Hello, Oma. Goodness you've done your spring cleaning before breakfast! You can have the rest of the year off, now.

At least you've got a spare socket if you need it, but what a performance for a loose wire. I'm sure we would have done the same, though!

EDIT - Sorry, Lizzie. we posted together and I didn't see your post. I hope you're feeling better now. xx

Thanks Oma, I will, especially today. Maybe just a bug, GD2 was home all week from school so maybe the same thing. They are not allowed to go to school if they have a cough or a cold.

          Good morning everyone.

A very sunny and windy day where I am. The final weekend here before restrictions begin to ease.

Take it easy today Lizzie. I hope you feel better soon.
Oma, Mum was good yesterday. Happy to see me, happy with her new cardigan. Happy with the selection of sweets I took her. In fact she had an M&S cappuccino bar unwrapped and eaten in no time!
Nan2, thank you for the reminder about the clocks going forward. I will do an announcement to remind us all!
I'm so glad you are feeling fine after your 2nd jab Nan2. The workers at Mums care home yesterday told me they were all feeling just a bit under the weather from theirs the day before.

A leisurely Saturday here. I think we are going over to DD1's mid afternoon, for OH to look at the decking at the back of the house. SIL1 (Very academic, not a DIYer) has tried to make a start on dismantling the decking. He had driven screws more deeply in and can't get them out.

          No other plans today.

          Happy Saturday ladies.

Oma, you make me think I should be washing my paintwork, busy lady. I am so pleased you had a good sleep.

Lizzie, I hope you are feeling better today.

Daisy, animals are funny, they know what time it is. I wonder if gradually moving her meal time will work.

DD, Sil and GS2 have gone to London to pick up a van to move his furniture from the garage up to his and partner's new flat in North London. They will be back soon to load up furniture from the garage, then onto his partner's family home to pick up an electric piano, then onto his GM's house to pick up some dining chairs, lastly to a house on the way to pick up a sideboard they have bought on line. DD will driving the car following them. Sil and DD will be home later in the car. Very complicated. They have had the flat professionally cleaned so it should be all ready to move the furniture in. It has been lovely to have him home for a couple of weeks. I wonder who will be the next one to store furniture in the garage, only GD2 to go.
DD just got back, the others have gone to pick up the piano.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

It's been sunny here, but chilly. I'm so looking forward to warmer weather.

Gem - how lovely to read that your mum enjoyed your visit, as well as the goodies and being pleased with her new cardigan. It's always nice to have something new, isn't it.

I've been pretty busy today as well. Dusted and hoovered round downstairs this morning. Washed bedding, rang SIL for a chat. Just off to get us an early dinner before Sainsbury's deliver.

OH and SIL made headway on the decking removal. Its very large and very well fixed! They were so glad of her help. She will help again over Easter. DD and I had a nice chat too.
We came home and changed our bedding then OH had a relaxing bath.

I was packing the Sainsbury's order away tonight when I noticed two big lumps of ice at the back of the fridge. I think the drainage channel must have been blocked, but it took me ages to get rid of the ice - I couldn't chip it off in case I damaged the inside of the fridge.

Then I remembered I had to order dog food and I won't have time tomorrow, so I did that, and now I'm heading for an early night. The clock says 9.45, but losing the hour tomorrow makes it 10.45!!

                        Night, night everyone. xx

Good morning, still a very cold wind, the forecast is for 20+ this week. I am feeling better, thanks all of you, DS1 was here yesterday and he said GD2 had the same last week but was out playing football in the hail yesterday morning so much be feeling better.

Gem, pleased they have OH to help with the decking, is there much to remove? Your mum would enjoy your visit and you would be pleased with her talking more etc.

I went to friends for coffee, she is the one with the immune therapy for lung cancer, it has helped and the treatment has stopped now, she has to go under a scan in a few weeks, I thought she looked ill but that could be from the treatment. She is so thin as well. I hope the results of the scan are good. They are going to their caravan today for a few days so I hope the forecast is right!

I am cheerful this morning, the friends daughter that had cancer of the bust, she had her bust removed and built up from stomach fat, she is now undergoing (heavy) chemo as prevention, she is ill from it and heard this week that she will most probably need the other bust removing. She is only 47 years old, she has 3 young girls, the twins both have Crohn's, all in all they have not had a good few years.

Good morning early birds and all who follow.
We had a lot of wind and rain during the night.

Lizzie, 40 very wide decking panels, some with lights set in! They got all the surrounding balustrades off yesterday and have loosened the screws on the first few panels. They could probably do with your help too Your poor friends daughter, I hope all is well for her in the end.
Oma, what a lovely surprise that was !

                                No plans here.

Have a good Sunday, I hope you remembered to turn any manually alerted clocks forward!
