Plant I too would hate to be stuck in a lift, especially of I were alone in there. We all envy you the baby feeding
I hope that you managed the physio session and stair climb Lizzie!
Well done to your son on passing Nan2.

We went to Mums house, all fine there. The back garden is pretty much under water, but that will go.
I made a chicken pie and an apple pie. The apple one is for tomorrow when the GC are here.
Two friends knocked for a chat on the drive, so I left my cooking to chat. Much less cold than recent chats we have had outdoors, it's quite mild today.
OH finished that jigsaw last night, I will post pictures.

Gem, it was on Jeremy Vine's show at lunchtime that everyone was busy with jigsaws during the lockdown, they even mentioned the Dutch comic ones, very popular here, Jan Haasteren, hubby used to do those as well.

I did manage the physio and the stair climb, but oh dear, at these times I wish I lived on the first floor!!!!!

We received a letter apologising and explaining everything, they have even said if we can't get out for shopping etc we have to let them know and they will send someone to help. They have to wait for the parts to be delivered, we hope tomorrow but have doubts about that.

Gave my GD a foot massage this afternoon whilst the baby was asleep and then we watched Girl on the Train film. I fed baby H whilst GD ran a bath for her, helped by DD who had just got back from shopping. GD still finds bending over difficult. Got my glasses mended and bought some spray from the optician to stop glasses fogging up when I am wearing s mask.

I hope you get that lift repaired son Lizzie, not much fun having to walk up loads of stairs.

Well done to your DS2 for passing his test Nanto.

You are a lovely Grandma Plant.
Let us know if that spray works!
I need to go to the opticians to have my very loose distance glasses tightened. I will buy some spray if it works. I can't wear mask and glasses together as they totally fog up!

Plant, how wonderful being able to give baby H her bottle. My DIL1 is sorting out photos and she sent me some of me and GS1 the first time he came to our house and I gave him his bottle. Both DIL and I remember Clyde (the dark one of our Yorkies) standing on the arm of the chair absolutely mesmerised by the baby. He was always fascinated by very tiny humans. GS1 will be 18 in July and it seems like 5 minutes ago looking back at the photos.

I hope the spray works for your glasses, ladies.

Lizzie, I hope the parts for the lift do come tomorrow.

Gem, glad your mum’s house was ok. Let’s hope the weather soon gets and stays warmer for doorstep chats.

I haven't had time really to test the anti mist spray, he gave my glasses a spray before I left and they didn't mist up when I called into the chemist. It did cost £20 for quite a small bottle.

Good morning. Regardless of what it says in the graphic, spring aint in the air in these parts.
                Foggy this morning.

Off to in laws later. I've just put a load of lights in the washer.
                Coffee time now.

Good morning, Nanto. Spring isn't around here either, but the graphic gives us hope! Thank you.

It's a Cooper day for us, but I shall try and do a bit more painting, plus the kitchen needs a good tidy up. I shall ignore the ironing. Have a good Friday, ladies.

                    Good morning ladies.

Not spring here either Nan2, it's dull and damp.
We will wait a while for you to test the spray properly before you give your verdict Plant

GD and GS2 will be here later. GS has his school Zoom class cookery this morning, so DD will bring them after that. They are staying the night. DD asked if they could as she feels GD needs something to look forward to
We are happy to have them, and DD and SIL can have an evening to themselves too.
Pizza for lunch as change from sandwiches for them, sausages, mash and veg for tea, plus the apple pie I made yesterday. All winter comfort food!

Have a good day ladies, stay safe, keep positive xx

Gem, our posts crossed. Have a lovely day with your GCs. Yes, I think children do need something to look forward to, so staying the night will be great for them - plus the menu in Cafe Grandma sounds perfect. xx

Oma, I had 2 recorded calls about internet being cut off before 9am. I also had 2 yesterday. I don't surface before 9am so I wasn't very pleased.

I will report back about the anti fog on glasses but I don't go out very much atm. It did seem expensive but the young man at my opticians had a good sales pitch. I am really pleased to have the nose piece back so my glasses sit properly. No plans today except making some butternut soup.

Enjoy your time with your GC Gemini. It must be hard for GD not really having anything to look forward to.

I hope you get some painting done with Cooper visiting. Have you watched the latest Landscape Artist of the Year, I would love your opinion about the paintings chosen as the best ones. I rarely agree.

Oma, you are like an owl!!!

Gem, enjoy having the children to sleep, you will all enjoy that!

My neighbours had a huge bouquet of flowers delivered yesterday from the housing cooperation to apologise for them being trapped in the lift. I have had to plan my trip out so I only had to climb stairs just the once. I had to go for treatment, then I planned a 30 minute drive to give my car some fresh air. I had a sleigh in the shed and as a lot of snow is forecast I told DS1 I would drop it off at 11am, he said come later then he would have time to make coffee, I told that didn't fit into my one climb a day! I dropped it off then had the drive, did the meat shopping before I went for treatment and look a backpack to carry it back upstairs, the went much better than carrying a bag. I also left my winter coat in the garage, I had taken a lighter one with me, it was much easier to climb today. We don't think the lift will be repaired today, I think it could be Monday.

Very keen frost is forecast, I saw on the news that a lot of the ice clubs have already opened their taps to let the tracks get covered, I saw as well that it needs -30 for the ice to be safe enough, that can be 3x10, 2 x -15 etc as long as it adds up to -30 degrees. I live and learn!

Lizzie - I'm sure your neighbours will enjoy those lovely flowers, especially if they can't go out because of the stairs. You were certainly well-organised this morning. Interesting about the ice - I'd never thought about it before. Ice is water below 0,.C, but thinking about it our dog food suppliers have got freezers that work at -16 or-17C - much colder than a domestic freezer.

Plant I haven't seen the Landscape Artist of the Year, but I really must do so. I love watching how all the different pictures evolve. Is it on Sky Arts?

Oma - I don't know how you find the energy to wash paintwork down anytime, let alone in the middle of the night! It makes me tired just thinking about it. I hope you're resting now. xx

These scam calls are becoming a real nuisance, one after the other some days. Just lately if I don't recognise the number I don't say 'hello' until the other person speaks, and if it's a rogue call the line goes dead.

I haven't done any painting today, but I cleaned both bathrooms, made soup and soda bread for lunch and tidied up the kitchen.

It's quite sunny now after fog this morning.

Plant, hubby has been watching that painting programme. He never agrees with the one chosen as the best.

Gem, i bet all of you will enjoy being together today.
                                Your comfort food sounds scrummy.

Today turned out to be lovely and sunny and quite mild.
Forecast for next week is not good.
