OH and GD2 had shut him out - they were sanding down a bowl OH had made and didn't want the dogs to get dust in their eyes. But Cooper follows the girls everywhere, especially GD2. Eva? She was asleep at the bottom of the stairs, totally unconcerned about poor Cooper!

Sorry - I digress. Your poor neighbour must be tearing her hair out over her cat. It sounds as though her lovely statue is damaged beyond repair. She must be really upset about it. It's also a worry if the cat is jumping off the balcony railings. I bet you're right about the netting - a good scramble net for him. He sounds very adventurous. I don't know anything about cats, but friends with cats seem to have adventure playground type equipment for their house cats - perhaps he needs some indoor challenges.

Oma cats are very good at finding routes in and out, aren't they. Your DD's sounds as though she's found the perfect game - a bit of adventure and a human slave letting her back in the house.

Dogs are beginning to sound easy by comparison.

Lizzie that cat is a terror!!
The Party to celebrate the life of that man is a lovely idea Plant.
Oma, not long after they moved in next doors cat climbed from their house onto our conservatory roof and into the back bedroom!! The window was open as it was a warm summers day and GS2, then a baby, was asleep in the cot! The neighbours knocked on our door extremely embarrassed.

We had a nice day out with GS1. Pedalos, raft, swing boat (with OH), zip wire, playground, picnic lunch and ice creams!
We came home and GS had some screen time before tea. SIL has taken him home now and it is raining a bit.

About 5 ish it came very dark. I thiught we were in for a storm, but we only had a shower.
I was beginning to forget what rain looked like. After the rain stopped, the sun came out again.

Oma,hope your neighbour is doing ok.

Lizzie, your neighbours cat sounds like a real daredevil.

Gem, glad you had a nice outing today.

Gem - what a good day you, OH, and GS1 had. It looks lots of fun.

Nanto - at least you had a little rain.

Oma - how is your neighbour's arm?

Plant - did the dentist's quote for treatment hurt? I hope it wasn't too much of a shock.

We've had a few showers today, some of them quite heavy, and it's a lot cooler.

We've had a lovely day with the GDs and Cooper. GD2 had fun helping granddad with his wood turning, although Cooper didn't appreciate being shut out of the shed and protested quite loudly! GD1 was delighted that we'd got a good supply of coloured paper and she's spent most of the day doing origami with one eye on the Olympics. I took them all back home about 6 o'clock, and came back to find the men here mending the garage door. I'd cooked at lunch time, so just made a sandwich tonight - nice and easy. Then I had the great pleasure of trying out the new iron!!! Such fun..

We've got two lots of friends coming round for coffee in the morning so I'll have to get up in good time and do a bit of tidying up. The weather forecast isn't great so we may not be able to sit in the garden.

                  Good morning Nanto /Ladies

Nanto Its like your Graphic here today , dark and wet .

Gem it looked a brilliant day was had by you all , I couldn't go on the swing boats I would be sick , we called them Shuggy boats when we were young

Daisy enjoy your coffee with friends if its anything like our weather you will have to stay in doors .

I phoned my Neighbour last night , she is ok but sore a cast and a sling has gone on , He is coping ok and one of the DIL's has said she will pop in every day to do jobs he isn't sure of .

Had several very large sheets of Marine ply delivered yesterday , at the weekend weather permitting SIL & GS1 are coming to renew the shed roof , take the old wood off replace it and re felt it .
It should really have been done last year but we never got around to it so at least we will know this winter its weather tight.

This year with the shortage the price of wood has shot up but what can you do if its needed but pay the price

Hope everyone is ok , I will pop back later xxx

                    Good morning ladies.

Wet here overnight too Nan2 and Oma. This morning its still damp and summer is hiding!
If it's the same there your coffee with friends will have to be indoors Daisy.
Oma, I loved the swing boats as child but always felt sick when I got off. It would make me sick now, but of course with my knee no way could I get into and out of one anyway! And too heavy for them

This morning OH and I are having a trip to Wilko for a few things. Then my afternoon library stint. I may be staying on to help with an event until 5.30, but am hanging fire to see if anyone else volunteers, then I can go home at 4!

The weather forecast tells me to expect both sun and rain today!
Enjoy your day whatever you have planned.

A quick good morning from me.

It's sunny at the moment, but the clouds are gathering. I think we'll hope for coffee in the garden, but be prepared for being indoors.

I'll pop back later - I need to do a bit of tidying up. You forget about such things during lockdown, don't you!

Good morning, a very late breakfast for me this morning, I go it into my head to do the bottom of the railings on the balcony, not an easy job but it is done and when the rain comes it will rinse the dirt away. Then I went down to take some things to the containers and decided to sort the mini library out, so many old books, that is done and a neighbour helped me carry them, I will see if the second hand place will still take them.

Gem, I remember the swing boats from the fairs of my youth. GS2 would enjoy his day out with you both.

Oma, I am not sure about the price of wood here, I did see that it was expensive in the UK though.

Daisy, I am pleased you enjoyed having the girls, and the dog.

I got the foot covers for my steps yesterday, after all the carry on I had, a spare set as well.

Had a lovely visit from the daughter and her husband of old friends who were godparents of my children. A few years ago she had a fall outdoors and within a day she was dangerously ill with a flesh eating disease. Yesterday she was having a check up at Stoke Mandeville hospital which isn’t far from here. . It was lovely to see them and so pleased she and her sister keep in touch.
I keep having to put off my grocery shop but have a free day today so I should get it done.

Oma, I hope your neighbour is free from pain now she has her wrist in plaster. I hope the weather will be good for the roofing job.

Daisy, I knew what the dentist’s bill was going to be. Some years ago I fell and broke my front teeth, they were crowned but in time the roots failed so I have a front denture. A tooth that supports the denture needs crowning so she is going to do that and get a new denture made. So you can imagine what the bill will be. I have always had trouble with my teeth, I blame the war.

Plant, it would be a change having visitors.

I have just read that already this year €600 million worth of E bikes have been stolen! That includes children carriers, the one in the photo costs €5,000!

Morning all! Rain through the night, but dry at the moment, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Another hospital day today! It seems never ending.

Hope everyone has a good day xx
