Daisy, we are mostly under the sea level here and have very good flood defences, there are floods sometimes near the rivers but not often.

"Almost a third of the Netherlands is situated below sea level. The lowest point below sea level can be found in 'Nieuwekerk aan den Ijssel' and is 6,76 meter below sea level. The highest point above sea level can be found at the tri-border area where the Netherlands meets Belgium and Germany."

Good morning Lizzie, Nan2 and everyone else .

GS1 woke at 3.15 with a bad dream. Got him settled and within 5 minutes he was up again. Thinking of happy things to banish the dream had made him TOO happy and emotional!! A few more hugs and a chat and he settled with his Audible to help him to sleep.
He was up early, but then he always is! Excited about the move. I don't know what time we are taking him home. They were unable to get into the house until 4, so may need a few hours today. They and the the removal men had to wait for ages to get in

No plans apart from taking GS home at some point.

Good morning everyone. It's bright and sunny here, but there's been a hard frost and my car is white with it. We're having Cooper over for a play date with Eva so I'd better get my skates on - literally if it's icy!!

Nanto - thanks you for the nice cheery graphic. I hope your in-laws are ok, and mum isn't in a lot of pain with her broken fingers.

Gem - I bet your DD and SIL were very frustrated sitting waiting to be able to move into their new house. I'm sure they'll need some time today to get a few things done. Take it easy if you can - we get out of the habit of 3 am story time, don't we, bless him. He must have been so excited, but huge changes for him, bless him.

Lizzie - I knew Holland was very low-lying, but I didn't realise quite so much was below sea level. I once worked at an offshoot of an oil refinery which was below sea level, and I had to have special leads put on my car because it would get so damp it wouldn't start! I think the Netherlands must be much better prepared to deal with whatever the weather throws at you.

Other than having Cooper, I've got no plans for today. See you later.

The problem yesterday was not only were they delayed in getting into the house, there was a lot of cleaning to do, meaning not much unpacking got done.
DD and SIL left theirs, totally clean, by early afternoon.
The previous owners of the new house seem very disorganised. They have 3 children under 6, so it can't be easy. They knew they were moving though!
School work for GS now so I must go and supervise.

Nanto, I hope you find the in laws well, I hope that finger is healing and not painful now.

Daisy, have a fun day with Eva and Cooper. Watch out for those poss. icy roads.

Oma, I agree, you have to go and look for a suitable fridge, Mine is quite old, the new ones are wider and not sure if they would fit in the space.

Gemini, I expect your GS is getting slightly worried about the move and also very excited. I hope it all goes smoothly for them,

No plans today, we had a very hard frost overnight, nice and sunny this morning. I haven't poked my nose out of the door for a couple of days except to go to the bins. I gave baby H a bottle yesterday but DD changed her. Her daddy was on the phone trying to get things moving on their flat. Not sure whether to ask DD to take me for my jab tomorrow, it isn't far but I would have to sit for 15mins I am told before I drive home.

Plant.....I took Oh for his jab earlier, told them I was his carer and was allowed to go in with him. We were given a timer when he'd had his jab and when the 15 minutes was up the timer was collected and we were free to go. The 15 minutes passed quite quickly, spent time trying to work out where the beeps from the other timers were coming from and just watching what was going on. Angry that some of the staff cleaning chairs and collecting timers were gathered in a group of 5 with no social distancing and leaning over chairs talking to those who'd just had their jabs.

Apart from that, it's a beautiful crisp, sunny morning. Waitrose delivery later and that's about it for the day. I intend to get out for a walk later though.

Have a good day ladies whatever you're up to, hope all poorly people are feeling better and sending love to those feeling down. xx

p.s. heartbroken that my hoover has died on me, I can't do any housework!!!New one ordered though!

Good afternoon on this bright and sunny day.

In laws were fine thanks. Mam been for her jab this morning.
Pain in her broken fingers has eased off a bit,she isn't taking as many painkillers now.

I'm hungry, fish and chips today for dinner.

Plant - I've noticed on tv news items there is often someone with a person having the injection, so it might be a good idea to ask your DD to take you, just in case you feel a bit wobbly afterwards. It's not just the injection, it's something we've all been waiting for for ages and you don't know how you're going to feel. How lovely being able to give your new GGD her bottle.

Gem - it's awful moving in to a dirty house. We've been lucky, it's never happened to us, but DS1 and family moved into their current house 10 years ago and I can still remember the smell, it was filthy. I hope they've managed to get it reasonably clean to unpack and make it habitable.

WeeGranny - it's worrying when staff anywhere aren't taking all the precautions they should, but especially in a situation like that where by definition there are a lot of vulnerable people. Whatever made you order a new hoover so quickly! What did you choose?

Nanto - thank goodness mum has had her jab as well. Pleased to hear her fingers aren't so painful. xx

That's a good excuse for no hoovering WG!

GS is in his new house now. They had worked really hard to make his room ready for him. It looks lovely on the photos and at least twice as big as his previous room. The rest will get done when it does.
DD had somehow booked the Click and Collect for Tadcaster (at least 10 miles away!) so no shopping for them. Sainsburys' will refund, but it means they have no shopping!

My mammogram results came back fine, so that is cause for celebration in our household! I'm glad this week is done. Mammogram, filling, and waiting for results all over with.

                            Turned very cold here tonight.

Gem, that’s fantastic that your mammogram results are clear. Thank goodness - some good news just when we all need it. Xxx. I do hope GS1’s room is exactly how he’d like it, and he feels at home. ❤️

Oma, good to hear your sister has had her jab. We’ll get there eventually. 👍
